Becoming a dentist was a longtime dream for Dr. Brian Handel. In high school, teachers complimented him on his artistic ability. In shop classes, his instructors noticed how well he worked with his hands and often commented on how creative his projects were. He would typically hear, Youre amazing with your hands; maybe you should think about becoming an artist, a mechanic, a carpenter, or a welder. While none of those professions interested him, their remarks got him thinking.

During a visit to his family dentist for a filling, he was impressed by the dentists ability to repair a cavity in his mouth and make it look like nothing was ever done. He then looked at some before and after pictures of his cosmetic work and thought to himself, I could do this! Throughout high school and college, he worked in different dental offices, learning as much as he could about the profession. This reinforced his passion for dentistry. He loved the idea of working with people to make them healthier and improving their self-esteem with a beautiful smile.

After college and a brief stint working as a wallpaper hanger in South Florida and enjoying the beach, he entered Temple Universitys Kornberg School of Dentistry and earned the degree hed been dreaming of since junior high school.

Soon after graduation, he became part of a Wayne tradition of providing quality care and comfortable dental treatment. He has dedicated his career to providing patients with the best that dentistry has to offer using the latest technology, materials, and treatments. Every day he goes to his office with an extreme appreciation for the confidence and trust his patients have placed in him. This drives him to constantly pursue knowledge that will help his patients.

Dr. Handel believes in giving back to the community and is proud to help improve the dental health of those who are less fortunate. He volunteers for the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistrys Give Back a Smile program, which provides complimentary cosmetic care to domestic violence survivors. He also enjoys volunteering his skills to the National Foundation of Dentistry for the Handicapped.

In his free time, there is nothing more important than his family and friends. He spends as much time as he can with his two amazing daughters. The very proud dad also enjoys yoga, working out, playing guitar, golfing, playing tennis, and traveling.

Dr. Scott Smith has been in full-time clinical practice since 1993 and in his current King of Prussia location since 1997. He provides periodontal services, including dental implants, to our patients. He has lectured nationally on subjects including dental implants, perio-pathogenesis, surgical and non-surgical periodontal therapy, and advanced clinical treatment planning. He is the director of the Valley Forge Dental Forum, which was founded to help educate area dentists and hygienists in their pursuit of excellence.

Dr. Smith has a bachelor of science degree in Honors Biochemistry from Pennsylvania State University and earned his DDS from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry. Dr. Andrew Awad, raised in Houston, Texas, graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. During his time at the University of Pittsburgh, he was very active in organized dentistry, teaching, and community involvement through his church. After furthering his training through a residency program at St. Lukes Hospital in Allentown, he has committed to learning more about implant and cosmetic dentistry.

Claire has worked in the healthcare field for over 15 years and has a true passion for helping people. She is very friendly and knowledgeable, and she takes the time to sit with patients to help them with all of their clerical questions. Claire resides in Delaware County with her husband, Matt, and their three children. When Claire is not working, she enjoys cooking and being outdoors with her family and her four dogs, Ava, Cado, Machete, and Wick.

Lauren is an indispensable member of our team, thanks to her dedication to the well-being of our patients. When she isnt providing top-notch care at Wayne Dental Care, you might find her coaching our local high school cheerleading team. Ann brings more than 40 years of dental experience to Wayne Dental. She is a licensed Expanded Functions Dental Assistant and has taken many courses at the Las Vegas Institute (LVI) for cosmetic and posterior dentistry. Ann is married with two grown children and is also a proud marmee. When she is not treating patients, Ann loves entertaining friends and family and gardening.

Rosemary fell in love with dentistry 15 years ago when she first started as an assistant. She obtained her EFDA license in 2012 from Harcum College. Rose finds joy in being able to provide high-quality care to every patient she treats. She enjoys spending her free time with her fianc outdoors in the sun, preferably on a beach.

Dentistry has always been Alissas calling. From a young age, she always knew she wanted to become a dental hygienist. She graduated from Harcum College in 2016, and she was a recipient of the Hu-Friedy Golden Scaler award for most outstanding dental hygiene student. Alissa has a passion for dentistry and helping her patients achieve their best smile in any way possible. When shes not working, she enjoys spending time with her dog and fianc taking long walks and hiking as well as traveling to the Caribbean to relax under the sun.

Kristin has been in the medical field for 10 years. Kristins ability to adapt quickly and her caring personality makes her a perfect fit for our office. She is passionate about providing the complete patient experience, including comfort and knowledge of dentistry. She moved to Pennsylvania from Virginia in 2015. Kristin admits that she is truly thankful for having found a dedicated, family-oriented team where she feels at home. Her happiness and satisfaction are often credited to her rewarding interactions with her patients by educating and improving their dental and overall health. Kristin enjoys spending time with her two children, being outdoors, and traveling.

Jacqueline graduated from University of Pittsburghs dental hygiene program in 2013 then continued her education at the college to obtain her bachelors in Dental research. Jacqueline loves to spend time with her loved ones and meeting new people. Outside of work you can find her doing anything that keeps her active from lifting weights, to biking, to kayaking. Jacqueline is adventurous and loves to travel. Wherever Jacqueline goes she loves to see people smiling and enjoying life.
