Dr. Wayne Terhune graduated from the University of Washington in 1976 with a Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) degree. After practicing for a time in Washington, he moved to the Reno/Sparks area in 1980. His practice has been in continual operation since then, in its original location on Pyramid Way.
For several years, Dr. Terhune and his family have been actively involved in civic activities within the local community and beyond. Dr. Terhune is a strong, well-known advocate for conservative, Constitutional principles. He and his family have been working for lower taxes, increased liberty, and enhanced gun rights. They are members and supporters of Gun Owners of America:

I have been Dr. Terhune's patient for over 5 years now and couldn't imagine going anywhere else for my dental care. Dental Assistant/Office Manager Jessica is so sweet, helpful, and sharp as a tack. Dr. Terhune's exceptional knowledge and skills, great personality, and soothing chairside manner make every visit a genuinely pleasant experience.

WORST PERSON IN THE WORLD FOR TRYING TO GET DENTAL WORK DONE!!!! IF I COULD GIVE NEGATIVE STARS- I WOULD HAVE- TO WARN PEOPLE OF THIS COUPLES INSURANCE SCAMS THEY HAVE GOING ON!!!!!!!!!! MEDICAID FRAUD AT IT'S BEST WITH THIS PLACE!!! WHAT GOOD IS DOING X-RAYS, (THEY JUST DO FOR THE MEDICAID $$$ THEY CAN CHARGE) BUT WON'T DO ANY OTHER DENTAL WORK BECAUSE HE DOESN'T WANT TOO!!!!??? INCREDIBLY RUDE & DISRESPECTFUL!!!!!!! UNLESS YOU PAY CASH UP FRONT, OR HAVE MEDICAID THAT COVERS WHAT THEY CAN GET AWAY WITH CHARGING, (OR ANY DENTAL INSURANCE) THEY WON'T WASTE THEIR TIME WITH YOU!!!! FRAUDULENTPEOPLE, HUSBAND/WIFE TEAM-WIFE RUNS THE FRONT OFFICE, SCHEDULING APPTS, RETURNED CALLS, (IF YOU GET THAT LUCKY,) ETC. THEY ARE THERE 3DAYS A WEEK ONLY), (I LEFT NUMEROUS MESSAGES THAT TOOK HER WEEKS TO BOTHER WITH A RETURN CALL TO SET UP AN APPT), SHE CHOOSES WHAT INSURANCE TO TAKE FOR PAYMENT (WHAT THEY CAN FRAUDULENTLY GET AWAY WITH CHARGING)!!!! THEIR EQUIPMENT IS SOOO OLD & OUTDATED!!!! THEY HAVE BIBLE VERSES THROUGHOUT THE FRONT LOBBY BUT AFTER FIRST VISIT, YOU WILL SEE FOR YOURSELF, 'WOLVES IN SHEEPS CLOTHING!!!' BE AWARE...BE VERY AWARE!!! JUST FIND AN HONEST DENTIST THAT WON'T LIE TO YOUR FACE, SHOW SUCH LACK OF INTEREST IN THEIR PROFESSION TO HELP OTHERS & COULD CARE LESS IF THEY MET YOU OR NOT!!! I have not even seen this guy yet, but I have been trying to find a dentist who accepts my insurance and his office is saving my butt! All the places my insurance first suggested were booking a year out or simply were not taking any patients!! Their office got back to me within the day and set up an appointment within the month! The secretary (keeping her name out of this for privacy) is such a nice lady!!! She helped explain what I had to do next to make sure I would be covered for the visit. I can not wait for my appointment, but so far I am really impressed with the service. I am adding to this now a few months later, but I still feel the same. They are always able to move around with my schedule, the whole team is so nice and very skilled. I always feel welcome! I will be moving in the next few months and will probably be unable to continue with them, but that makes me really sad. Out of all the dentist I have ever been to, this is by far the best. They are always able to explain everything to me if I have questions and I never feel like they are pushing any products or services on me.

For a man with Christian decor all over his office, he was rude, rushed, painful, and judgemental. More like the gun signs than the Christian ones. He is also deeply dishonest, telling me that I needed several grand in dental work, which my second opinion totally disagreed with. I was told to come back for a consultation, at which point I requested my x-rays for a second opinion. When I came back for the consultation, the front desk lady handed me a handwritten piece of paper, reiterating what I had been told. Dr. Terhune wouldn't even see me. I feel like it was in retaliation for seeking a second opinion. Totally unprofessional. Took an hour out of my day. Pick a different dentist.
