Dr. Sean Bannan grew up with dentistry as a major part of his life. His father, who is also a dentist, served as an early mentor to him, giving him the opportunity to see what dentistry was really all about. He was fortunate to be able to work as a dental assistant for several years under his father, as well as several other dentists in Denver, Colorado. These valuable opportunities provided him with significant experience before he even began his formal dental education.
Dr. Bannan went on to complete his undergraduate studies at Michigan State University, receiving his Bachelors of Science degree in Human Physiology. He then attended the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, where he was awarded his degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery. His current affiliations include the American Dental Association, the Florida Dental Association, the Central Florida District Dental Association, the Volusia Flagler County Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.
Today, Dr. Bannan is still committed to the idea of continual, lifelong learning, and he regularly attends continuing education events in order to stay up to date on the latest treatments, techniques, and technologies in the dental world. I wake up excited every day, knowing that I get to do what I love, he says. My absolute favorite part of dentistry is the ability to form relationships with people of all walks of life, and to be able to have such a profound, positive impact is truly humbling and an honor. The trust that patients have in me when providing dental care is something I do not take lightly or for granted. I strive to treat each and every person I see in the same manner as if they were a family member of mine. Simply put, I love what I do.
While dentistry is truly Dr. Bannans passion, he strongly believes in maintaining a work/life balance. When he is not at the office, you can typically find him on the golf course, on the ski slopes, cheering for the Michigan State Spartans, playing on the beach, or spending time with his family. He and his wife Kate are the proud parents of two sons, Logan and Miles.

I transitioned from an executive assistant and marketing specialist role in a busy Seattle, WA office into the dental industry in 2015 and am loving it! My experience started as a dental assistant in a small hometown office in Montana and now to the sunshine state of Florida. I took it a step further in 2017 and earned an Expanded Function Dental Assistant certificate where my first job just happened to be with Waters Edge Dental.
Now, I am fortunate enough to utilize my skills to work with patients on a one-on-one basis as a Treatment Coordinator. It is my job to help patients understand their treatment plan, assist with financial arrangements, work with insurance, and manage communication between Dr. Bannan and Dr. Penland for a smooth transition to complete your dental treatment from start to finish.
I initially became fascinated with the dental field at the early age of thirteen. During my first dental experience, I was scared as any patient would be, having had three root canals done at one time! I am no stranger to the dental chair. I will always treasure having this first-hand experience because it helps me relate to our patients and calm their every worry.
I began my professional dental journey in 2007, becoming a Registered Dental Assistant. I enlisted in the Army Reserves, where I graduated Distinguished Honor Graduate for both Dental Assisting and Dental Hygiene, serving the soldiers. On the civilian side, I have my degree in Math and Science from Daytona State College and graduated with Summa Cum Laude and received the Academic Medallion for Dental Hygiene at Monroe Community College, Rochester, N.Y.
Born and raised locally, I am no stranger to the beautiful beaches, where you can find me playing volleyball, frisbee or building sandcastles with my three-year-old daughter. During the later hours, you can find me rollerblading the streets with my Yorkie, Jax, running alongside. When Im not outdoors, I enjoy baking delicious cakes for my husband and family to enjoy.

I started with Water's Edge 2 years ago and loved them. But, I had to switch dentists when our dental insurance was not covered at Water's Edge. I have been to 2 dentists this year and neither came close to the care and professionalism I got from Water's Edge. The hygienist at Water's Edge spent an hour trying to clean my teeth and gums from the lack of a proper cleaning from the previous dentists. I will never go to anyone else!! The entire staff including Dr. Bannon, Jennifer and Tina are the best!!

The most pleasant dental experience I have ever had. From the minute you walk in the door, the atmosphere is inviting and relaxing. I have never met a more pleasant group of people so willing to go out of their way to help and make you feel cared for! Everything was explained clearly every step of the way. The women at the front desk explained my insurance coverage and did all they could to help save me money. They even have a new patient special which was cheaper than using insurance. I am definitely choosing Water's Edge as my new dental practice!

As a new patient I was very impressed! The office is gorgeous, done in a cool, beachside theme. The staff were friendly and caring. Their equipment is all first class, contemporary machines and Dr. Bannon is a caring, highly skilled dentist. You couldn't ask for more in a dental office!

10 stars!!! *********** Update *** I want to add that the ladies there are so kind and knowledgeable! I'm truly happy I found this office! *** This was the best experience I've had at a dentist office. I highly recommend them. 8 always have anxiety going to the dentist. The office and the equipment is new. The office staff are friendly, kind and happy. The hygienist was fabulous. I commend her. I hadn't seen a dentist in 2 years so I really needed a deep clean. Dr. P is thorough and it was easy to understand the questions he answered about the work I may need in the future. I'm happy I found this office. I'm new to the area and it is always hard to get doctors and dentists. The technology there is top of the line. They used a panoramic x-ray machine to get a full view of my jaw and sinuses. They saved me a trip to the ear, nose and throat doctor! All the way around, excellent experience.

I love this place! I have never been to a dental office where I felt this comfortable. I mean the whole staff is awesome and work so great together as one. Tina my hygienist is so gentle and her work is perfection. I remember my first day I went in with anxiety and 5 minutes with Tina I never had it again! And of course you can't have a great running practice without a GREAT boss and super dentist! Kudos to you Dr. Bannan you are the best!

Amazing!!! I had a bad molar and I called and made a appointment with Waters Edge Dental. They had a appointment cancel before mine and got me in the next morning. After Jennifer took my X-rays Dr. Sean Bannan came in and took a look and discussed my options with me. I decided a crown was the way to go and to my luck they were able to get me in a few hours later. Genny and Dr. Sean Bannan we're great they both explained every step and made sure I was okay and comfortable the whole time. Yesterday after leaving my mouth felt 100% better and I highly recommend this office. If I could give them more then ten stars I would.

Moving from New Jersey. Developed toothache this week. This office is top notch!! From triage, receptionist, manager, dental hygienist and Dr.Kyle. They got me in in and found the problem. I will be transferring all my dental records from New Jersey to this wonderful office. So happy I found a competent office like the one I went to in New Jersey. Thank you again for making me comfortable!!!

It's truly hard to imagine a more welcoming place than Water's Edge Dental. Saw Tina for cleaning and, as usual, she did a masterful job while making you feel very special and cared for. Same for Dr Bannon. He is thorough, efficient and talks you through every step while putting you fully at ease. I simply cannot imagine going to a different dental clinic.

I'm sorry to say that Shannon is not as efficient as Ashley who is my regular hygenist. She did'nt use the suction correctly, i had water running out of my mouth. Twice I had to stop her. Also at the end she had the water rinser on so hard I felt like I had a shower.

I've been a patient for a while but it seems like every time I go for a procedure its a problem. Just because I had difficulty with the link they send me so I can pay for the appointment in advance and tried calling to make the payment, they told me I had to go to the office make the payment then call to set up the appointment!!! If I could give them 0 stars I would.
