Dr. Stewart has been practicing childrens dentistry in the Wabash Valley and surrounding areas for over 15 years. Dr. Stewart is a 5th generation Butler University graduate. He graduated in 1996 and later attended IU School of Dentistry which is where he found his calling to work with children. I immediately enjoyed working specifically on children and knew that it was the direction I wanted to go. Dr. Stewart took many advanced pediatric courses while at dental school which further confirmed his passion for working with kids. He practiced general dentistry in Carmel, Indiana for 5 years before taking over for Dr. Zimmerman at Wabash Childrens Dentistry.
My hope is to get to know, not only all of my patients, but all the parents as well. I will personally meet with each and every parent and go over their childs treatment plan to the fullest extent. Its very important to me that parents understand how and why and what we are doing to care for their childs dental needs. I hope to get to know the kids from the beginning at age one to the finish at age 19. My goal is to establish a long term relationship with each family as their Primary Dental Care Provider and gain their trust and understanding.
Dr. Stewart is married to his wife Jill, who is a 2nd grade teacher in Carmel, Indiana. His oldest child, TJ, is 11 years old and enjoys soccer, basketball and especially tennis. Although he is great at golf, TJ does not share the same passion for the game as dad. Georgie is 7 years old and she enjoys being a girl. She loves to color, draw, try on outfits and play with her friends. Dr. Stewart says, My two favorite hobbies are golfing and running. Ive run the Boston, New York and chicago marathons all at a competitive level. Now, Ive slowed down and just enjoy going out for a run. My life is centered around my family now

Wabash Valley Children's Dentistry were amazing with my daughter! Staff was nice, office is clean, and decorated fun for children. The dentist was very informative and so good with my girl!

I am beyond angry with how the receptionist kya or Kyla was with me. I have been waiting for this appointment for my daughter for weeks and was excited to finally get everything taken care of. But this lady was rude and made no effort to try to help me. Instead my baby has to be in pain until next year! My daughter is autistic and usually gives me a hard time during her appointments which results in us being late often. In the past they were always understanding and the doctor always did his best to get her seen etc. and I'm pretty sure they have something In her file mentioning this! After todays experience I will more than likely be finding some place else to take my kids!!!

This place and the staff are amazing. The office is always clean. Whenever I've had questions or concerns, they've addressed them, and not made me feel rushed, or stupid for asking. When I called with a concern, I was transferred directly to Dr. Stewart, who addressed my concern and even gave me his personal number to contact him on over the weekend, as he would be out of town, if I had any other concerns. That alone, is above and beyond any service I've received anywhere else. They make you feel like they actually CARE! My daughter even gets EXCITED to go to the dentist now! I couldn't be happier with this place and will highly recommend to everyone I know!!

My sons experience was absolutely amazing. The lady that helped my son was gentle, calm, and extremely patient . I highly recommend Terre Haute Children's Dentistry! My son has anxiety and they made him feel so comfortable and allowed me to stay with him throughout the procedure . Shelby thank you, we appreciate you going above & Beyond . Will definitely return!

Took my son in today, he was very nervous and scared to go. Luckily the dental assistant Shelby made him feel very comfortable and at ease. I highly recommend for kids that may be intimidated by the dentist. The entire staff seemed very kind and gentle with the children.

The only dentist I will send my daughter to. The Dr. is amazing and the staff are wonderful. We especially like the dental assistant Shelby, she is wonderful. She is so kind and really knows how to make the kids feel comfortable.

What an amazing experience ... Dr John Stewart and his staff are professional and knowledgeable. It isn't often I see such great communication and customer service. Dr engaged with the children and they were so comfortable with the exam. So happy ... wholeheartedly recommend!

Its place that will not take my kids or my boyfriend I found a really good Dentist and I like that Dentist Dentist alot better.

It was my daughter's first ever dentist appointment. The staff were friendly, and we were in and out. They took her on when every other dentist office in town was rude to me about her insurance, so I'm grateful for that.

As a nervous Mom I really appreciate Dr. Stewart coming out to talk to me, giving me updates on how my child was doing during the procedure and generally just because such a comforting and kind person, couldn't recommend more!

We've had three appointments and my son does amazing I love all the nurses . Shelby Spice came in the last time and worked amazing with my son very sweet woman. All are very nice and the dentist is very patient with my child . Definitely recommend

Brought my 6 year old in for a chipped tooth that was developing a cavity. I had seen great recommendations and my daughter was excited to get to go to the dentist. There was very little wait time before the dentist introduced himself and took her to another room. I had a lot of anxiety that I was separated from her but I assumed the trained staff would be able to handle anything that could happen. Two minutes later I hear my daughter sobbing from the other room, and I hear her say "I don't want to do it" and a woman speaking over as she continued. I left the waiting area and removed my daughter from the x-ray chair and left. Any adult who said they did not want to continue with something happening in a medical procedure would be listened to, but for some reason a child is not treated with that respect. I shouldn't have had to intervene to advocate for my child when she's very well spoken herself. I know they see a lot of children but I would never want anyone to "just get it over with" and continue something that is making my kid distraught. It should have stopped and we could have made adjustments and planned a better way to continue with the appointment. Unfortunately, now my daughter is terrified of going to a dentist, I am still at square one with her damaged tooth, and my insurance will be billed for the 5 minutes we spent in the office. It's nuts to me that we have dental offices that specialize in personalized, peaceful treatments for adults that have a fear of dentists, but a pediatric dental office won't bat an eye when they're causing this fear for kids in the first place. A little patience and compassion goes a long way, especially when consent is being involved and learned. Very negative experience, and I wish I had not taken my child to this office.

My 4 year old had her first visit with Dr Stewart and the dental assistant Tiffany, everyone was very nice and interacted with her in a great way to help ease her anxiety. We didn't have a long wait and everyone wore masks, this will definitely be our new local dentist for her!

My boys had their dentist appointment today and they're still cavity free! We love Dr. John Stewart and his staff! They are always so welcoming and my kids are super comfortable with them. 10/10 would recommend.
