Only reason I put 1 star was to be able to write about how horrible this place is. I been taking my kids here for years never once was actually seen at or even near appointment time and now my daughter has been in pain for weeks and they want to give her appointment 2 months out . WARNING to all parents go anywhere but here ! They accept tenncare but this place is awful ! Go online there are plenty of dentists who accept tenncare and are actually professional kind and customer service oriented ! Do not go here! Everyone is rude and they honestly DO NOT care about kids or the parents ! 0 zero starts they are the absolute worse!

If I could give zero stars, I would. We are foster parents and unfortunately this practice is pretty much the only one that accepts the insurance for our foster kids. We LIVE for the day there is another dental option available. Today I took in our oldest for a cleaning and filling. This child has been in need of the fillings for a year now but because they over schedule and have too many patients, you have to wait a minimum of six months to be seen for anything. Yesterday at 8:52 am I received the reminder call about her appointment. They said 'confirming child's appointment at 8 am' - I said yes, we will be there. At 10:06 am I get ANOTHER call and they say the same thing - confirming 8 am appointment. I said, yeah - but you guys already called once confirming this 8 am appointment. They said, oh well we called once for her cleaning and then this call is for her filling. PLEASE NOTE: BOTH phone calls gave an 8 am appointment time. We show up at 750 am this morning, go in at 8 am, and at 8:13 she is taken back. At 8:33 am they sent us back into the waiting room and said, cleaning is done, wait here for the filling. So we wait. And wait. At 8:50 am someone else in the waiting room goes to the window and asks about THEIR appointment (which was at 830) and they are told that the dentist is still with the 8 am appointment. I wait until 9:03 I went and asked how much longer the wait would be. I was told that he was still working on the 8 am patient and that our appointment wasn't actually until 9 am anyway - which was NOT what I was told yesterday. Long story short, because I have a job and could not wait for the dentist to not only finish the 8 am appointment but then also take care of the 830 appointment before getting to us, I had to reschedule the appointment. So now this child's appointment was pushed out ANOTHER six months. Hopefully her tooth doesn't fall out of her head by then. The staff was also completely unprofessional and you can tell they do not care that their patients are being MAJORLY inconvenienced by their lack of competence. The best part is, this is not a new development. This happens. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. We have literally never had an appointment here that has not taken at least half of our day - and that includes just a plain cleaning. Unreal. Do everything you can to avoid this practice.

Best dentist I've been to. The staff is courteous, kind, helpful, and caring. Doctor Davis is very professional but also very down to earth, and listens to his patients. He puts great care in his work and it shows. I have always felt like I was in good hands. The service and people here are second to none in my opinion and I am 100 percent satisfied with the results over multiple visits, which has not usually been my experience with other dentists. I would recommend this dentistry to anyone.

My daughter had 2 adult teeth coming in behind her baby teeth and nothing was done for months and months. Said they've called insurance. Insurance has nothing from the dental office and so on.

I made my appointment before Halloween. For December 13th. I get there and they wait all those months to tell me they don't take my insurance anymore. Then tell me it'd cost me $191 for a checkup. Ridiculous

I'm only giving one star because because zero wasn't an option. My grandmother had all of her teeth extracted by Dr. Davis one year ago next week. She was fitted for dentures one month later. Her set of dentures arrived 2 months later. They didn't fit my grandmother's mouth by any stretch. Between March and July, we went back to the office for adjustments 8 times. They were still not fixed. They clearly don't know what they are doing in this particular area so if you're looking to get dentures, save yourself a LOT of time and trouble and go to a competent office. I DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!

This dental office has caused problem after problem for me and my dental work. The last time I went in they drilled in my mouth to the point I was trying to jump out of the chair and dentist just told me I had to take it basically (after 3 or 4 shots with numbing medication) now 6 months later and I'm going to have 2 teeth pulled. I'm not one to leave bad reviews. But I'll never recommend this dental office.

I was talked into a root canal I couldn't afford, and I let the dentist know I couldn't afford it and I really would rather have an extraction but he just sort of did the root canal anyway. The receptionist told me upon my first visit, the root canal would cost 145 with my insurance. When I actually got the root canal and went up to pay, she said, "that'll be $300" and I'm like?? I ended up only paying 170 because that's what I brought with me and they never contacted me for the remainder. I know he didn't properly finish the root canal, because my tooth still aches like it used to. They were extremely rude, and I didn't feel welcome. If you have to spend the extra money on a good dentist, don't go here.

