Dr. Pollowitz resides with his wife, Dr. Sharon Brown (the other dentist in practice) in Bethesda, and they have three children, Andrew, who is completing his Masters in Sports Management, Ryan, a senior at the University of Miami and Michelle, a junior at Georgetown Day School. Dr. Pollowitz is an avid swimmer, bicyclist, and loves tennis, racquetball, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.

If somebody told me five years ago that one day I would be leaving a glowing review for my dentist, I would say--firstly--what an oddly specific thing to tell me. Secondly, I would say they're crazy. But five years ago, I hadn't met Dr. Pollowitz, Dr. Brown, and the staff at the Washington Center for Cosmetic & Family Dentistry. I have never, and can confidently say I will never, find a dentist and an office as excellent as this one. Every single person at the Center is warm, kind, and professional and have taken the best care of me and my family. I have recommended them to friends and I have recommended them to strangers. I have even recommended them on a first date. The last time I visited, I had to get a filling done. Now, there was a time when I would go through bags of Mike & Ike's like a pitching coach with a bag of sunflower seeds. My diet looked like that of Will Ferrell's character in Elf. My point is I'm no stranger to fillings. I don't particularly look forward to them. Dr. Pollowitz's filling, however, was done so comfortably and so quickly that I felt sad at not being able to stay there longer. This is truly a special place.

I think the most important review of a cosmetic dentist is the one that stands the test of time. I went to Dr. Polowitz to cap my upper teeth about 10 years ago. It was a fail from the start. He capped one tooth that turned out to be broken. After extreme pain while chewing, the doctor determined that the cap had to be removed and the tooth extracted. I was not reimbursed for the payment for a cap on a dead tooth. When the day came and my caps were all installed, one of Dr. Polowitz's attendants pointed out to him that the gap between teeth was much too wide. This would lead to food getting stuck and tooth decay. But rather than have Dr. Polowitz fix what he installed, I sought out a new dentist. Thankfully I found Dr. Neil Starr, and wound up having Dr. Starr replace the front 6 caps that Dr. Polowitz had installed, and which I paid him for. There was never any reimbursement for his many errors. So, here it is 10 years later.. Of the remaining 6 caps that Dr. Polowitz had installed, which I did not jave Dr. Starr replace, 5 fell off. I have no 'teeth' at all, in the upper back of my mouth, and my smile is impacted as you can see in the photo. When I reached out to Dr. Polowitz 2 years ago, and told him about all the caps falling off, he remarked, 'They're only supposed to last 10 years'. He shrugged off the whole thing. His insouscient attitude was in keeping with his care in the initial installation. Well, by way of comparison, EVERY cap that was installed by Dr. Neil Starr (also of Washington DC) is still intact. Today, I am extremely thankful that I paid the large sum, at that time, to have a different dentist replace my front caps.. What would I look like now had I not? The photo tells the whole story, and this is just as much a good review for Dr. Starr, as it is a lament about Dr. Polowitz. I'm amazed that he's still in business. Bottom line - It's not just how the teeth look when he puts them into your mouth. Beware..

Dr. Pollowitz and all of the staff are fabulous. They listen to the needs of their patients and make everyone comfortable no matter whether it is anxiety, back limitations, or vertigo. They explain everything before the procedure and then continue to update everything as they go through the process. Total experience makes going to the dentist a very pleasurable experience.

You'd be hard-pressed to find a better trained, experienced and technologically advanced dental office in the Washington, DC area. I absolutely would not hesitate to visit Dr. Pollowitz for any of your dental needs, and I regularly refer friends and family to him for dental treatment.

Dr. Pollowitz and the team at Washington Center for Cosmetic Dentistry are the best there is. From schedule to checkups to procedures, it has been a shear pleasure to work with everybody. I can't say enough about Dr. Pollowitz. He really makes me comfortable. The office is convenient located, rooms are spacious, and new technology makes for a great combination and service.

Everyone here is very kind and were quick to ease my anxieties! I appreciated their ability to fit me in quickly. I get nervous with medical things so they were very patient and understanding with me. I highly recommend their services! They're the best.

I've been coming to this practice for a very long time, but wanted to write because I recently had a particularly excellent experience. First of all, they have been taking very good protocols due to covid, including masking and face shields, even though everyone in the practice is now vaccinated, as well as air filters in each examination room, a mouthwash that neutralizes germs, the removal of sinks so there's no spitting (and therefore no aerosols), and increased distancing. I chipped one of my front tooth in early February. I called the practice in the late morning in a panic, and they were able to fit me in later that same day. When I came in, everyone was very kind and welcoming, and Dr. Pollowitz fixed the chip beautifully: the cap or bond he put on (I don't know the official term) matches my tooth color perfectly, and there is no seam, no jaggedness, or any other indication that there's anything there. After a month, the bond has held well and I feel almost as if nothing ever happened! I have no fear that the bond will fall off, nor am I worried about how I look. I'm so grateful for both this practice's care and kindness and their excellence as dentists and dental hygienists. I always recommend them to anyone moving to the area. Thank you, Dr. Pollowitz and Team!
