It is my belief that dentistry is not only about helping you maintain the best dental health possible, but also about encouraging your overall health. Because of this, I practice mercury-safe, biocompatible dentistry in accordance with the highest standards of health and safety as outlined by the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology, the leading association of dental professionals committed to biocompatible dental practices.

On September 22nd, 2012, I officially became the president of the IAOMT and am looking forward to an opportunity to help other dental professional across the world share the benefits of mercury-safe dentistry.

Meet Dr. William Virtue of Virtue Dental Care: I have been a dentist for 33 years here in Yadkinville, North Carolina. Graduated from Indiana University in 1979. I have been involved with bio compatible dentistry for 15 years IAOMT, a president of the organization now and also I teach the fundamentals of biological dentistry to our new members and in order to be accredited in the IOAMT you have to take my course, so that is what we do and we have been practicing biological dentistry, for about 15 years.

Hi I am Dr. Griffin Cole, president of the International Academy of Oral medicine and toxicology. The most highly regarded biological dental organization in the world. It is my pleasure to introduce to you Dr. Bill Virtue of Yadkinville, Carolina who has been practicing biological dentistry for over 15 years. The academy is very proud to announce that Dr. Virtue has successfully completed all the requirements and shows proficiency in all phases of biological dentistry and therefore has been awarded his accreditation and fellowship with the Academy. Congratulations Dr. Virtue thank you.

Biocompatible dentistry recognizes the impact toxic materials commonly used in dentistry can have on a patients oral, physiological, and overall health. As such, biological dentistry is focused on the integrity of the oral cavity and uses materials and procedures that are completely safe and non-toxic to the body.

Dr. William Virtue, DDS, AGD, FIAOMT, DNM is SMART (Safe Mercury Amalgam Removal Technique) certified by the IAOMT, evidence of rigorous training in removal of existing amalgam fillings to reduce potential health effects of mercury exposure.

I became interested in biological dentistry over 15 years ago with the discovery that my aunt and grandmother (both on my mother's side) had suffered and died from Lou Gehrigs disease. While my grandmother died of this disease before I was born, I witnessed my aunt's suffering and demise. Beyond my aunt's eventual passing from Lou Gehrigs disease, three of her children also contracted and died from this terrible disease.

Being ever so interested in the connection between dentistry and whole-body health, I realized that my Aunt had a mouth full of mercury fillings and began investigating the connection between this fact and neuromuscular disease.

While doing my research, I quickly realized that both my staff and I work in a mercury rich environment and the decision was made to do everything in my power to change my practice in order to protect my patients, my staff and myself. As a result, my biological dental practice was born.

I was trained in dentistry at Indiana University and then opened my practice here in beautiful Yadkinville, NC, in 1979. In addition to practicing biocompatible dentistry, I also believe that coming to the dentist's office should be a pleasant experience. This is why you'll enjoy amenities such as eye pillows, relaxation tapes, massage cushions, and more.

My supporting office staff has been carefully hand-picked and each person is a valued member of a team whose primary goal is to provide you with the most advanced dental care in a pleasing environment.

I am also continually educating myself in the latest dental therapies and techniques. I have accumulated more than 2000 hours of continuing education through dental courses in order to enhance my philosophy of providing patients with the best, most progressive methods for saving and restoring their teeth and health.

I am also committed to serving both the local community and my professional community. I have served as president of the Forum for Contemporary Dental Esthetics, and am a fellow in the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology (IAOMT) as well as its acting president, as mentioned previously.

Overall, I feel very blessed in my practice and home life, and I feel a great deal of gratitude for my patients. I look forward to an opportunity to help you achieve the beautiful, healthy smile you deserve and if we can be of any assistance at all, please don't hesitate to Contact Us!
