Dr. Millie Cortes, a Puerto Rico native, attended college and dental school at the University of Puerto Rico in San Juan. After earning her dental degree, she was accepted to the postgraduate dental program at NOVA Southeastern University, where she continued to gain experience with complicated dental treatment plans and comprehensive case planning. Her eagerness to learn led her to accept a position as a dental resident at the Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio, which is a Level I Trauma Center. Her experience there allowed her to learn how to manage medically compromised patients of all ages. After her residency at Miami Valley Hospital, she then attended the University of Puerto Rico School of Dentistry to complete her specialty license in pediatric dentistry.
Dr. Cortes believes that the best ways to ensure oral health throughout life are to begin educating children at an early age, enabling them to establish a trusting, pleasant relationship with the dentist and the dental environment. This philosophy and the love she has for children inspired her to specialize in pediatric dentistry. In her free time, Dr. Cortes enjoys going to the beach with her family and playing sports with her husband.
