I went through a tough health battle with Obstructive Sleep Apnea that changed me as a clinician, and it motivated me to go back into training and become a Certified Sleep Medicine Specialist. Having the ability to Screen, Test, and Treat patients with Obstructive Sleep Apnea has provided me a rewarding experience like none other. I can now say that I get to both CHANGE peoples lives with a better smile and also SAVE AND EXTEND peoples lives with improved sleep, health, and vitality.
Ive been a practicing specialist in orthodontics since 2005. As the son of a retired Air Force LTC, I spent most of my childhood traveling around the Midwest and East Coast until we settled down in Burke, VA, where I graduated from Lake Braddock High School in 1995.
Since I started practicing, Ive trained in modern orthodontic technologies, philosophies, and treatment techniques. My extensive training and overall experience have allowed me to provide my patients with the most comprehensive care options.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending quality time with my wife, Bita, and my two children, Kaitlyn and Austin. I am an avid sports fan. I love to walk and hike, as well as lift weights and spar in TaeKwonDo (currently a second-degree black belt). I enjoy reading, painting, boating, and traveling as much as I can.
After practicing orthodontics in the Kansas City area, I knew it was time for a change. Thats why I moved to Northern Virginia to partner with my longtime friend, Dr. Ellis. Its one of the best decisions Ive ever made.

Im a certified orthodontic specialist. After eight years of private orthodontic practice in the Kansas City area, I moved to the Virginia area in 2012. I have always been active in the dental community, as past president of the Greater Kansas City Orthodontic Society and past president of the Midwest Tweed Study Club. As the previous owner of a start-up practice in Kansas City, my expertise and knowledge in the practice of orthodontics are invaluable.

I feel I was scammed out $7,000 for Invisalign, which caused severe TMJ pain that eventually resulted in surgery. I originally saw Dr. Ellis for a consultation (for cosmetic reasons) during which he noticed my jaw deviated and clicked but NEVER warned me how Invisalign could impact my joints. It was either negligence or ignorance, I'm not sure which is worse. I also never saw him again for treatment and instead was handed off to Dr. Lindgren. I found it odd that the consulting dentist wouldn't be the one actually treating me. She was perplexed by my pain and eventually referred me to an oral surgeon (after several months of pain!) who then referred me to a TMJ specialist. Irreversible damage had already been done though. I've spent the last year+ and several thousand dollars trying conservative treatment but eventually needed surgery this summer. I'm still so frustrated by their disregard and lack of responsibility. I trusted their medical knowledge. If you have any sort of TMJ problems, orthodontics should be carefully reconsidered and certainly not done by this practice.

The staff at this facility are alway professional and try to give me the best experience every time I am there. They boost my morale about the process that I am currently going through with my teeth and they are often showing me that they care about my ortho care. I would highly recommend them for any orthodontic treatment.

Virginia Orthodontic Partners is wonderful and the best ortho practice, I know. Drs. Ellis and Lindgren have seen both of my children for their dental needs. The front office staff and the assistants are very welcoming and friendly, when we go. We feel like they are an addition to our family and it is always great to catch up each month. Two of my children have been coming here for about a year & we have nothing, but great things to say about this place. When COVID devastated, they employed stringent safety standards that would please the most particular. My children have had great experiences thus far. The customer service is top notch among all of the front of the house employees. One employee who stands out for me is Rolando P. He delivers the best of the best with salutations & farewells, he's exceptionally personable, he has great humor, he is quite knowledgeable, he exhibits true care, & he even adds his own personal touch. I find his job performance to be superb. Any client/patient would be delighted & be well taken care of in this clinic.

Both of my children have been through 2 rounds of braces here and I have been happy with every aspect of their care. The front office staff is friendly and helpful and the staff in the back takes wonderful care of my kids. Dr Ellis and Lindgren are both great!

Dr. Ellis and Dr. Lindgren have been my orthodontists for over 2 years now. They have (3) locations, and I normally come to the office in Lorton. When I made the decision to switch from another orthodontist to their office(s), from day one, my experience has been nothing short of spectacular. Everyone is very professional with excellent customer service, always displaying the right attitude when I'm there for my appointments. This is a big issue for me and I appreciate the fact that all staff take this seriously. They also stay pretty booked, which is another indication of how good this office is. I have seen a lot more movement/improvement of my teeth and brace experience compared to the other location I was previously at. I would recommend this office to anyone looking for excellent service and in need of an orthodontist.
