Dr. Lida M. Vargas graduated from dental school in Columbia, South America, in 1994. She then attended dental school at theUniversity of Maryland at Baltimore(UHAB), graduating in 2005. Dr. Vargas received two years of training with implant seminars and has advanced training in CEREC and Invisalign. She also has a certificate withProgressive Orthodontics(POS). Dr. Vargas has been practicing in the area for more than 20 years and is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry as well. Her goal as a dentist is to provide dental services in a different and relaxed environment for patients of all ages. The patients needs always come first.
Continuing education is necessary in Virginia every year, as we need to update in areas like orthodontics, surgery, CEREC, and the Sirona cone beam. Dr. Vargas is an honorary member of Who is Who in Dental Professionals and Northern Virginia Top Doctors. She is also an Invisalign Preferred Provider and has received the CEREC specialist award and has certifications in CEREC CAD/CAM single visit dentistry and diagnostic and CEREC CAD/CAM guided surgery implant training.
Dr. Vargas also offers regenerative medicine and is certified in Dr. Miron PRFedu Platelet Rich Plasma fibrin in facial cosmetics and has a certification in Cleopatra technique TM PRF for facial cosmetics as well. Sheis a specialist in laser dentistry and has a Fotona PHAST certification in General Dentistry, Endodontics and Periodontal Dentistry as well.She effectively treats sleep disorders via her certification in Fotona Nightlase TM which is highly effective for the treatment of snoring and sleep apnea.
Additionally, Dr. Vargas received her certification for the Smoothlase TM which is utilized for the treatment of fine lines in the perioral area. She also has achieved the Dr. Harvey Shiffman Advance Laser Cosmetics Certification, Dr. Terry Alford and Larry Lieberman Mastery in Laser Cosmetics and Photobiomodulation and her Master in Laser Dentistry from LA&HA Ljubljana, Slovenia which is in progress.
Dr. Santiago J. Rueda earned his bachelors degree from theUniversity of Maryland, BaltimoreCounty in 2001. He then attended theUniversity of Maryland School of Dentistry, graduating in 2005. He then completed a general practice residency in Lehigh Valley Hospital in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Dr. Rueda has been practicing in the area for seven years. His goal is to provide ideal dental treatment that suits the patients overall needs using the most up-to-date technology, studies, and evidence supporting treatment. He is a pretty cool dentist! Dr. Rueda takes about 15 to 20 continuing education hours every year. He is a member of theAcademy of General Dentistry.
Dr. Rueda lives with his dog, Bella, and his sugar bears, Chester and Chelsea. He has bi-weekly get-togethers with his 20 relatives in the area. Dr. Rueda plays in the APA pool league every Wednesday. They play 8-ball and he is the team captain. Dr. Rueda rides his motorcycle whenever whether allows it. He just started basic photography courses.
Dr. Rueda also specializes in dental implant for his patients and is a member of the Global Dental Implant Academy, has extensive training in Cerec CAD/CAM Guided Surgery Implants and Cerec CAD/CAM Single Visit Dentistry as well. He also has Versah Osseodensification Densah training, maintains a certification in Guided Bone Regeneration by Surgical Influence and is a certified Pinhole Surgical Technique Practitioner.
Dr. Rueda provides his patients orthodontic treatment and is a certified Invisalign Provider. He also specializes inlaser dentistry and has a Fotona Lightwalker Twinlight PHAST certification and Nightlase and achieved SmoothLase Certifications as well.
Additionally, Dr. Rueda received Dr. Choukron Platelet-Rich Fibrin Training for Dental Surgery, Dr. Miron PRFedu Platelet-Rich Fibrin Training in Facial Esthetics and is both a certified Botulinum Toxin Provider and Dermal Filler Provider by the AAFE.

I purchased in-house insurance from them. Covers Examination,X-rays and Cleanings. They performed the examination and X--Rays but refused to do the Cleanings saying I didn't qualify and would need Deep extensive cleanings and other work. They told me that I required all the work ($2,060.00 worth of work) and I got it in writing twice. On 12/1/2021 after writing again to them to schedule a regular cleaning I got a response "Upon reviewing your file, your treating doctor has indicated that you are not eligible for a regular teeth cleaning and will need to schedule deep cleaning therapy before proceeding with any other treatment" I scheduled an appointment with Greater Washington Dentistry. Had examination,X-Rays and regular cleaning done. I was examined by 2 Dentists and I repeatedly asked them about the work required by Virginia Dental Group. Guess what no deep cleaning was required, I didn't require multiple fillings and other work required by Virginia Dental Group! I stopped the charge for Dental insurance because they did not perform the cleaning as required. Now they write that they are referring the matter to collections!

