Dr. Wallace F. Chong, III was born and raised in Hilo, and graduated from Waiakea High School Magna Cum Laude in 1993. He went on to graduate from Indiana University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology Degree in 1997. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from Indiana University School of Dentistry in 2001. After passing his State ofHawaii Dental Board Exams, he began practicing at Wallace F. Chong, DDS, Inc in 2001. Dr. Chong is a former Hawaii County Dental Society secretary and president. He stays up-to-date with dental procedures by being a member of a SPEAR Study Club and is a consultant examiner for ADEX exams.

Jenn began at Wallace F. Chong, DDS, Inc. in 2009, as the shyoffice 'baby'. As time went on, her personality grew, and now, you can easily hear her from across the office!! (&That 's her normal'inside' voice, haha!) She enjoys talking about treatment planswith patients, and she 's your go-to girl when it comes to insurance questions, as she 's been dealing with our office insurance claimssince2012.
Jasminjoined theWallace F. Chong, DDS, Inc. familyin 2010. She enjoysthe days she gets to assist Dr. Chong, as it gives them time to talk about the things they have in common: their love of food and the outdoors. She's outgoing and free-spirited, and has the ability to communicate and connect with all of our patients, no matter their age, life-style, hobbies, etc.

Dr Chong and his staff has always been amazing! Patient, understanding and caring. I've had all of my children go to him from when they were little and they were never afraid to "see the dentist". They are like family. Highly recommend!

Grateful for the care that I received at Dr. Chong's office. He constantly assessed how I was doing throughout the procedure and made sure I was comfortable as can be. Staff was very friendly, informative and professional as well. Already making plans to bring my wife and two children for check-ups.

Recently moved back to Hilo. Was a patient here when it was his father running the practice. Still great service, and bedside manner. Very gentle. Highly recommend.

My fiance and I moved to Hilo a few months ago and had the hardest time finding a new dentist but we're so glad we stumbled upon Dr. Chong! I like that he offers both general dentistry and cosmetics. He works fast and efficient....not too mention, it's so nice to see a big island local doing great things! The team is very friendly. Love the Lego decor. Parking is a little rough but only because I can't parallel.... Other than that- def recommend!

Today, leaving Dr Wally's office I ran into my original Dr Wally (Jr, I believe, Dr Wally's dad and my original Dr Wally), and told both Dr and Mrs Wally, "Wally is a PRO, he's the best".....Dr Wally looked at me seriously and straight-faced and asked, "better than me?"....I just busted out laughing and said, "kids ALWAYS do better than their parents and grandparents"....they both smiled.... Dr Wally, my dentist, is a PRO...da best!!!

I made an appointment for my grandma at this office because I wanted her to have the best care available in Hilo. She was very anxious since she had not been to the dentist in a long time ,so much that she had difficulty sleeping the night before. The team here made her feel at ease, and she was impressed by the cleanliness and quality of technology. Im glad I made the right choice, thank you Dr Chong and Staff for taking care of my tutu!

I really liked this Dentist Office! They are not specifically a pediatric dentist, but they do provide pediatric services as part of their offering. I had seen them recommended on a Facebook group so I decided to give them a try. Our old dentist would not allow us to go in with our son, (aged 4), and we were looking for an alterative. Dr. Chong is so nice, and so is his staff! It was the first time my son actually sat in the chair and he was even helping the dentist to examine his teeth by cooperating. Dr. Chong just has a really good presence about him with kids, and the office has a great feeling to it. So relieved that we have found a new dentist.

Some time ago I had chipped my front tooth when I was in LA. I had it fixed in LA by an "upscale" dentist and then, moved to Hilo. Within 6 month the cosmetic work done in LA failed and I had my chipped tooth back. I found Dr. Chong here in Hilo and I am glad I did. It's been a few years since Dr. Chong did the cosmetic work on that tooth and it's still going strong. Great guy, very professional. I would give 10 stars if I could.
