Dr. Kevin Ward is our dentist and owner of Ward Dental Care. Born and raised in Oak Hill, Fayette County, WV, Dr. Ward stayed in his home state on the pathway to becoming a dentist, as he attended West Virginia University School of Dentistry and graduated in 1993. Upon his graduation, Dr. Ward became a Naval Dental Officer in the United States Navy, where he stayed for eight years. From there, he became an associate dentist in Harpers Ferry for three years. In 2006, Dr. Ward opened his own practice, Ward Dental Care, where he has been ever since. Outside of work, Dr. Ward is a father of three children, and enjoys excercising, biking, running, playing tennis, fishing, and swimming. He also keeps an aquarium.

Dr. Ward was one of the best dentists I've seen. I'd recommend going here to anyone. Very nice and friendly.

***WARNING*** Use Dr Ward at your own risk. My teeth are not straight when Dr Ward was supposed to make them straight, and now I have to find another dentist to fix them correctly. I pointed the problem out to Dr Ward at which point he seemed personally offended and told me to "point to where you want fixed and I'll fix it". I've never seen another doctor or dentist be so unprofessional. He basically wanted me to do his job. In addition, they told me an incorrect time for my appointment so I arrived an hour early due to their mistake. I wish zero stars was an option.

The staff and drs are amazing here. I am TERRIFIED of dentists and they were very patient and explained everything I was getting done and what he was doing as he did it.definitely recommend this place

I'm very pleased with Dr. Ward and his staff. They have been very kind to me from the time I made my appointment until now. His office staff has been more than helpful. I'm visually impaired and they enlarged the forms in order for me to fill them out. They also looked over them and helped me fill out any blank area I missed. No questions asked as well as respecting my privacy. Dr. Ward was very nice, answered all of my questions, and he took his time making sure I knew all of my options as to what to do next, why, and the financial aspects too. I left there with a great plan and we are on the same place. Very pleased.

Over the years I have seen five different dentists. Once I found Dr. Ward my search ended. In a pure and simple statement.... Dr Ward is the best. He and his staff take a professional, personal and in-depth interest not only in your dental health but they truly get to know you. Because of some early experiences in my life, I had a major fear factor of dentists. Dr. Ward and staff's concern and care has made me feel relaxed during each visit. I have now been with him for around ten years. If you are searching for a new dentist look no further than Dr. Ward. HE IS THE BEST!

This guy is a joke. Didn't give the right antibiotics. Costed $50 then had to go find a different dentistry but thanks for nothing. The minute I pulled up and saw the ward banner looking ghetto I knew something wasn't right!!!

I am one that fears having dental work. I must say Dr Ward is very professional and explains everything in great detail. I had some work done on my teeth today 11/4/20 and couldn't be happier with my experience and much less stressful compared to previous dental offices. Highly recommend Dr Ward for any dental needs. Also the receptionist and assistants are very sweet and go out of their way to communicate with you about your insurance and needs. Couldn't be happier!

In response to the reviewer "iammetcash", I have worked in the dental field before, and it IS NOT uncommon for a dentist who CAN do some root canals, to refer to an endodontist for others... If a canal is calcified, if the tooth has had a previous root canal, if a crack is suspected in the tooth that is not visible on an x-ray, and among other reasons, a dentist may refer you to an endodontist instead of doing the root canal themselves, as an endodontist has microscopes and other instruments a general dentist does not have. As for waiting 6 weeks, it is not Ward Dental's fault the Endodontist had a full schedule and could not see you before then. I am assuming Ward dental did all they could for you including calling in an antibiotic to help with the pain from infection, until you could get into seeing the endodontist. I think it is a poor review, and deceptive giving this establishment a 1 star rating, simply because you may misunderstand the dynamics. I personally have been to Ward dental care and he is an awesome dentist and does EVERYTHING he can to steer you in the right direction with your dental health. He provides every available option to you and goes as far as to show you the x-ray or image of the tooth and explain in detail what you need and why. It is a smaller office, and although sometimes it may be difficult to get through on the phone as the other reviewer stated, this is because they are small office and may only have one person available to answer the phone at any given time. So I would never hold that against them. They are always polite, respectful, and do they're very best to make sure you are satisfied with your dental healthcare.

IT IS review day!! Wow! Who even wants to go to the dentist? Then to call and constantly get a machine? Then when you do, you have to deal with attitudes and office staff which are less than helpful, and really just obtuse. How a dentist can refer you to another, and then make you wait over 6 weeks with a busted tooth, needing a root canal is mind-boggling. The fact that any doctor has no pull or carry any clout could with a constituent is mind-boggling, but that you would not give a patient a temp filling, a cleaning of the decay or damaged spot and allow them to wait over 6 weeks to be seen by their referral is outrageous. When a dentist represents they do a root canal on their site, and they are not an endodontist they will not do your root canal. These "dentists" only do a root canal that suits them, and then refer you out to someone they have no relationship with. Having to call around in THREE other states because a loser like Dr. Lori L. Gochenour's office and staff would have you lose a tooth before wanting to help you. ALL WV dentists will PULL your teeth! It is a pull the tooth mentality here. I would travel to a major city and happily pay a "real" professional the same fee than some backwood hick WV dentist who says "okay, you can swallow" instead of having a spit bowl or suction line. This is WV, not NYC, Philadelphia, DC, or even Winchester! Good luck to you with your dental emergencies. If you have months to wait to see a "dentist" than more power to you!

I havent been to a dentist in years because of anxiety and bad dentists previously but Dr.Ward and his staff are awesome. He is very nice and once he learned of my anxiety he started joking and changing the subject. I got a root canal and had to be numned. Previous dental experiences left me in pain from the needles and such when the numbness wore off but not this time. I dont know what he does different but ill never see another dentist but him!!
