Like many other professions, orthodontics continues to evolve and incorporate new technology. In order to provide my patients with the most efficient, effective, and comfortable treatments, I must attend continuing education courses constantly in order to stay current with the new techniques and technology.
I have been practicing orthodontics in Northern Virginia since 1982. Utilizing cutting-edge technology to transform a persons smile into one that is both aesthetic and harmonious is very rewarding to me.
The best part of my job, though, is the personal connection I make with each patient. Orthodontic treatment is an ongoing process during which I form a bond with many of my patients. These relationships often continue long after orthodontic treatments have ended.
I grew up in Baltimore, and have lived in Rockville for the last 20 years. I have three wonderful children named Dorie, Carly, and Garrett. Along with two grandchildren, Charlie and Leo. I enjoy cycling, skiing, working out, and reading.
I also believe it is important to be involved in our community, so I volunteer for various local organizations. I have sponsored Wounded Warrior Project and Blue Star Banner families for Fourth of July. I am also involved with the annual candy buy-back program, in which the candy goes to soldiers in Iraq. I support the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation as well as give to help provide Thanksgiving dinners for the needy of Prince William County.

I must confess that I've been extremely disappointed by the services provided by VA Braces and Invisalign Center. Throughout my treatment, the staff has been incredibly uncaring, unempathetic, and not helpful. They showed no iniciative to answer whatever question I had about my treatment, and they didn't take it seriously whenever I brought up a concern. More recently, they changed their software program without telling me, so they stopped sending reminders of appointments without any warning. I had to cancel an appointment because I had a final exam in a class one time and when I showed up for my next appointment, they said that it was scheduled at a different time, and they didn't see me that day. It was super frustrating because their lack of communication and support caused me to miss an important class that day for no reason. I've tried changing orthodontists, but for insurance reasons, I wasn't able to do so, so I'm stuck with them. All in all, I'm extremely disappointed and if I could go back in time I would NEVER have my treatment at this place. Would not recommend.
