Dr. Andrew Smith is excited about living and working in Salt Lake County. He was born and raised in Murray, Utah. Dr. Smith attended Utah State University where he was a student athlete, competing on the track and field team. Dr. Smith graduated cum laude from Utah State University in 1998. He then moved east to Boston, Massachusetts to attend the prestigious Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. During dental school Dr. Smith earned the Merit Scholarship awarded to the top dental students. Dr. Smith graduated from Tufts in 2002 where he was the recipient of The Dean Lonnie H. Norris Award for Achievement, Professionalism, and Strength of Character.
After graduation Dr. Smith completed a General Practice Residency from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in 2003. During his residency he completed rotations in the emergency department at New England Medical Center and anesthesia training in the operating room at Childrens Hospital. His residency training also consisted of treating complex cosmetic cases as well as orthodontic training.
In 2008 Dr. Smith completed a two-year course in orthodontics from Progressive Orthodontic Seminars. Soon after completing the orthodontic course he was asked to join the team of instructors at Progressive Orthodontic Seminars. As an instructor, Dr. Smith had the opportunity to teach other dentists around the world, as well as all over the United States. In 2013, Dr. Smith completed a mini-residency in dental implant placement from WhiteCap Institute.
To enhance his patients smiles, Dr. Smiths most recent education has been at the American Academy of Facial Esthetics. This training included the use of Botox and dermal fillers to enhance a persons youthfulness and smile. Dr. Smith believes that treating a persons smile goes beyond just the teeth and includes both dental and facial aesthetics. Combining the knowledge and treatment of skin, muscles and dental treatments, a person can achieve their best possible smile.
Natalie has been working with Dr. Smith since 2015 as a dental hygienist. She started her dental career as a dental assistant specializing in pediatric dentistry. Always having a dream of being a hygienist, Natalie attended Southern Utah University and received a bachelors degree in human nutrition. Natalie then pursued another bachelors degree in dental hygiene from the Utah College of Dental Hygiene, where she currently works as a clinical instructor helping future hygienists in the clinical setting. Natalie enjoys both working in the dental office setting and teaching students. She has a passion for helping others and loves being a dental hygienist. She also loves farming, singing, concerts, playing the piano, and going to the movies.
Reina has been our hygienist at Wasatch Gentle Dental since wait for it 2006. She is originally an Idaho girl but has lived in Murray long enough to feel like a local. If you call our office and hear laughter in the background, it is most likely Reina and her patients having a good time. She has the talent of making even the most anxious patients feel comfortable. In her spare time, Reina likes to read, sing, crochet, hike and travel with her husband and two grown children.
Marisol has worked with Dr. Smith since 2007. She was born in California but Utah is her home. After graduating high school she was not sure what her next step would be, but she knew she wanted to work in dentistry. Dr Smith took her in, showed her the ropes and she became a dental assistant. The rest is history! She has loved being an assistant ever since. She is a bit quiet but will always go above and beyond to make sure our patients are well taken care of. She loves her dog Kaino, bowling, watching movies, spending time with her friends and family and having a gym session with her sister.
Tina joined our team in 2018. She started her dental career at Certified Careers Institute in 2007 where she received her certification as a Registered Dental Assistant. Her love for dentistry and passion for helping others has made this career choice one that doesnt feel like work at all Tinas positive attitude and bubbly personality gives patients a warm, inviting feeling and sense of comfort. Laughter is the best medicine, so shes always making the other team members and patients laugh. Tina has a sense for adventure and a love for the outdoors. She enjoys camping, and hiking as well as skydiving. She also loves spending time with her family and friends.

I hadn't been to the dentist in 4-5 years due to some mental health issues. Dr. Smith was understanding, kind, and gave me great advice for upkeep. The hygienist, Reina, was also wonderful and thorough. I'd recommend Dr. Smith to all of my friends and family.

This dentist office is greedy and only care about the money ,I paid my balance with them after my dental service and I received a bill for $45 I guess my insurance didn't cover that portion I had an appointment coming up so I was going to pay them the balance in person ( this all was in a matter of 2 months) and they sent me to collection agency !! I was a loyal patient for years and ALWAYS paid my dues and sent my family to them and this is how they treat me, wow what a joke !!

I was very impressed by the care and concern during my teeth cleaning visit. The doctor and the assistants were very thorough and asked me was I satisfied with the treatment that I had been given. This was the first time any dentist has ever asked me that. So I give them 5 stars for the quality of service they provided.

Dr. Andrew and staff are the best. I was super nervous about getting a tooth extracted. Dr A took his time, communicated with me and didn't feel a thing. We moved across town but his office is worth the drive.
