Dr. Walter R. Below earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree at the University of Louisvilles School of Dentistry in 1981 and he opened his practice in 1982 after graduating from his residency program. He began with three charts in the files, his mother, his brother, and himself. The practice has grown from services offered to advanced technology. Dr. Below has continuedpracticing in Westlake for the past 30+ years.
He is a Fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry and a General Member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. He is also a member of the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology and American Association of Hospital Dentists.
Currently, Dr. Below strives to stay ahead of the curve on the new techniques and information available to better serve his patients. He participates in over a hundred hours of continuing education each year, which far exceeds state licensing requirements. Dr. Below also has memberships in organizations, like the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, which are focused on the future of dentistry from a scientific and/or esthetic perspective.
Dr. Below was nominated by his peers, passed rigorous scrutiny, and was accepted into the International College of Dentists. His fellowship in this prestigious organization was bestowed at the annual meeting of the American Dental Association in October 24, 2003. The Cap and Gown Ceremony was held in San Francisco.
On a personal note: Dr. Below was accepted into the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels, an honor given to those with ties to the commonwealth of Kentucky. He graduated from both the University of Kentucky for his Undergraduate degree and from the University of Louisville for his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree.

Ive been in the dental field for 24 years. I started working as a Dental Assistant then went into Dental Hygiene. I enjoy working with patients to help them reach the best optimal oral health possible. In my free time I enjoy baking for family and friends.

Back in 2018, when I wanted to have my tooth gap fixed, I went to Some dental clinic near by my house and rather than listening to what I want to get it done, they tried to sell me their products and never got to done and I quit going to them. After that, I had my regular cleaning session but gave up on my tooth gap concern.. I now live in Westlake and was looking for dentist near me and happen to found Dr Below website. I saw all good reviews and thought of going for consultation around my tooth gap. Everyone in the office is so friendly and customer service oriented. Talking about the doctor, I mean he is THE BEST. Dr Below is one of the friendliest dentist I have ever met. He listens to his client what they want to get it done and layout all the options and give detailed pros and cons of each process. The first day of my consultation, he took time to explain me all the options I had to fix my front tooth gap. I wanted to see if my tooth gap is eligible for tooth bonding.. Doctor gave me demo of how it looks on my tooth. Honestly, I was very impressed on the first day of consultation. And finally today, I did dental/tooth bonding to have my gap fixed. He also made sure my tooth length looks ok and did an amazing job. I used to hide my mouth to smile and never opened my mouth to show my teeth for pictures. Now I can freely smile since the gap is gone. All thanks to Dr.Walter Below.

Very good, caring, dentist with an awesome staff! Matter of fact I won't go anywhere else, Dr Below put my fears to rest and saved a tooth that I had been told needed to be pulled out. I'm so glad I found this dentist and I highly recommend him.
