Dr. Pukhovistkaya graduated cum laude from University of Massachusetts in 2007 where she studied biology then later went on to graduate cum laude and receive her D.M.D. degree from Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine in 2013. She went on to do an AEGD residency at Boston University, graduating in 2014. After two years of working at South Boston Family Dental, Dr. Pukhovistkaya is pleased to announce she is a partner, joining Dr. Ben Liu.
Dr. Pukhovistkaya practices all phases of general dentistry including endodontics and oral surgery as well as child dental care. Furthermore she has implemented a public health project analyzing Early Childhood Caries providing for extensive treatments in younger patients. In 2012, Dr. Pukhovistkaya traveled to San Marcus, Honduras to provide dental care, including exams, sealants, and restorative procedures, in rural underdeveloped areas.
Her outreach in the community has been astronomical as she has participated in Special Olympics Dental Screening, Countdown to Kindergarten Screening, and Mattapan Health Care Fair Dental Screening. She is a member of the Mass Dental Society, AGD and ADA associations.
Dr. Pukhovistkaya was born in St. Petersburg, Russia and moved to Boston at the age of 12. She is fluent in both Russian and English and in her spare time she enjoys traveling, museums, going to the ballet, and spending time with her family.
Dr. Ben W. Liu has been practicing dentistry for over 20 years. He graduated from Tufts University Dental School in 1994 after completing a degree in Bachelor of Science in Chemistry at Wayne State University. Soon after, he became a member of the ADA and Massachusetts Dental Society.<
His attention to detail is prevelant in all areas of general dentistry and enjoys working many procedures such as root canals, crowns, and cosmetic cases. Dr. Liu is extremely well rounded in the field of general dentistry thus allowing him to perform procedures on patients of all ages.
On top of dedication to his work, Dr. Liu also emulates dedication towards his family. He enjoys vacationing with family and friends, kayaking, and golf. Dr. Liu moved to the Boston area in 1990 and continues to practice in the area. He is also fluent in Mandarin.
Dr. Brenna is a Texas native who made her way to Boston through her husbands Breast Imaging fellowship at Brigham and Womens Hospital. Dr. Brenna found her passion for dentistry at a very young age after completing years of orthodontic work. She enjoys educating and providing dental care for patients of all ages and is most fulfilled by transforming smiles to change lives.
Dr. Brenna graduated from St. Edwards University in Austin, TX in 2012 with a BS in Biochemistry. She went on to graduate from the University of Texas Health Science Center School of Dentistry in San Antonio in 2016 as DDS with distinction. Dr. Brenna received numerous awards throughout her graduate career including the T. Schoeni Wolfe DDS Memorial Award for displaying exceptional care for patients and colleagues; the International Congress of Oral Implantology Pre-Doc Achievement Award for recognition in oral implantology; Distinction in Education through her Teaching Honors and Mentorship Program; and the University Health Science Center award for best overall student athlete.
In her spare time Dr. Brenna can be found hiking with her husband and two Golden Doodles, playing soccer, or partaking in any variety of outdoor events. You can also find her working out at Crossfit Southie.
