Dr. Kottar is a graduate of the highly esteemed Columbia University College of Dental Medicine. He completed his residency at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center and obtained his Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies (CAGS) from the Advanced Education in General Dentistry program at Boston Universitys Henry H Goldman School of Dental Medicine. With advanced training in cosmetic solutions, endodontic techniques, complex reconstructive treatment, implant dentistry, and oral rehabilitation, he is dedicated to being a master of his craft.
His career in dentistry follows in the footsteps of his great-grandfather and father who were also dentists in Italy and Argentina, respectively. Their passion for clinical excellence and relentless pursuit of perfection have guided his highly detailed approach to patient care. With a rich family history, Dr. Kottar also is fluent in Spanish and Italian.
Like her husband Dr. Kottar, Dr. Hong is a graduate of the highly esteemed Columbia University College of Dental Medicine. She completed her General Practice Residency at New York Methodist Hospital. With a desire to pursue orthodontics as a specialty, she went on to fulfill her Orthodontic Residency at the equally prestigious University of Pennsylvania. Her specialized training in Orthodontics focused on comprehensive orthodontic treatment for patients of all ages, with a strong emphasis on growth and development for young and adolescent patients, as well as complex, interdisciplinary treatment for adults.
Dr. Hongs passion for orthodontics began in her teenage years when braces changed her life. As a young girl with a large gap between her front teeth and an 'overbite', she was shy, self-conscious, and unsure of herself. Braces transformed her smile and her life, as she became a confident, brave young woman who would aspire to help others experience the same transformation. With a unique upbringing, Dr. Hong is fluent in Mandarin Chinese and Taiwanese.
When not serving patients, they enjoy spending time as a family with their young daughter. They love pursuing knowledge, learning new facts and trivia, traveling, dining out, and being a foodie family.

The Vizcaya Dental Team was an absolute pleasure to work. I will highly recommend to all of my friends & family. Dr. Kottar & staff are friendly, helpful, knowledgeable & much more!! By far one of the best Dentist + team in Miami. My teeth cleaning was handled by Dr. Kottar himself, which was excellent. The service of being able to book online and communicate with the team via text makes everything more efficient. The office was easy to locate, free parking and extremely clean. Highly recommended ! This is the nicest, cleanest, friendliest, and most efficient dentist I have ever been to. I had visit Dr Kottar office for a second opinion and I couldn't be more happy to found them and I am not moving anywhere else.. The office is beautiful and extremely clean.. The staff Is absolutely amazing and informative and Dr Kottar is just a great dentist he was absolutely great, warm, understanding, very professional and really explained everything with great detail. Let me tell you, look no further- THIS IS YOUR NEW DENTAL OFFICE! First, it's gorgeous. Second, paperwork is DIGITAL so you can fill before your appointment. Third, they are prompt with check in and throughout your time with Dr. Kottar. Which he really takes his time in explaining what's going on so you can understand. Staff is so sweet also! 10/10 would recommend.

They did a great job! Thorough but no pain, explained everything in detail, and you can tell they are looking out for your best interest rather than trying to push unnecessary treatments. Great and calming atmosphere overlooking the water too!

Finally a dental practitioner I love. Dr Kottar took the time to explain everything that was going on with me and made sure I understood what I had to do to fix my gingivitis and how to take better care of myself going forward. He was extremely informative and we got to know each other very well which made me feel very comfortable with his professional opinion. Most doctors do not take the time to explain why they say certain things but Dr Kottar Took his time to be very thorough and answer all my questions. I will definitely keep coming here and would recommend to anyone else looking for a Great Dental practice

I am so happy to finally have found a dentist I feel comfortable with and trust. After going to many dentists in Miami I can finally say I found my go-to dental office. To begin with, the staff is incredibly nice, polite & welcoming. The office itself is beautiful as it over looks the water. Dr. Kottar is incredible and extremely good at what he does. He takes the time with you as his patient and makes sure you understand everything he is explaining. You can tell he really cares and wants the best for you. He has a lot of patience and takes the time to explain each procedure he will be doing, which makes me feel at ease! A few extra things to add: free parking (always a plus), very punctual with appointments ( I have been here twice and never had to wait more than 2 minutes) & wonderful staff! Thank you again Dr. Kottar and staff! Can't recommend them enough 5+++ stars.

