Indemnity or Traditional Insurance reimburses members or dentists at the dentists UCR (Usual, Customary & Reasonable fee). This allows the subscriber to go to any dental office without being limited to a panel.
Also known as capitated or prepaid insurance, was designed to provide members with basic care at the lowest rate. Participating providers receive a monthly capitation check for patients assigned to the office. This amount is only a few dollars and is intended to offset the administrative costs. HMOs generally dont pay for services rendered. Fees are usually greatly reduced, but the patient is solely responsible for paying the doctor. Unfortunately, we arent a HMO office.
Dr. Rong earned his Bachelors degree in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics in 1997 and his Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) in 2002 at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). After receiving his D.D.S. he practiced dentistry at various dental offices which include the Fairgrove Dental Center in La Puente, CA as an Associate Dentist, at NTM Dental Office in Long Beach, CA as a Managing Dentist and at The Sylmar Family Dental Group in Sylmar, CA as an Associate Dentist. With years of experience, Dr. Rong has obtained mastery in cosmetic dentistry, endodontic, oral surgery, pediatric dentistry, orthodontics (invisalign I certified) and soft laser certification. His exceptional skills were well recognized at UCLA Dental School, where he received the departmental honor for endodontic and oral biology.
Karen brings over 20 years of dental experience to our practice. She is a registered dental assistant and certified insurance biller. Karen is very knowledgeable with our office policies and handles extensively with insurance companies. She is very personal and friendly. In her spare time, she enjoys working in her yard and baking.
Ruby is a graduate from the Bryman College. She also has over 20 years of dental experience. She is a registered dental assistant and highly trained infection control specialist. Ruby is compassionate and caring. In her spare time, she enjoys shopping and listening to music.
Carol offers to the our office over 20 years of experience in dentistry. She has worked in wide range of Dental Specialties. She is friendly and passionate. In her spare time, she enjoys friends, church and family.
We are very please to welcome Silviya whom had been working with Dr. Tanaka until he retired to our practice in 2016. Silviya brings to Walter Dental her many years of experience in dentistry. She is friendly, compassionate, professional and caring. She delivers a highly effective and individualized hygiene maintenance regimen thru education and root planing. Silviya completed her dentalhygiene program at USC and is a bigTrojan fan. She enjoys her iced tea, hiking and gardening in her spare time.

The entire workforce appears to enjoy one another's company which makes the office a pleasant place to be for the patient. I feel that the dental hygienist and the dentist are very knowledgeable and give thorough exams.

Great office with a good staff. And on top of that, Dr. Walter Rong is honest, nice and professional. I really appreciate their service. I live in San Fernando Valley and drive to Covina because of the quality of work I receive.

The quality of professional service afforded by Dr. Rong and all of the staff is excellent. Dr. Walter and his team are absolutely the best! I have been a patient there for about two years. The entire staff is knowledgeable, friendly and have excellent time management skills. The front desk ladies, Karen and Ruby, will greet you with warmth and kindness. They place you in a clean room almost immediately. The teeth cleaning and ex-ray ladies are quick, friendly and detailed. Dr. Walter is the icing on the cake, he is a friendly dentist who wants his patients to have healthy teeth. He will advise his patients what is best for their teeth health- he will not scam you. He takes pictures of your teeth to show you exactly how they look and he will show you on the ex-ray what cavities look like, so the patient can spot them. Also, he will check each tooth for signs of healthy gums or gingivitis. I reccomend giving them a try, I am glad I did and I l'm sure you wont be disappointed. Oh and they give a follow up call the next day to make sure the patient isnt experiencing any discomfort. Customer service is top priority at this dental office.