I had an excellent experience. They're the most advanced dentist office I've ever been to. They have all of the latest tools to get my teeth as clean as possible and to show me what I'm missing in my daily routine. They also have a special microscope set up to see how healthy your mouth actually is, not just tell you if it looks healthy on the surface, which was super eye opening.

First time visit here for a consult, 2nd opinion. Absolutely incredible visit! The entire staff was thorough, detailed, caring, and walked away feeling confident of the care plan in place for me! Dr. V, was awesome!! There's a clear reason why this practice has a booked schedule way out, the quality of service and care is amazing. Thank you to the attention detail upon check in and entire staff I interacted with. Looking forward to my next appointment. Found my new dentist provider. Thank you!! Initially I found this place for regular check-ups when I used to live in the area 5 years ago. After moving to MD, about an hour away from the clinic, I had to find another denistry that is in convenient location. However, after trying several dentistries in my new area, I was not as satisfied as I did at Dr Vargas's office. Now even if I am living far away, I am coming back to her office for all my checkups and treatments. Dr Vargas and her team, namely her assistant Mavra and all front office staff, are amazingly awesome, not just professionally, but the way how they treat their patients like a family member. This is really a patient oriented dental clinic. They don't care how much time they putting into each patient, as long as they achieve the highest quality result. Highly recommend this clinic to anyone who is looking for a professional dental services.

Update: since this review my husband and I have have numerous visits to deal with years of dental neglect. When I said half the cost of of our other dentist, they're actually closer to 1/4th the cost. On top of it all, all of our work has been far less painful than our previous experiences, to include a deep cleaning with ultrasonic water+ a laser that didn't even require anesthetic and I am very very sensitive to dental pain. They have more technology than I've seen at any other practice and use it to mitigate patient discomfort and educate patients on proper (and specific!) dental hygiene. The doctors are personable and the hygienist, Rebecca, is an angel. They are always on time and considerate of your opinions and anxieties. I hope they do pediatric dentistry so we can bring my daughter here now that she has teeth. Original: I don't understand how they afford rent around here with state of the art tech and rural prices but my husband and I were referred here from a friend. The cost for all the many, many procedures my husband needs cost the same as a single implant post install at our last dentist. Literally half the cost of our previous dentist and seems more knowledgeable, capable, truthful, and caring. My husband will go in another 3 times in the next few months and I'll update as it goes but we were very, very impressed.

Had a great experience despite having avoided the dentist for a few years. Everyone was very friendly and they were able to see me right away despite arriving early. They seem pretty tech savvy and Dr. Rueda was very patient as he described what he was seeing in Xrays, bacteria samples, etc. Great experience for someone who doesn't love going to the dentist.

Karla and Edith are great receptionists and are always friendly and helpful! I have seen Dr. Rueda and Dr. Vargas and both are very good at what they do and explaining dental work in a very simplistic and efficient way. We were seen right on time and had a great experience!

Dr. Vargas is a true professional. She is very thorough and always offers various options and recommendations for treatment. She is very personable and treats patients with care and attention. The office staff is outstanding!! A well run machine. Can't say enough about Karla and Edith. They have the perfect balance of professionalism and personable customer service skills. From explaining insurance policy claims to patient coverage, they're on top of their game!! I've been coming to this practice for over 4 years now and can honestly say they've been consistent in providing quality service and always efficient. They represent the high caliber dentists of this practice very well! If you're looking for a dentist, or perhaps new one; yes, I recommend this awesome team of dentists and office staff.

I can't express enough what an excellent dentist Dr. Vargas is and how wonderful my teeth look. I'm constantly being complimented on my teeth and people always want to know who did them. Dr. Vargas and her staff have been exceptional every time that I've been there and she is the most detail oriented person that I think I've ever met. If I could give her six stars I would and if you're not seeing Dr. Vargas for your dental needs you really are missing on the opportunity to see an exceptional dentist.