I would give Vizcaya Dental arts more than 5 stars if I could. The entire team is phenomenal from Ann at reception to Dr. Kottar and Dr. Hong. My son and I have used them for many of the services including restorative and cosmetic work. I have nothing but positive comments to share about their expertise and customer centered approach. I highly recommend them.

Dr. Kottar and his team are exceptional! As someone who has had many dental issues and ptsd from past dentist experiences, I am so happy to have found Vizcaya Dental Arts! The team is very patient, calm and understanding. Dr. Kotter offers the least invasive and best option. He's a perfectionist and that is definitely a huge plus when it comes to teeth!

If you live in the downtown Miami area, this should be the only place you go for all your dental needs. Their staff are amazing and so helpful. The office is very modern and clean with some amazing views. Came in because I found them on the Aetna app and I was blown away by my customer experience. Went in for a cleaning which I hate, and Dr. Flavio Kottar made me feel so comfortable. Reassured me throughout the whole process and was very gentle and it didn't hurt at all. The last time I had this done, I left in pain and my gums swollen. The best part about all of this, was all the knowledge given. He even showed me how to properly floss. In all my years of going to the dentist, I was never shown how to floss. I also went in for a braces consultation and it was so quick and effortless. Dr. Patricia Hong answered all my questions and even went above and beyond to get a product that they generally don't provide to have it available for me. Like no one does that nowadays. This husband and wife duo definitely understood the assignment when having a practice focused around patients experience and care. I would highly recommend this office. 5 stars just isn't enough with how well my office visits went. I don't do reviews but I had to because the services and type of care given was exceptional and that's an understatement.

I want to start by saying that I found out about this clinic from my friend. And like any great place, this was a big surprise for me when I arrived for my first consultation. At Vizcaya Dental Arts I found minimalistic and comfortable design where you feel safe and comfortable at the dentist chair while looking at the ocean. Flavio Kottar, his staff and the clinic are state of the art. I have a long history of dental issues and dr Kottar always has the least invasive and most wholistic approach possible. Every aspect is considered before making any decision. He always works to preserve your longterm dental health. Finding a dentist to trust is not easy but his experience, knowledge and competence make you feel that you are in the best hands. He is the type of Dr that will follow up with you and care about your recovery and wellbeing. It's also so convenient that everything is done in the same office, cosmetic dentistry, crowns and fillings and Invisalign!

Dr Kottar and his team are wonderful! And what a beautiful office! I had a 9am appointment and I was seen immediately on time. The young lady at the front desk was kind and welcoming. She took my temperature for COVID safety which I appreciate then offered me hand sanitizer (good stuff not sticky) and then I was immediately greeted by a very kind dental assistant who brought me to this very nice room, with a beautiful view of the water! She was very gentle with the xray machinery and the view kept me relaxed. The office is state of the art, everything is brand new and spectacularly clean. The whole appointment was smooth. Dr Kottar is very knowledgeable and friendly. He gave me some great tips on flossing and brushing techniques and of course recommended I switch to an electric toothbrush and you know what hes right, its about time I should stop putting that off. Anyway 10 out 10 experience! I would recommend this place to everyone. Very nice dentist office, friendly staff and on time service!

Dr. Kottar is truly the best dentist I've ever had. I've been to two previous dentists in Miami in the last 11 months and finally am relieved to find an incredible dentist. He values and respects his patients and his staff. I really enjoy the explanation of each treatment decision and technique. It really helps put me at ease. The staff are extremely welcoming. Additionally, the practice is beautiful (literally can see the bay from the examination room). Parking is easy, accessible, and free too! Dr. Kottar and Dr. Hong are an amazing dental duo. I HIGHLY recommend them to anyone who wants top notch dental care and to feel like family immediately as they walk in the door.

In the past I have had orthodontist work done by doctor Hong who is an amazing orthodontist she is definitely someone I would recommend to my family and friends, also I'm very happy with the cosmetic dental work I received from Dr. Kottar.
