We also know how scary it can be to go to the dentist and orthodontist. Many people fear coming in, so we do everything that we can to provide a calm and comfortable environment. Our staff is great at what they do. They are here to discuss any of your concerns and put you at ease.
There is also nothing worse than feeling like you are not able to discuss your teeth with your orthodontist. We dont want you to feel that way, so we are all here to help answer any questions you may have, no matter how silly you think they are. We can assure you that we have heard most of them already!
Dr. Christos Vlachos holds dental degrees from the University of Athens, Greece and the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). In addition, he received a Masters degree in Occlusion and the treatment of TemporoMandibular Disorders (TMJ) from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor (1984) and completed his specialty training in Orthodontics at UAB (1986).
Dr. Vlachos served as full-time faculty at UAB, Department of Orthodontics from 1992 to 1997, teaching undergraduate, graduate and continuing education courses in orthodontics and occlusion. Since 1997, he has maintained private orthodontic practices in Homewood, Pell City, and Calera, while teaching part-time at UAB. In addition to orthodontic care for children and adults, Dr. Vlachos offers treatment to patients with TMJ problems as well as Obstructive Sleep Apnea.
Dr. Vlachos is a diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics as well as a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, Southern Association of Orthodontists, UAB Orthodontic Alumni Association, American Dental Association, Alabama Dental Association, and Birmingham District Dental Society.
Dr. Feagin was born and raised in Birmingham and attended the University of Alabama for his bachelors degree. He attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham for his dental degree. He remained at UAB for his orthodontic specialty education and masters degree and served as chief resident during his final year.
Dr. Feagin is married to the love of his life, Dr. Katerina Aslanidou, whom he met during their orthodontics training at UAB. They were married in her hometown of Thessaloniki, Greece. They are both avid travelers and love to visit different countries all over the world. They also enjoy spending time with their dog, Pretzel.
Among his hobbies is a love for keeping abreast of new technologies, especially those associated with orthodontics. He has received advanced training in the Invisalign system, as well as its integration with intra-oral scanning and digital models. He seeks to keep our practice on the cutting edge of technology to help achieve excellent treatment outcomes and improve patient comfort.

I can't say enough good things about the Dr.'s and staff at Dr. Vlachos office. Dr. Vlacho explained everything in great detail. They are the kindest, professional staff. Every time I have called their office they have answered the phone with such professionalism. I highly recommend them?

I can't say enough about Vlachos Orthodontics! Everyone is so nice and truly love what the do. We had an emergency while out of town and within 5 minutes of calling and leaving a message Dr Fagon called and helped us resolve the problem. We love them and so glad we went with them

Very friendly and professional environment. From the moment we walked in to time we left, everyone on staff was very friendly and professional. Dr. Vlachos is absolutely amazing. He took my daughter on as patient after our move from Maryland he is just a joy to work with. He explains everything and the pricing was very reasonable. I would definitely recommend him to my friends and family. Hands down one of the best.

Each appointment is quick and easy They don't have you waiting all day. Excellent staff. I also appreciate that they are not rushing my daughter into braces. we know they are coming but they are being patient and letting nature take it's course by not extracting the few baby teeth remaining
