Diane graduated from Gettysburg High School in 1976 and served in the United States Coast Guard from 1977-1981. She attended USCG Dental Technician School 1978 and has 38 Years of Experience, 13 of those years are with Warrenton Dentistry. What Diane enjoys most about her work is interacting with the patients. She is an incredibly caring and tender-hearted person and strives to make our patients feel as relaxed and comfortable as possible. She wants them to leave with a smile on their face! Diane believes in providing excellent dental care in a compassionate way. She also believes in being a team player, working together with her fellow team members in a professional manner with room for laughter and camaraderie. Diane grew up in Gettysburg, PA on a dairy farm. She moved to Warrenton from Tampa, Florida in 2004. She has 2 grown daughters and two grandsons! She enjoys cooking, yoga, hiking and travel.

Tammy graduated from Woodbridge High School. She has over 18 years of experience in the dental field and has been with Warrenton Dentistry since 2013. Even as a child, Tammy knew she wanted to work in the dental field. She loves all aspects of dentistry, especially getting to know the patients. She is committed to providing high-quality dental care and strives to make patient visits to our office as pleasant and comfortable as possible. Tammy loves to spend time with her grown daughters and her husband! She enjoys camping and vacations in Hatteras, NC.

Sarah graduated from Old Dominion University with a bachelors degree in Dental Hygiene in 2009. She is certified to provide Nitrous Oxide sedation and certified to administer local anesthesia. She has over 13 years of experience in dentistry and has been with Warrenton Dentistry since 2011. Sarah loves her patients; they are why she does what she does, and her caring attitude shows in all that she does! She enjoys educating patients on their oral health and its importance for overall health. Sarah and her husband, Clarence, live on the family farm with their 2 boys. She enjoys family trips to the beach, reading and family walks on the farm with their dog, Tucker.

Michelle graduated from Northern Virginia Community College with an associate degree in Dental Hygiene in 1999. She was so outstanding in the hygiene class that she received the Hu-Friedy Golden Scaler Award! She is certified to administer Nitrous Oxide with sedation and is certified to administer local anesthesia. Michelle has been a hygienist with Warrenton Dentistry since 1999! Prior to that, she was a dental assistant for Dr. Murray for many years, she is our most long-standing employee! She takes dental hygiene very seriously. This career path has allowed her to put her passion into practice. Michelle is an outstanding educator and has a fantastic way of building personal relationships with her patients. Michelle and her husband Bubba are both native Fauquier County residents. They have two daughters, Brooke and Rachel. Michelle is a dog lover and adopts rescue dogs, her favorite are old wieners (dachshunds)! You can always expect to hear Michelle giggling in her room with her patients and telling them, See you in 6 months or 6,000 smiles.

Ashley graduated in 2005 from a home-based high school. She lives in Culpeper with her daughter Brooklyn and their two dogs- Buck & Lily. Ashley came to us with years of experience and has been with Warrenton Dentistry since 2015 as a pivotal member of the front desk team. Ashley oversees all of our scheduling, new patient establishment, and the coordination of insurance benefits information. You will find her friendly face behind the check-out station! Ashley loves the relationship she has with our patients and prides herself in knowing names and faces so that they feel like family. She goes above and beyond to provide you with the best experience possible. When shes not at work, Ashley enjoys spending time with her family and friends, the beach, and visiting local wineries.

Angie graduated from Rappahannock County High School in 1995. She has over 20 years of experience in the dental field and has been with Warrenton Dentistry since 2007. Patient relationships are, by far, Angies favorite part of dentistry. She has such a sincere heart for people. Our patients truly become friends and family with her. Angie takes pride in pursuing the insurance companies to get the best insurance benefits possible for our patients. She spends countless hours on the phone, fighting for you to get what you deserve! It takes far more than one denial for her to give up! Angie grew up in Rappahannock County and now lives in Luray. She has been married to her husband, Greg since 2000, they have a daughter, Abigail, and a dog, Buddy. Angie loves to read, go to the beach, and visit Lancaster, PA. She loves spending time with her family, friends, and her church family!

