My name is Danna Ely and I joined Virtue Dental Care in early 2018 with Dr. Taylor as her lead dental assistant. I have been involved with bio compatible dentistry for 15 years IAOMT, a president of the organization now and also I teach the fundamentals of biological dentistry to our new members and in order to be accredited in the IOAMT you have to take my course, so that is what we do and we have been practicing biological dentistry, for about 15 years.

Dr. William Virtue, DDS, AGD, FIAOMT, DNM is SMART (Safe Mercury Amalgam Removal Technique) certified by the IAOMT, evidence of rigorous training in removal of existing amalgam fillings to reduce potential health effects of mercury exposure.
I became interested in biological dentistry over 15 years ago with the discovery that my aunt and grandmother (both on my mother's side) had suffered and died from Lou Gehrigs disease. While my grandmother died of this disease before I was born, I witnessed my aunt's suffering and demise. Beyond my aunt's eventual passing from Lou Gehrigs disease, three of her children also contracted and died from this terrible disease.
Being ever so interested in the connection between dentistry and whole-body health, I realized that my Aunt had a mouth full of mercury fillings and began investigating the connection between this fact and neuromuscular disease.
While doing my research, I quickly realized that both my staff and I work in a mercury rich environment and the decision was made to do everything in my power to change my practice in order to protect my patients, my staff and myself. As a result, my biological dental practice was born.
I was trained in dentistry at Indiana University and then opened my practice here in beautiful Yadkinville, NC, in 1979. In addition to practicing biocompatible dentistry, I also believe that coming to the dentist's office should be a pleasant experience. I am also continually educating myself in the latest dental therapies and techniques. I have accumulated more than 2000 hours of continuing education through dental courses in order to enhance my philosophy of providing patients with the best, most progressive methods for saving and restoring their teeth and health.
I am also committed to serving both the local community and my professional community. I have served as president of the Forum for Contemporary Dental Esthetics, and am a fellow in the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology (IAOMT) as well as its acting president, as mentioned previously.

Dr. Taylor is from Boonville, NC and attended Starmount high school. Her interest in dentistry began at an early age as she became involved in volunteering at dental clinics. Following high school graduation, she attended Wake Forest University where she played volleyball and received a degree in biology. She received her dental degree from UNC Chapel Hill School of Dentistry in 2016. It was her desire to serve others locally that brought her back to Yadkinville, NC and she is so happy to be providing dental care in her own community.
As a dentist, Dr. Taylor is passionate about education and prevention. She works diligently to give her patients the tools to take care of and maintain their teeth for a long, healthy life. She wants her patients to feel confident and proud of their smile and to feel confident and comfortable at their dental visits. Her favorite thing about dentistry is the relationship she has the opportunity to build with each patient.
