Dr. Akhondzadeh, known more familiarly by her patients as Dr. Violet, has been practicing dentistry since 1994. She received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 1981. A member of the American Dental Association (ADA), California Dental Association (CDA) and The International Congress of Oral Implantologists, Dr. Violet has also studied Cosmetic Dentistry at UCLA and has accrued over 1,000 hours of education in Orthodontics.
In 1996, Dr. Violets passion for dentistry led her to Whittier, CA, where she opened her own practice and has been right-at-home ever since. Her goal is to treat every patient with the care that she would expect if she were in the dental chair. To reach this goal she uses the best dental labs, the most effective products possible, and stays up-to-date with the rapidly evolving technology of dentistry. Her practice is focused on each individual patient tending to his or her need, however unique they may be.
Her passion for her craft stems from an understanding that the mouth is an important part of the body. Not only does the mouth nourish the entire body, but it also has the ability to harm by being a source of disease and discomfort that can deteriorate ones overall health. Therefore her goal is to help people keep their teeth healthy so they can enjoy life.
In her free time, she likes to spend time with her daughter, who is a lawyer and Berkeley California Graduate. She loves to stay active, likes traveling, enjoys walking her dogs, maintaining and caring for her roses and orchids and going to the Whittier Farmers Market.

Love Dr. Violet! She is patient and kind, and has a great sense of humor and personality! I have been to other dentists but she by far is very professional and eases your fears (like I have of the dentist) and makes you feel relaxed and calm like every dentist should! She is very safe and follows all Covid protocols and her office is always clean and neat

Dr. Violet has been the best dentist I've had over the years. She and her staff will educate you on how to keep your mouth healthy while doing a thorough job while you're in the chair. Great job in keeping you pain free during procedures. Everyone is super nice. Highly recommend.

I have been going to Dr. Violet for over 15 years. If anyone out there who is like me who used to hate going to the dentist but at the same time has bad teeth and gum problems, I guarantee you that you would be convinced the importance of keeping your teeth and gum healthy especially when you're getting older. Because of Dr. Violet, my gingivitis and periodontis have improved so much even when I did not manage to keep up with my dental appointment due to the pandemic. So of you are not far from whittier and looking for a responsible and most professional dentist who takes good care of her patients wellbeing, I highly recommend Dr. Violet and her team including Yari and her new dental hygenist/ technician who are extremely friendly and helpful with my visit and appointment. And they always cater to my need after office hours because of the flexibility in the late open hours on a couple of days during the week. So Thank You, Dr. Violet and team

I have been coming to Dr Violet for well over 20 years!! She is the best!! I have tried other dentist due to Insurance issues. No one compares to her, super gentle and kind!! Try her out. You will not be disappointed. Only downside is that Doris is no longer there

Got a text from a new dentist informing me I could fill out paperwork online to save time at the office. Med history, billing, insurance info etc. Get to the office only to have to fill out the same paperwork because they can see my info online but need physical paperwork for their files. When asked why I filled this same info out online only to have to fill it out again in person no one had an answer. This is stupid and a waste of my time.
