Dr. Vasiliki Mavromatis earned her Bachelor of Science at Manhattan College. She graduated New York University, College of Dentistry at the top ten percent of her class. During her residency at the VA Hospital in Manhattan and Bellevue Hospital of Manhattan, she specialized in general anesthesia. After graduating she became an attending physician at New York College of Dentistry, Emergency Medicine Department. Dr. Mavromatis has advanced training in implants, aesthetics, Invisalign, Cerec, and has participated in studies at the Institute of Natural Dentistry, Dawson Academy, and Kois Center for Continuous Education. She continuously integrating modern advances into her practice. Dr. Mavromatis is a Dawson Academy trained dentist.
Dr. Spiro Balaouras received his Bachelors Degree in Biology in 1988 fromNew York Universitys Washington Square and University College, and his D.D.S. Degree in 1991 fromNew York University David B. Kriser Dental Center College of Dentistry. He combined his undergraduate and graduate studies at New York University by attending the UniversitysB.A. / D.D.S. Joint Degree Program(Seven Year Program). At the College of Dentistry, Dr. Balaouras was very active in student government.
In 1992, Dr. Balaouras completed his postdoctoral study atThe New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Centers Department of Oral, Maxillofacial and Dental Surgery(General Practice Residency), and for several years served as Assistant Attending Dentist within that department. In an effort to provide dental care to New York Citys youth less likely to seek care, Dr. Balaouras worked for several years for The Childrens Aid Society Community School (I.S. 218) in Washington Heights. Dr. Balaouras began his career in private practice in Dr. Mavromatis office, originally located in Astoria, New York. Prior to rejoining her practice at Vital Dental of Bayside, Dr. Balaouras maintained a private practice in midtown Manhattan for over 25 years. Dr. Balaouras is a current member of the following organizations: American Dental Association, New York State Dental Association and New York County Dental Society.
