At my recent new patient appointment, I discovered that this office expects to provide a considerably wider range of service than I am used to receiving from a dentist, need from a dentist, or am willing to pay for. Following my xrays and teeth cleaning (which were done well), I was told that my actual exam by the dentist would require a separate second appointment, and would also include a "comprehesive" evaluation of my head and neck. I have never had these extra services, and an entire separate appointment, included in any other first visit to a dentist that I can recall. I asked how much of this might be covered by insurance, and didn't get an answer. I asked if the dentist could just check my teeth and gums that day, as I was expecting, and they declined. So I didn't book the second apppointment. If you schedule an appointment here, just be certain that you understand what will be included, and what the costs will be.

My dental hygienist was Skippy. I did X-rays and a cleaning. She was really good at letting me know what to expect and took lots of care while working with me. I have very sensitive teeth and she offered a numbing gel, free of charge. She also checked in on me every time she had to do something she thought might irritate my gums. You can tell the worker here really care about the patient as a whole, not just getting teeth cleaned.

Dr. Leesa is the absolute best dentist. Meticulous, focused, kind and friendly! The office staff are very well trained and efficient, as are the dental hygienists. They also have been doing a great job to follow protocols for Covid. I have had a ton of dental work in my life and I very highly recommend this practice.

Fantastic in all areas! Dr. Miyasato and of her staff are the best. Having moved to the area six months ago I had to select a dentist and I'm pretty sure I picked the best one. She has and uses all of the most modern technology in dental care. I would recommend Dr. Miyasato to anyone needing dental care by true professionals!

Waimea Smiles' staff and doctors are beyond exceptional, caring, kind and professional. I worked with Dr. Alex Spivak who is amazing. I came to Waimea Smiles with some pretty tough issues. Work I'd had done on the mainland, had to be completely redone. Dr. Spivak led me through the four month ordeal with aloha, always mindful of my mental, emotional and physical state. (I was very nervous around dentists). The staff is very kind and supportive and I can't say enough of how painless and easy the whole thing was. I will always be grateful to you, Alex (as he has his patients call him, (Dr. Alex). Thank you to Dr. Miyasato for finding this exceptional man and for the beautiful office (healing space) you've created. I will forever be grateful.

Dr. Alex Spivak and staff are very compassionate, professional, informative and always courteous. The last time I was at a dentist was about 4-5 years ago and had a bad experience. Waimea Smiles is a breath of fresh air; like most people, I am a 'baby' when it comes to dental work. They make you feel comfortable with pillows, blankets, coffee, tea, water and explain the work that needs to be done so that you understand before proceeding. I'm so glad that I have good Dental team on my side. Highly recommended!

My first time to see Dr. Leesa Miyasato. Leesa is so kind and took the time to thoroughly explain what she was doing and why. I had a full exam. I haven't been to a dentist in a while and recently moved to Waimea from Oahu. I am so glad to have found her! Everyone I met today are very kind and friendly and made me feel so welcomed! I quickly felt so comfortable. I highly recommend Waimea Smiles for your dental needs!! They're awesome!

After moving North from Kona I was a bit concerned about finding a dentist closer to home. Over the last couple of years I've had a chance to see just about everyone, Dr. Miyasato, Dr. Spivak, my Hygienist Tiffany and all of the support staff. Each of them have gone out of their way to answer all of my questions and provide me with the best dental care possible. Really grateful to have found this group.
