This place is fantastic both the nurses and Dr. Hum could sense my anxiety and they did a great job with the procedure. The most impressive part was that Dr. Hum actually called me to check in to see how I was doing that same night. Most offices would have only had a staff person call if they called at all. I would highly recommend this place and would go back if I need more work done. Although I really hope I do not need more work.

Dr. Hum and his staff are professional, knowledgeable and kind. I had a dental emergency during covid that ultimately required getting referred to Dr. Hum for an extraction and an implant. Not only did they practice covid protocol with the utmost care, they made me feel very safe, comfortable and at ease during a procedure that was very difficult for me emotionally. I cannot recommend their practice enough. Side note - Dr. Hum also removed my wisdom teeth when I was younger and it was just coincidence that my new dentist referred me to him for this procedure. I'd say that's a testament to his long standing reputation in the dental community. If you have a major dental procedure, I would highly urge you to consult with Dr. Hum and his practice.

I have never left a review. And so I am sorry to say I have to this time . This business required a consultation to have a tooth removed ( that was painfully infected ) even though 3 months ago I met with the dentist and he took a full set of exams. Nevertheless , I agreed and set an appt. I was 10-15 min late due to an accident of 440 and they refused to see me. They would not let me in the door. They said I could reschedule (but it was 45 min from my house. ) I begged to wait because I needed the appt to remove this week. The nurse /manager said NO , NO and NO because I would hold up the next client. He was not there I will not be back. No flexibility for any in pain there

They explained the fees and process in detail. He put in a dental implant and I had no pain or difficulties. I would highly recommend them. Implants however are expensive.

Had the misfortune of needed 2 teeth extracted this year. But the good fortune of having Dr. Hum do the extractions for me both times. Dr. Hum and his team are all very gentle and calming - and it was over before I knew it both times.

The women made my appointment was very nice but only Because they were about to charge me $200+ for a consultation. I cancelled my appointment because I simply couldn't afford it and they still sent me a charge of $25. The lady I called about was so rude and just hung up the phone on me while i was still talking saying I simply couldn't afford. It's sad that a place charges people a fee that can't afford their overly priced charges.

I was referred to this surgeon by the dentist for an oral surgery. I have a high threshold for pain but I underwent a procedure that was extremely painful and traumatizing. I decided to pay my expenses out of pocket the day of so I did not have to worry about additional bills later on and they told me how much the fee would be and told me that my insurance would probably not cover this because it was out of network. I agreed and paid to only find out a month later that I owed double that. I had to fight with my insurance company who said Dr. Hum had charged me much more the market rate and they were having issues covering some of the procedure. While I was working with my insurance agency to have these costs covered Dr. Hums office was charging me a service fee of $10 per month and we all know how long an insurance cycle can take. When I brought it up with them they told me it would be taken care of when my insurance came in. It was not. By the time the insurance came in, I had accrued months of "service fees" which they would not remove from the bill. This place will upcharge you, lie to you, and take your money.

I have extreme dental anxiety and had successfully avoided wisdom tooth removal for 15 years. But when I got my second infection in 2 years I knew I needed to act. There are no oral surgeons in the city where I live, so I researched my options in Raleigh. I felt confident after reading over a hundred patient reviews of Dr. Hum and Wake OMS, and they did not disappoint! Not only did they answer all of my questions thoroughly, everyone was incredibly kind, considerate, and understanding. I knew exactly what to expect, there were no surprises, and my surgery was a breeze (which is no small thing if you understand extreme dental anxiety). Dr. Hum even personally called to check on me the night of my surgery, on a Friday night! I was absolutely blown away on every level by Dr. Hum and all of his staff. I will always recommend Wake OMS to anyone in driving distance.
