Dr. Mary Walton was born in Raleigh, North Carolina. She is a graduate of theUniversity of North Carolina at Chapel Hillwhere shereceived her Bachelor of Science degree in pre-dental studies in 1984 and her Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 1987. After a two-year hospital dentistry residency at theUniversity of Virginia, she attended theUniversity of Michiganfor her Master of Sciences in Orthodontics.
Dr. Walton served for 12 years as a clinical instructor at the University of Michigan Department of Orthodontics while maintaining a large private practice in orthodontics in Ann Arbor, Michigan. During that time, she also served six years on the Board of Directors of theMichigan Association of Orthodontists. She is aDiplomate of the American Board of Orthodonticsand is a member of theAmerican Association of Orthodontists.
In 2003, Dr. Walton relocated to Raleigh, North Carolina, in order to be closer to family and to enjoy the milder winters. She spends most of her leisure time outdoors with her five dogs of various breeds, and she enjoys gardening and raising goats and various types of poultry on her familys farm.
Dr. Elizabeth Mareadygraduated from theUniversity of Virginiain 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and received her Doctorate of Dental Medicine fromNova Southeastern University, where she graduated with highest honors and was elected into theOmicron Kappa Upsilonhonor society. After dental school, Dr. Maready completed her specialty training in orthodontics at theUniversity of Minnesotawhile earning a Master of Science degree in Dentistry. She is a certified Invisalign provider.
Dr. Maready practiced in Durham, North Carolina, prior to moving to the Cary area. She is a member of theAmerican Association of Orthodontists, theSouthern Association of Orthodontists, and theNorth Carolina Association of Orthodontists.
Originally from Lincoln, Nebraska, Dr. Maready grew up studying classical ballet and has trained with companies such as Boston Ballet, School of American Ballet, and American Ballet Theater, as well as New York Universitys Tisch School of the Arts. Her husband is a native of North Carolina and a North Carolina State University and Wake Forest University alum. They have three children, Alexander, Henry and William. When away from the office, Dr. Maready enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, reading, and the performing arts. She is grateful to have the opportunity to help patients achieve a beautiful smile, and she looks forward to meeting you soon!

I selected Dr. Walton for Invisalign services over others in the Raleigh area because I was impressed with the plan she laid out for me in my initial visit. From there, everything essentially went according to plan. Dr. Walton showed genuine attentiveness to any questions I had in my check-ins and she was a great communicator. I am ecstatic about my teeth now!

I love the Walton and Maready team! I'm always taken care of, I'm in and out every time. I unfortunately had a terrible experience somewhere else and I transferred to them and it has been such a wonderful trade. The whole team is kind, polite and professional! I can't recommend them enough! I wish I stared my orthotics with them!

A friend at the gym recommended me with Dr. Maready a couple of years back. I finally made up my mind and went for my first visit in February 2021. Started my whole Invisalign process and I could not be happier with the results, the professionalism, the friendliness of Dr. Maready and everybody in their team. At some point, one of my 'attachments' fell and Dr. Walton took me in next day! Awesome all around.

My daughter started with Dr.Walton less than a year ago. We are so pleased with her progress and the plan laid out to aid her bite/teeth for both aesthetics and long term healthy teeth. The staff is wonderful. Dr.Walton is so pleasant and highly skilled in her craft. I do not hesitate to recommend them!

Dr Walton has taken so much time to make sure I understand my options after complications elsewhere. She has also collaborated with other providers to make sure we are doing the right thing in the right order. I appreciate her communication and attention to detail. Her staff is friendly and professional. So far a great experience and I'm just getting started. I will definitely take my kids to this practice when they need braces.

I'm about 2 months in with my Invisalign, and I've been very happy with the care I've been given by Dr. Walton and her staff. Dr. Walton provided me ample time in my first appointment to learn about this procedure, ask questions, and get to know her and the office personnel. Since then, appointments have been on time, quick and efficient, while also personable. I'm glad I chose Dr. Walton for this treatment!

We have had a great experience here. The orthodontist has been friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. We never have to wait and the appointments are quick. The cost is about the same as other orthodontists and they don't pressure you into getting braces to begin with. All in all- would highly recommend.

Both my kids had braces put on elsewhere. For our third set I am delighted we found Walton and Maready. They are so attentive and kind and assuring. The office is bright and clean and has a beautiful garden to look out at. The office is also intimate and not like my previous experience where the ortho could fit 15 kids at a time and not even remember our name. Also, my child required surgery after his braces and the doctors worked well with his surgeon sharing information quickly and accurately. After the surgery the Ortho office sent us beautiful flowers and a lovely note. Greatest experience ever!
