I had a terrible experience with Waltham Family Dental. If you purchase their insurance plan, be wary. I believe I was taken advantage of for being on this plan because they knew it would be difficult for me to go anywhere else without insurance. First of all, the dentists are extremely rude. They had the worst bedside manner I've ever experienced and I've been to many dentists over the years. They always seemed to be in a rush and they don't even take a moment to greet you. I was told I had 6 cavities on my first visit (and I've never had a cavity before). I was rattled by this, especially because this would be extremely difficult for me to afford. I asked what this means moving forward (knowing that sometimes cavities are not always filled if they are minor). The dentist coldly said "it means you have 6 cavities". I was told to schedule an appointment to get them filled with the front desk and she left without further discussion. I ended up getting all 6 fillings done with them but my bite felt uneven so I went back for an adjustment. The same dentist kept saying there was nothing wrong with my bite even though I could feel it was off and was experiencing pain. I had to go back another 3 times after the fillings to get my bite adjusted because she was dismissive about the issue and I felt uncomfortable asking for help. I then went back for a second cleaning months later, still experiencing some pain from one of the fillings. The first thing the hygienist tells me is that there's a note from the dentist that I need a root canal on one of my teeth. The dentist never discussed this with me during all of the visits I had previously. I was very anxious for the entire cleaning and the hygienist kept asking me why I was upset. Finally a dentist I had never seen before comes in and I immediately ask about the root canal. She brushes it off and says that they always write notes that patients may need root canals. I think this is so that they can keep a record that can be used to justify charging people for unnecessary procedures. I then told this dentist that I had been experiencing pain for months since the fillings and she told me it was not the uneven fillings, but that I need to completely realign my bite with metal braces top and bottom. Then why didn't any dentist I've seen throughout my life recommend this? Turns out, once she made the adjustment for the filling (the 4th one I needed), I no longer experienced pain, so it was in fact a result of sloppy and careless work from the first dentist. The feeling I had of being dependent on this office for all of my care while on their insurance plan was terrible. People of low income are taken advantage of here. I ended up paying $1200 out of pocket for my fillings and, in hindsight, I really wish I had gone to another dentist to confirm that the fillings were needed. It's just hard when you don't have a good insurance plan. Be careful with this place.

THEY CHARGE YOU ADDITIONAL AFTER VIIST. Went there for cleaning and was told I need deep cleaning. After I checked with the front desk that they accept my dental insurance Metlife PDP Dental and give me a quote for the price after insurance, I have my deep cleaning. 6 month later, they are start to mail and call me, telling me that they failed to charge the insurance company and I need to cover the charge of the insurance company, which is additional 600+ USD They refuse to talk to insurance company again, while they are telling me to send my account info to credit bureau and collection company. GO FOR IT.

On a trip from Ohio, visiting friends in Waltham, I broke a piece of my rear molar crown. What was left was jagged and tearing up the side of my poor tongue. The wonderful folks of Waltham Dental made space for me to assist me in the best way possible. As I was traveling from out of state, my insurance would not cover my trip. Waltham Family Dental took this into consideration while evaluating what could be done to make the rest of my stay in Waltham comfortable. Thank you Waltham Family Dental! Very caring and compassionate people!
