We recently celebrate 10-year anniversaries of our employees Kathy, Sherry, and Alyssa 1 at Tutto Fresco Restaurant. While we were at the restaurant, Danielle and Alyssa 2 created a catchy Wahl Family Dentistry jingle. Maybe Danielle's next destination is Madison Avenue!

While at Brandywine High School (class of 1978), Dr. Michael Wahl was accepted to the Pre-Professional Scholars Program in Dentistry at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, giving him conditional acceptance in the dental school provided he attended college there also.After three years in college, Dr. Michael was accepted into the dental school senior year in absentia.He received his BA in natural science cum laude in 1982 and his DDS in 1985.He joined his father Dr. Mervin Wahl at Wahl Family Dentistry in 1986, the day after he completed a year of general practice residency at the Medical Center of Delaware (now Christiana Care Health System).He has owned Wahl Family Dentistry since 1996.
Currently, Dr. Wahl is an assistant attending dentist at the General Practice Residency Program at Christiana Care Health System in Wilmington. He has also taught at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine and the Temple University School of Dental Medicine. He has published two books, several book chapters, and many articles in medical and dental journals.
Soon after graduating from Brandywine High School in 1983, Peggy Schmitt discussed career choices with Dr. Mervin and Mrs. Joy Wahl. Mrs. Wahl talked about what a wonderful profession dentistry was and that since Peggy loved science, it might be a good fit. While attending Boston University, Peggy's father unfortunately lost his job at Hercules Incorporated, which motivated Peggy to apply early to dental school and save the tuition. She did well enough to be accepted to Temple University School of Dental Medicine, skipping her senior year of college. During her senior year of dental school, she was selected to be a student teacher for freshman and junior dental students. After graduating from dental school, Dr. Peggy completed a general practice residency in 1991 at the Medical Center of Delaware (now Christiana Care Health Services) and has been with Wahl Family Dentistry ever since. Her articles have been published in a number of dental publications. She is also involved in politics and was a candidate for US Congress in 1992 and a candidate for Delaware State House in 1996.
Dr. Peggy loves the outdoors and has hiked the mountain ranges of Washington, Utah, Arizona, Nevada, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, and Virginia. She considers scaling Angel's Landing in Zion National Park (Utah) to be her greatest personal achievement. Dr. Peggy also enjoys restoring old homes, playing with her daughters (Zoe, 5 and Grace, 3), and providing her patients with beautiful, strong, life-changing dentistry.

I cannot say enough great things about Dr. Peggy and the entire staff. My daughter broke her tooth at camp and I called the office in a panic. Even though they were completely booked with appointments all day, they saw her immediately and fixed her broken tooth. Everyone was so understanding and Dr. Peggy is simply the best. My daughter had no fear whatsoever of the bonding process, as they explained everything they were doing. We cannot say enough great things about Wahl Family Dentistry!

I had terrible tooth ache that required a failed root canal and then an extraction on the same day by different people. Dr. Wahl was outstanding in supporting me, helping me find appointments. I would absolutely recommend this practice!!

I absolutely love this dental office. The front desk staff are all so kind and attentive and make me feel so welcome every time I visit. The dentists themselves are also extremely kind and great at what they do. I have had many problems with one tooth in particular which many dentists in the past could not fix, but Dr. Mike fixed me up in no time at all. Turns out I also had an infection I didn't even know about, and Dr. Peggy was able to refer me to the right place to get the help I needed. I am very thankful to have found such a wonderful dental office. Thank you very much for taking care of me!

I was a dental assistant for ten years and I was reluctant to take my children to a dentist I have never worked with. I was pleasantly surprised when I met Dr. Wahl. He was GREAT with my children and made an unpleasant filling appointment seem like a walk in the park for them. He came out and personally explained to me what was going on with both kids. The front desk is very nice as well. 10/10.

My experience with Wahl Dentistry was different due to a misunderstanding. This office did everything in their power to help me. They squeezed me in at the last minute, made sure I was taken care of. My experience was a waste of time i went in 2019 and had a great experience came back to a different doctor today July 19 2021 and felt like I was a patient with no money and that they did not care about my tooth ache I will never be back

I have been going to Wahl Family Dentistry for a few years now, and that in itself speaks volumes for me! (I found them after I came out of a different dentist's office and sat in that parking lot and cried because my fear and anxiety was not any less than when I walked in.) So, I searched online, read reviews, etc... and then I came across a YouTube video showcasing the Wahl Family office! When a dentist can make me feel relaxed and make me laugh before I even get in the door then I just have to give them a try. The atmosphere is lighthearted and relaxing and comforting, but the Professionalism and Dedication of the staff is undeniable. From the first phone call you get Wonderful Customer Service and a welcoming feeling. I have complete confidence that I am at the right place to continue my treatment and get my dental work done. I know there are others that have a similar anxiety about dentists and I want to share that Wahl Dentistry has been amazing at getting me back to making and keeping my appointments. They are caring and understanding of any fears. If you are looking for a Great Dentist and all-around employee group, you will find it there!

I made appt to have dental post and crown re-cemented. And even though I provided the necessary information regarding the implant, dentist insisted on getting an xray. The younger generation of dentists have not been apprised of the dangers of excessive cumulative radiation. At my advanced age, I have had hundreds of xrays and as a nurse know of the danger. It starts with a C! If it was compelling to take an xray other than to make money, no one explained it. The dentist never spoke with me but communicated through a very nice tech. In my opinion, very unprofessional. I refused the xray and left the building without treatment. I have asked my dentist who did implants, to forward copies of most recent pan-oral xrays and when I revisit Wahl, will not make another appt with this particular male at the practice.
