To further enhance his dental education, Dr. Herzog has completed hundreds of hours of continuing education in the specialty areas of implant dentistry, endodontics, sports dentistry and orthodontics. He is currently a provider for Clear Correct Orthodontics and has received a certificate from the American Orthodontic Society for Straight Wire Orthodontics. He is a member of the Idaho State Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, the Team ACT Study Club, and the American Orthodontic Society. He previously served as the President for the Southwest Idaho Dental Society. In 2017, Dr. Herzog received the distinguished Fellowship Award from the Academy of General Dentistry, at a national convention in Las Vegas, Nevada. In 2020, he was inducted into the prestigious International College of Dentists. An accomplishment that only 3% of dentists worldwide receive, based on Integrity, Leadership and Service.
Dr. Herzog loves to be involved in the community and volunteer his time and abilities. He supports several local societies, organizations and youth sports teams. Every few years he guides a team on a dental mission trip, where he provides dental work for people in foreign countries who do not have access to care. His most recent trip was to the small village of Punta Gorda, Belize.
After practicing in Austin, Texas for a little over 3 years, Dr. Herzog was ecstatic about moving back to his home state of Idaho. He is an avid fly fisherman, golfer, skier and sports fan. Although he has many hobbies, his favorite past time is spending time with his gorgeous wife Chelsea and their two dogs Olive and Chipper. Dr. Herzog is committed to providing gentle, quality care to his patients while integrating the latest technology and procedures. He loves being involved with his local community, looks forward to building new relationships with the great people of the treasure valley, and helping people obtain the smile that they deserve.

My wife and family have been going to waters edge dental for probably 20 years. KELLY the hygienist is super gentle and amazing and Dr herzog is very personable and awesome .. I would recommend them highly it's hard to get in and that's your proof they are great!

Above and Beyond Exception! I have had nothing but amazing things to say about Water's Edge Dental. I have had the pleasure of having both Dr. Herzog and Dr. Hyder work on my teeth. They are both extremely professional, friendly, and caring. The entire staff is amazing. They value you as a patient not just a customer. Highly recommend!

I know it's a somewhat rare thing to hear that a person looks forward to going to the dentist, but I do. I have absolutely adored everyone who has cleaned my teeth so far and they are all professional and personable. I've had some crowns done and Dr Herzogg was extremely proficient and made the experience as painless as possible. I was extremely anxious at the start, not going to lie, but they did everything possible to make sure I was comfortable. Top tier staff, dentists , and facility. I look forward to going to the dentist now.

I have a severe aversion to dental visits/dental work. I had an urgent issue come up, had to find and schedule an appointment and I was met by a wonderfully friendly voice, Cindy, when I called to schedule my appointment. She was able to get me in right away. Dr. Hyder was incredibly sensitive to my anxiety. She explained everything she was doing before she did it and asked if it was ok, she asked if I needed breaks, and was attentive to meet me where I was in terms of my apprehension. I didn't even feel the numbing shot, she's got a secret cheek maneuver that was AH-MAZING! I'm actually looking forward to my next visit. I highly recommend this dental office!

This was the most thorough dental exam/cleaning I have ever had in my life. They even did some sort of gum examination to make sure those were healthy in addition to my teeth, which no other dentist I've been to has done. Also, they were all incredibly sweet, from the front desk ladies to the lady who did the x-rays, to the lady who did the actual cleaning. The lady who did the x-rays was very patient and understanding with my very sensitive gag reflex and didn't get annoyed or snippy like people have in my past experiences at other places. The lady who did the cleaning (they might have been the same, but I know there was two of them at one point) was super patient with me needing to rest my jaw at times and also with me jumping violently when the polisher tickled waaayyy more than I was expecting, haha. They also answered all my weird questions about dental stuff that I've never felt comfortable enough to ask about before, haha! Like they just make you feel at ease. The dentist was also super nice, and explained things very well to me, taking the time to show me all eight of my cavities on the x-rays (yeah, I've got to cut back on my sugar intake) and answering all of my questions afterwards. And you know what? I didn't feel one ounce of judgement from him. So long story short -- these guys are fantastic! Highly recommend. Oh and also, I was quite impressed at this. Dr. Herzog is the first dentist to notice right off the bat that I don't have one of my canines. I saw my last one quite a few times before they were like uh hey...where's your canine? So again, very impressed.

Great experience with everyone in the office! Great customer service, friendly and helpful. Kerri, my dental hygienist makes my teeth feel so clean and tartar free! Love that feeling! Dr Herzog is a fantastic dentist! He explains everything, his work is pain free and precise! Plus he has a great personality and very friendly! This practice has all that you need and more!
