Walnut Grove Smiles: Heather Wilson DDS - General dentist in Omaha, NE

Dr. Heather Wilson has had a passion for healthcare and art from a very young age. Growing up in Washington, KS, she worked as a nursing assistant at the county hospital where she realized her capacity for care and compassion. Meanwhile, winning numerous awards for paintings and drawings at art shows, she discovered she could utilize these skills together through dentistry.

In 2006, Dr. Wilson graduated from the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry. For the last eight years, she has been caring for patients in Omaha and Grand Island, NE. She is affiliated with the American Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), American Academy of Facial Esthetics (AAFE), American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD), and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists(ICOI).

Believing that we should never stop learning, Dr. Wilson seeks out opportunities to expand her knowledge through education. Her long list of continuing education includes Invisalign, Dermal Fillers, Frontline TMJ and Facial Pain Treatment, Implant Placement, Implant Restorations, Occlusion, Cosmetic Dentistry and Root Canals.

Have been a patient of Dr Wilson's for a couple of years and finally took the plunge to try Invisalign with her after her encouragement to do so. Fully knew it'd be a 12-18 month journey but didn't do my research on her skill set on the process. I would not recommend her for Invisalign I would encourage everyone to review grade levels on Invisalign's website prior to paying for treatment to ensure they have the skills and knowledge to treat a range of clients.

I went to Walnut Grove Dental after I decided to see a dentist closer to my home. My wife had seen Dr. Wilson a few months earlier for some dental implant work and was so happy with her experience that she switched to her. I too am completely satisfied with my visit. Everyone, starting with the front desk receptionists, the hygienist, and Dr Wilson were very friendly, supportive, and professional. My dental records from my previous dentist and my insurance information as far as coverage were obtained before my cleaning was completed. The cleaning and exam were thorough and stress free. I would highly recommend Dr Wilson, her staff, and Walnut Grove Dental.

Dr. Wilson is a rare exception to the rule. One can usually expect to tolerate their dentist, but Dr. Wilson was kind, empathetic, and exceptionally good at what she does. Ditch your current dentist in favor of Dr. Wilson. You will not regret it!

I am a new patient Walnut Groove Dental. I move here about 6 months ago and needed a new dentist. My dental insurance listed Dr. Wilson as one of the dentist in my area that accepted my insurance. I visited the office and met with their friendly staff. I completed the new patient forms and made an appointment for my 6 month cleaning and check up. They also contacted my previous dentist and obtained my dental records prior to my first appointment. On appointment day, they were ready for me at my appointment time. The dental hygienist and Dr. Wilson did a thorough job cleaning and evaluating my teeth. I would highly recommend Walnut Gove Dental.

Above and beyond! I cannot express how OVER satisfied my husband and I are with this practice. Customer service EXCEPTIONAL. We were scheduled toward the end of the month initially, after a follow up call from the office manager it was her suggestion we be moved up do to the severity of discomfort and pain my husband was going thru. There was even a follow up call AFTER the follow up call. Dr. Wilson and her office staff don't just go thru the motions and they are genuinely concern about their prospective patients. As far as bedside manner, we were informed in detail what to expect, what was priority, what could wait. There were no surprises on any procedures. And options upon options were given, as well as time to digest what was told without feeling hurried or pressured. Lastly the payment options are phenomenal, this is a dental practice aware of the cost of living increase as well as the hardships many have endured due to the pandemic. There's a payment plan for all. Please excuse my rant, but it's been a while since I've had a business I can rant and rave about. Don't hesitate, they are who you are looking for indeed.

Dentist was nice at first, but I questioned her services after she started shaking during one of my fillings. She also moved from a different location possibly due to financial hardship. At the time of the move, she hired a new receptionist who was very, very rude to me and very accusatory. It was the strangest experience ever. I wish I would have left sooner. I was there for about a year. I would never recommend this dentist or dental clinic. I consulted with my orthodontist who recommended a dentist/dental clinic that was much professional and kind. I'm a little confused at the 5-star ratings. If you do go there, beware of the receptionist. Sometimes I wonder if my horrible experience was due to me being a person of color. I shouldn't have to think this but it definitely crossed my mind.

I went to walnut grove after an emergency dental service because I found out the place i had gone (which was awesome of course) was not in my network. I called ahead to let them know what was going on and they assured me it would be fine. When I went for my appointment they were very friendly and helpful while taking molds...but I continued to notice pain in my tooth 2 weeks later. I called and told them what was going on and they said to give it some time. I reminded them that it had been two weeks and they set up another appt. I went in again, but STILL had pain and called again to let them know...only to be told again to give it time. They said my mouth probably hurt because I had a cold. I went in one more time and STILL had pain after they "fixed" my tooth. I tried calling back and left messages, but never heard from anyone. When I finally DID get through to an actual person they said they had been trying to reach me and kept getting a busy signal...to which I said "That shouldn't be happening. My phone still lets me know when I am have missed calls, AND you can leave a message...so there shouldn't have been any issues getting through." At that point they said they would call me back to reschedule and then I never heard from them again. I called and left more messages, they were never returned. Today, the tooth they had "fixed" broke...so now I have to go back to the dentist....a different dentist. So disappointing, rude, and frustrating :(
