We look forward to meeting you on your first visit to our office! During this time, we will help you get acquainted with our office and learn about your orthodontic treatment. We understand that each patients orthodontic treatment is different, and we promise to give you the personal attention you deserve (along with a fresh-baked cookie!)

Braces and Invisalign for all ages in Clayton and Wake Forest, NC and proudly serving the surrounding areas of Archer Lodge NC 27520, Four Oaks NC 27524, Franklinton NC 28734, Raleigh NC 27605, Smithfield NC 27577, Stovall NC 27582, and Youngsville NC 27596.

When you get your braces on, or have them tightened, you may feel general soreness in your mouth. Your teeth may feel tender to biting pressures for up to 3 5 days. Your lips, cheeks, and tongue can become irritated for the first two weeks as they become accustomed to braces. Our team will supply wax to put on your braces in irritated areas to lessen discomfort. You may also consider taking Tylenol, Advil, or any other pain reliever that you normally take for headaches or discomfort.

Dr. Vinson will need your help and compliance to successfully complete orthodontic treatment. Your teeth and jaws can only move toward their corrected positions if you consistently wear the rubber bands or other appliances we prescribe. Lack of compliance or damaged appliances can lengthen your treatment time.

A Proxabrush is an interdental (between the teeth) toothbrush that you may use to clean underneath and around your wires and brackets. Use it gently to avoid damaging your wires while brushing. The Proxabrush will help you to clean your braces while maintaining healthy teeth and gums.

Peroxyl is a hydrogen peroxide antiseptic mouth rinse that works to: reduce gum and cheek inflammation, prevent infection, and decrease irritation while wearing braces. Rinse your mouth with two teaspoons of Peroxyl (half a cap) for one minute and then spit it out. You may use Peroxyl up to four times daily following your regular brushing: mornings, after all meals, and before bed.

Phos-Flur is a sodium fluoride gel or mouthwash that can help prevent tooth decay while you are wearing braces. It works by killing bacteria and replacing minerals in tooth enamel. To Use: at bedtime, place a small strip of Phos-Flur gel on your toothbrush and apply it to your teeth for one minute, and then spit out. If using Phos-Flur mouthwash: rinse your mouth with two teaspoons (half a cap) for one minute and then spit out. Do not rinse, eat, or drink for at least 30 minutes after applying.

Food particles and plaque accumulate on your appliance (just like your teeth). Retainer Brite is a great solution to keeping your appliances odor, plaque, and tartar free. To Use: dissolve a tablet into a small cup of warm water, place your appliance in the blue and bubbling solution, and wait 15 minutes. Rinse your hands and appliance off with water and continue regular wear. You may use this solution once a day to keep your appliance clean and odor free.

From initial consultation (free!!!) to regular visits, I cannot recommend this Dr and his staff enough. My son was extremely nervous about braces but Dr. Vinson and his extremely experienced staff made this transition seamless. I have one more to put through braces and she will be seeing Dr. Vinson as well!

Absolutely love this Orthodontist!! From the staff to the doctor, they have taken care of my children like family. I had one child go through the process of braces years ago at Vinson, and with my next son thought I would go to a different doctor that had a closer facility. At the first meeting, I was uncomfortable and worried about their treatment plan - they really couldn't answer my questions. I called Vinson right away and they set me up with a second opinion - no commitment / no pressure sale. I'm so glad I decided to cancel my original appointments and return to Vinson. They make the process so easy and stress free and I know my son is in the best hands!

We LOVE Vinson Orthodontics! The entire process has been not only easy, but fun! Everything has been explained thoroughly from finances to the actual braces process. The office is so welcoming and has lots of amenities, even for us parents! My daughter enjoys every visit. Everyone from the front office staff, to the clinical staff, and of course Dr. Vinson himself, are all wonderful. I recommend to anyone looking for an orthodontist.

We love Vinson Orthodontics. Both my daughters have had great experiences with this office. Everyone is super friendly. They are great to try to work with your schedule and work to get you in and out on time. They have lots of fun trivia's and contests for the kids to take part in. The office is clean and inviting and they always have fresh cookies for a snack on the way out. The best part is my girls teeth look great and I found them to be affordable! I recommend them to anyone who asks.

I am a new patient, and from the first time I called the office to set up an appointment, to today, the day of my actual appointment, the staff has been so delightful and so kind. As I entered the office I was greeted by such a wonderful, charming and cheerful staff, even at 8:30 in the morning, they were all smiles and laughter. One of the first things I noticed is a Welcome board to all new patients with the names of the new patients on the board...and there I saw my name. How exciting and personable of them, it's those personal touches that makes you feel at ease and so very welcomed. I was then offered some freshly made chocolate chip or sugar cookies along with coffee, charming. But all of that is nothing, compared to the way each and every person goes into making you feel like you are the only person in the office and how they make sure that you are comfortable and that you are important. Dr. Vinson is such a kind and caring person, he really listens and takes time to hear you and answer your questions and really puts your mind at ease and calms any anxiety you may have. Natalie Mills is such a sweet and charming person, she doesn't mind answering your questions and is so willing to make sure that you understand every step of the process. What else can I say but, Thank you for making my first orthodontic experience a wonderful and lasting one. I will be recommending your office and sharing my experience with anyone that is thinking of orthodontics.

Best orthodontics ever! Had a horrible experience at Riccobene so I transferred here and I must say it's the best decision I made. I should've started my Invisalign treatment here from the beginning. The staff is so friendly and Rebecca was so amazing in getting my case transferred and getting me in such a quick time span. I would highly recommend this orthodontist to anyone who is looking for a professional place who actually cares about their patients. I will tell everyone I know about them!