Been going here since I was younger. I've had issues before with them saying insurance didn't cover something. Still owe money. Took my 5 year old son in. He had a cavity. Dentist said he would try to do a filling - "if it stopped bleeding". "If it didn't stop he would just pull it out." My son had never had ANY dental work besides cleanings at this point so he was obviously terrified. They did it with him awake with just numbing shots. Can't remember his name but he was younger male dentist. He was very hateful with my son and threatened that he would make me leave the room if he didn't behave. (I wasn't going anywhere) he was behaving, he just wanted to ask questions like a normal 5 yr old would, and told them it was hurting, multiple times. ( to which they kept on going and didn't listen). Was also told he didn't normally do kids but if he was "good" he would. Fast forward I now have him at a pediatric dentist because he was having pain on the same two teeth that had fillings done. Turns out the dentist at Watauga placed the filling right on the nerve of the tooth he was working on. That's why it's causing so much pain. Today he is crying from so much pain because of this place. That dentist should have known better. And should have treated a five year old better. My son is now terrified of every dentist office because of this place. Never again. Don't take your kids there for anything but cleanings.

I've put a rating of 2 due to what my boys have said about this place n due to lack of contact n information with the parent, children don't always repeat info correctly. Also even though they are pretty timely getting u in & out, it can make one feel rushed n forget to ask or if you do ask, go ahead n plan on getting the shortest response. My children do not go there now n i no longer recommend this place due to the fact they don't want to ever go back

I've had nothing but GREAT experiences at Watauga Dental. They are EXCEPTIONAL with my special needs individual, Dr. Chaz knows just what to say and do to ease their mind as to what visit entails.

The only reason I gave them one star is because The teeny tiny chip Dr. Davis fixed has stayed but the silver filling he drilled out back in 2013-2014 I can't remember exactly what year it was Did not. I had a silver filling that I had for 15 years prior & Dr. Davis asked me if I wanted it replaced with enamel colored filling . At first I was unsure but Dr. Davis has away Soothing people & assuring people that he is confident in his work as a dentist so I allowed it . I would very quickly learn to regret that decision. Within the first month after eating I would notice pieces of tooth enamel in my food, by the grace of god I felt it & didn't swallow it . At first I didn't pay too much mind to it because it didn't hurt however with a 6 months more & more came out . I called Doctor Davis office multiple times to get them to fix it as Dr. Davis claimed he would if there were any complications with the filling . However every time I would call I would get a run around that I had to pay for the exam in order for the dentist to look it to even see if there was a problem . I was assured that the filling would not come out & if it did Dr. Davis would take care of it at no charge to me but that wasn't the case. I was not paying a Wataga Dental , Dr. Davis another penny until they fixed my tooth that he destroyed . I followed up with Aspen Dental , got a free exam & took it back to Wataga Dental , same run around & at this point my daughter had gotten a filling in her baby tooth that had fallen out within 3 months again from Wataga Dental -Dr.Davis so I was truly not happy . Two people two fillings fallen out & two teeth destroyed by Wataga Dental -Dr. Davis. I was told by Aspen Dental I would need a root canal at nearly $3500.00. Well unfortunately I do not have insurance & I don't have that kind of money to spend on a tooth. So over the years the tooth has continued to chip away & I continued calling Wataga Dental Dr. Davis & even begged him to fix it at one time again same run around until I finally decided to seek legal assistance & told Wataga Dental & Dr. Davis's response then was "I am sorry we have no idea what you are talking about , we have no record of even working on that tooth " well I bet you don't !!! So not only did Wataga Dental -Dr.Davis destroy one of my teeth but he is also now not accepting responsibility for his actions nor willing to fix it . At this point after destroying my tooth & after my daughters filling feel out however by the grace of god the filling that fell out of my daughters mouth was a baby tooth so her adult tooth has grown in fine. I don't even want to go back to have my tooth fixed there because it is no telling what other damage Dr. Davis would cause my teeth . I now have 1/3 left of the filling & 3/4 hole in my tooth that has began to get very uncomfortable. I am trying to keep the tooth as long as possible because at some point it will have to be pulled. However it is getting to a point that my daughter & I both need a check up , cleaning & obviously I need my tooth fixed but I am scared to go to anyone after the trauma that Wataga Dental-Dr. Davis has left me with in addition to a hole in my tooth . I am petrified to see any dentist because of what he has done to me. However I know I have to go so I am just trying to find a dentist practice based on reviews. As I was reviewing the reviews I noticed all the bad reviews Wataga Dental has & I felt I should also share my nightmare to help anyone to avoid going through what I have . I also wanted to add that I received a bill from Wataga Dental today for someone that doesn't even live here nor never has Lived here. That isn't the first breach of privacy that I personally have endured from Wataga Dental but that is another nightmare on behalf of Wataga Dental. Beware If you want to keep any teeth don't go to Wataga Dental-Dr. Davis.