Madisyn graduated from Liberty High School in 2019 and immediately started taking classes at Lord Fairfax Community College. Madisyn has been a patient of ours since she was a little girl and is now pursing her career in dental hygiene. In Madisyns free time she enjoys spending time with friends and family, reading and relaxing while watching her favorite shows with Starbucks in hand.

Caleb is the eldest child of Dr. Jamie Childress. He has been working with our team as a dental assistant and sterilization tech since he was 14 years old. Caleb will begin his pre-dental studies at Virginia Tech in the Fall of 2022. He plans to complete dental school and return home to join us at Warrenton Dentistry.

Brenda graduated in 2001 from Osbourn High School in Manassas. Brenda attended Heritage College in Manassas and received her certification in massage therapy. Afterward, she went to MIHT College of Technology for Medical & Dental Assisting. She has many years of experience in the dental field including endodontics, Oral Surgery, and now here at Warrenton Dentistry focusing on General Dentistry. Brenda has been with us since 2021. She is currently studying Business Management at Northern Virginia Community College. Brenda married her husband Jake in 2020 and she has one son. She loves animals and has a Labrador & a Shih Tzu. She loves gardening, and spending time in her church and with her friends and family. Brenda is fluent in Spanish!

Cesar graduated from Fauquier High School in 2011. He has over 9 years of experience as a dental assistant. He loves all aspects of dentistry; he even teaches dental assisting at the DATS school when hes not here assisting at Warrenton Dentistry. Cesar loves traveling, getting to know new people, and visiting new places. He enjoys long walks, the outdoors, festivals, and electronic music. He most recently was introduced to country music- which he loves, his current favorite song is Fancy Like by Walker Hayes. Cesar also has a love for animals. Cesar is bi-lingual and is always willing to help our Spanish-speaking patients!

Leaya graduated from Northern Virginia Community College with her Associates in Dental Hygiene in 2008 and later went to Old Dominion University where she completed her bachelors degree in Dental Hygiene. She is certified to provide Nitrous Oxide & administer Local Anesthesia. Leaya loves her job and enjoys talking to and getting to know each one of her patients. In her free time, Leaya enjoys spending time with her 3 children and her 3 dogs! Her weekends mostly consist of catching her sons basketball games.

Born on December 4, 2015, Charlee began working in our office when she was 8 weeks old! Our staff and patients immediately fell in love with her and her sweet temperament! Charlee went away for formal training with OffLeash K9 training when she was 5 months old. She was trained officially as a therapy/emotional support animal. Charlee absolutely loves her job and takes her responsibilities to heart! She loves to greet patients as they come in the office and to sit in their laps while they are receiving dental care. In her free time, Charlee enjoys belly rubs, long naps and treats! Peanut butter is her most favorite thing in the whole wide world!

Even a healthy mouth is lined with bacteria. Normally, your daily oral hygiene routine helps prevent oral health complications. However, it is possible to develop an excess of bacteria and fungi, which can lead to additional problems. Heres what you should know about oral thrush and what you can do to prevent it.

Oral thrush is caused by a collection of the fungus Candida in your mouth. Bacteria and fungi occur naturally in your mouth, but it is important that they are not permitted to build up. Thrush can appear as white, thick scrapes on your tongue or inner cheek. It may also look like patchy, white sores.

Young children, infants, and the elderly are at a higher risk of developing oral thrush. If you have a weakened immune system or diabetes, it is even more important that you stay active to keep your mouth healthy and prevent issues like oral thrush. Smokers also tend to develop oral thrush more than other patients.

Oral thrush can lead to trouble swallowing and tasting. As it develops, it can become painful. Oral thrush can make affected areas feel like they are burning, and slight bleeding can occur if you are scraping your tongue or cheeks. Some describe the feeling as having cotton in their mouth.

Our best recommendation for preventing oral thrush is a vigilant daily oral hygiene routine that includes a thorough brushing and flossing of your teeth, and includes your tongue.
