After graduating from UCLA School of Dentistry in 1988, Dr. Wathen soon became an associate with Dr. Omer Nielsen, eventually taking over the practice upon his retirement in 1992. The existing dental practice has been in Bellflower since even prior to Dr. Nielsen (Dr. Garrison), over 75 years! We strive to maintain the same old fashion ethics and values Dr. Nielsen practiced- numerous families with 3rd and even 4th generation patients in our practice are a testament to our commitment to maintaining consistent, quality service. Services include general and cosmetic dentistry, orthodontics, Invisalign, veneers, implants, bonding, teeth whitening, dentures, non-surgical gum treatment, and emergency care.

Dr. Scott Wathen is a Southern California native, born and raised in Downey, CA where he graduated from Warren High School in 1980. He then attended UC Irvine, graduating with a degree is Biological Sciences in 1984. From there, it was UCLA School of Dentistry, graduating with multiple Outstanding Achievement Awards in 1988, and then into private practice. Dr. Wathen is married with two daughters. He has been very active in youth sports, managing/coaching his daughters in their years of competitive soccer. Now that they are playing/finished with college soccer, you will more than likely find him on the golf course. Dr. Wathen also enjoys beach volleyball, skiing, waterskiing, woodworking, or spending time at the beach with his wife and their very active Australian shepherd.

Our dental assistant, Ivonne, was born and raised in Central California. While she was a senior in high school, she landed her first job in a dental office. She is currently furthering her career in the dental field and working towards getting licensed as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA). Ivonne is married with two children. When she isn't working at Dr. Wathen's office, she is spending quality time with her family.

Gina started her career as a dental assistant but quickly found her niche on the administration side of the office. She has been enjoying work in the dental field for the past 27 years. Gina provides the office with a warm, serene environment and can put any patient at ease. She is married with 3 children, and 3 grandchildren. She also has 4 fur babies, whom she loves just as much as the rest. In her free time, Gina volunteers at her son's school and helps care for her grandchildren. She also enjoys camping and hiking during the summer, skiing in the winter, reading and browsing Pinterest for new DIY projects.

Andrew is our office's Registered Dental Hygienist- one of the best in town! Born and raised in Southern California, Andrew grew up in Rancho Palos Verdes. He then went on to graduate from the Dental Hygiene program at Cerritos College in 1997. Andrew is a huge animal lover- he, along with his girlfriend Kim, have an assortment of cats and dogs. All of which are very spoiled. During his free time, he and Kim like to indulge in a vacation, some of which have been based on a concert's location!
