When she graduated from dental school in 1987, Dr. Joyce had no idea how much this amazing profession would change over the next three decades. Exciting advancements in dental technology like lasers, 3D imaging, and bonding have made it so exciting for her to go to work. What she enjoys most about her job, though, is the great feeling she has at the end of every day after helping patients get over their fear of dentistry, relieving their pain, or even making them cry tears of happiness when they finally see their new smile. It never gets old! She may be treating teeth, but its the human relationships that make being a dentist truly worthwhile.
After completing her Bachelor of Science in Biology at the University of Pittsburgh, Dr. Joyce transitioned to the campuss School of Dental Medicine to achieve her doctorate. She also completed a General Practice Residency at St. Elizabeths Hospital in Youngstown, OH.
Today, she prides herself on providing the most thorough exams possible to patients in need and taking the time to explain dental problems and possible treatment options. The dental offices motto is gentle dentistry for your busy lifestyle, and she takes that to heart. She promises to always meet you at your comfort level and make every procedure as relaxing and stress-free as possible.
Dr. Joyce never thinks of continuing dental education as a chore she wants to be the best dentist she can be, after all. While the state requirement is only 15 hours a year, she regularly attends over 100 hours of continuing education on a yearly basis throughout the country. She also regularly invests in new technology to help make the patient care process more precise, accurate, and ultimately successful.
When she isnt busy at the dental office, you can often find Dr. Joyce hanging out with her family, biking, skiing, rooting for the Penguins, and playing the mandolin in a local orchestra. She also loves cooking and traveling with her extended (and work) family.
For over 30 years, Dr. Jack has been blessed with a wonderful career where hes able to help people every single day and he doesnt see himself stopping anytime soon! He treats each patient as if they are a member of his own family, helping them make informed decisions about their care and exceeding their expectations with high-quality treatment that goes the extra mile.
Dr. Jack has wanted to be a dentist ever since he was 12 years old. A close family friend had the same profession, and he seemed to have a very fulfilling life where he was respected and admired by everyone around him. Over the years, that family friend became Dr. Jacks mentor, and he worked in his dental office while in college and learned very important lessons along the way. After completing his Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from the University of Pittsburgh, he transitioned to the campuss School of Dental Medicine to achieve his doctorate.
One of the most important lessons Dr. Jack learned from his mentor is that dental school is only the beginning of your education. To that end, he has dedicated himself to completing over 100 hours of advanced training each year. He has developed a particular interest in treating obstructive sleep apnea with oral appliance therapy, as well as teaching his patients about the ways in which oral health affects systemic health.
Dr. Jack has a special passion for Cosmetic Dentistry and has advanced training in cosmetic dentistry most recently achieving his Fellowship at the Las Vegas Institute where he showed proficiency in cosmetic bonding, facial cosmetics and full mouth reconstruction.
His goal is for any person to be able to smile confidently. He can use Invisalign, a single porcelain restoration, bonding to close a space, or even a full set of porcelain veneers to achieve his client's goals. He just wants you to love your smile.
Dr. Jack first met Dr. Joyce in dental school, and they love not only continuing their professional careers together but spending lots of time with their growing family too. As for personal hobbies, he loves playing tennis competitively. You can find him on the court every weekend!
