I was not an established patient with Waterloo Dental Associates but woke up with an extremely sore tooth/gum/jaw right before the holiday long weekend. I called the office and explained my situation, they graciously squeezed me into Dr.Aldrich's schedule right away. Paper work and insurance was a breeze, the front desk was all smiles and beyond kind +helpful. Dr. Aldrich was kind, gentle, easy to talk to/relate with, and really took the time to explain the issue. He showed me pictures of the inside of my mouth + the x-ray to make sure I understood. He did not nag me about not coming to the dentist on a regular biases, offered to get me in for a teeth cleaning, and be my "home base" dentist office. I will absolutely be returning! Highly recommend this office to anyone needing dental care!

Staff is incredibly knowledgeable and caring. I've been here twice now and they're always detailed to explain what they're doing and why, creating comfort and understanding . I plan to be a long-time patient here and recommend others seeking a dental office to do the same.

As someone who is not particularly fond of the dentist because of experiences in the past, I was so relieved that Dr. Aldrich and his team were so kind and took the time to develop a treatment plan specifically for my teeth. The hygienist Olivia took the time to explain everything in detail and made the whole process smooth and simple for me. Not to mention she did a great job cleaning my teeth! I am so glad I chose to start going to Waterloo Dental Associates! I promise you won't regret it!

I cannot say enough great things about this dental office! Dr. Aldrich's staff always shows the upmost of kindness and care to myself and my family whether it's communicating over the phone or in his office. Dr. Aldrich's friendliness and gentle nature put myself and my kids at ease each time we visit. He is thorough in his care and explains treatment plans in a way that are understandable. When there's any emergent dental needs, he goes above and beyond to see us as quickly as possible which you don't find in just any dentist. If you're looking for exceptional care, I wouldn't look any further!

I posted a very angry, yet honest, review a couple of days ago. I deleted it once I realized that it only caused me to stoop to the level of character displayed by Dr. Aldrich this past week. I feel it would be best to simply explain the situation so that others can decide for themselves if this is how they would like to be treated as a patient of Waterloo Dental Associates. Although I have dental insurance through my husband's employer, I was given the opportunity to accept a grant via my counselor that would completely pay for the treatment I so desperately need. Here's my story... Ten years ago, when I was teaching 3rd grade in Georgia, my insurance finally covered bariatric surgery and I eagerly jumped at the opportunity. Gastric bypass has many positive results that improve overall health, but it also takes a huge toll on the nutrients that your body absorbs. As I lost weight, I also began losing my smile, as my teeth eventually crumbled like chalk. Fast forward to the present...I, like many others, see a counselor regularly. She knew how badly I needed to have major work done on my mouth, as the same thing happened to her own mother after she also had bariatric surgery. Even though I have dental insurance, I am sure you all are aware of how little it actually pays. My counselor came upon a grant that she could write that would basically pay for 100% of the work I need done (around $7,500 for extractions and dentures.) I have been awarded $5,000 already, as that is the maximum amount that can be issued annually. All we would have to do is give Waterloo Dental Associates the 16 digit card number for them to be paid $5,000 immediately. This would cover all extractions and part of the quoted denture price. I have been approved for the grant to pay the remainder of the treatment cost. It will be available in September when the state's "new year" begins. My counselor called WDA last week to ask if I could go ahead and have the extractions done, as I have to wait two months for my mouth to heal before getting the dentures. I am in excruciating pain and can't eat most foods because of it. Keep in mind, I have $5,000 right now that I could pay immediately. My counselor told his secretary that she could forward the email that guarantees the remaining funds, so they could be assured that they would be paid. His secretary said that she would ask Dr. Aldrich how he wanted to proceed with my treatment plan. I was willing to wait until July to have the extractions done so that Dr. Aldrich would have the remaining $2,500 in September...before the dentures were placed. I honestly thought that Dr. Aldrich was a compassionate human being. Keep in mind, I, at NO TIME, assumed or expected any kind of special treatment from Dr. Aldrich. His reaction to us asking how he wanted to proceed with my treatment plan was unbelievable. I was told that "I wasn't a good match" with his practice and that he was refusing to treat me. I was absolutely shocked...NEVER did I expect that response. I know this is the longest review in the history of reviews, but I would hate for anyone to choose Waterloo Dental Associates without knowing the character of Dr. Aldrich. I spent 17 years teaching in a school with over a 90% poverty rate because I felt like I was making a positive difference in the lives of my students and their families. I was able to sleep well at night knowing that I made that difference. I hope you sleep well at night Dr. Aldrich. I hope that how you treated me was an exception and not your norm. I hate that my children had to learn a lesson this week about how some people, even doctors and dentists, are narcissistic and in this business for the hours and money...not to do good and make a difference. Don't judge a book by its cover. By looking at my dental situation, you wouldn't think that I was a teacher with a master's degree who has spent most of her adult life working with students who just need a compassionate constant in their lives...shame on you Dr. Aldrich. Sorry I wasn't "a good match for you and your practice".
