Dr. Johnson was born in Council, Idaho in 1965 to Joseph and Teresa Johnson. The oldest of four children, he attended elementary school in Potlatch and McCall, Idaho. He attended high school in Potlatch for a very short period, and graduated from McCall-Donnelly High School in 1983. After earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Secondary Education from the University of Idaho in Moscow, he taught Junior High School algebra and mathematics in Moscow for one year. Upon completion, he began his journey toward becoming a dentist, and re-enrolled at the University of Idaho to complete prerequisite coursework for dental school. His studies ultimately took him to Pocatello, where he completed his first year of dental school at Idaho State University. From there, he transferred to Omaha, where he completed his formal dental training at Creighton University Boyne School of Dentistry in 1995.

Upon graduation, he had the opportunity to return to North-Central Idaho, and has been thrilled with his decision ever since. Having many lifelong friends and most of his family in the area, it was a perfect fit. Moreover, he continues to brag about his awesome twins (son Ian and daughter Rylie), who both finished school at Lewiston High School in 2019. Rylie still lives at home and works at a local restaurant, while Ian joined the United States Air Force, and works as a jet engine mechanic. Hes equally proud of both kids, and looks forward to watching them excel in their lives.

It took years and years of committed dedication to get to the point that John and his children are at right now. In preparation for the final decade of his practice, he certainly cannot let up off the gas pedal now, though he is highly committed to satisfying a more relaxing life where he gets to enjoy the area more and more. This means getting out on the golf course more. It means writing and publishing more, as he still entertains delusions of being a New York Times Best Selling Author. It also means getting out on the Snake and Salmon, and maybe drowning a worm once in a while. Most importantly, it means taking that next step in his Church Commitment, a responsibility that he takes very much to heart. With that, he hopes to fulfill the mantra that he taught Ian and Rylie when they were just little tikes...

Ashly is an LC Valley Original, growing up here in Lewiston, and graduating from LHS in 2009. Ashly worked her way through college at Lewis Clark State College as a dental assistant and barista, until finishing with her degree in dental hygiene in 2015.

The week after she received her license, we had an emergency opening in our office, and Ashly could not have filled in more admirably. First-year professionals in any field often struggle, and take years and years to master their craft with speed and precision. She stepped in like a seasoned veteran, and was awarded our Wookie of the Year trophy, a two-dollar Mini-Chewbacca that she still has on her mantle...we think.

Even though Ashly is still considered to be somewhat of a newbie here, dont underestimate her talent and skillset, for she is part of a legacy of talented and committed team players whose primary focus is overall patient health. In particular, shes part of a hygiene team, which has incorporated a comprehensive soft tissue (gums and bone) management philosophy, which focuses on maintaining a healthy mouth, in addition to the systemic human body that it is attached to. As such, when you see Ashly, or any of our hygienists for that matter, youll be terribly impressed with their level of thoroughness, the images that they take, the photos they collect, the records they assemble, and the care they provide.

She and her husband, Jake, are currently raising puppy-babies, and enjoy spending time with their extended families in the area. Camping, walking, running a bit, and kayaking take up a great deal of their time. We know youll love seeing Ashly as Your Dental Hygienist.

Shalomie grew up in Culdesac, and graduated from high school there in 2008. Upon graduating, she attended Lewis Clark State College in Lewiston, where she was accepted into, and graduated from the hygiene school in 2012.

She worked primarily as a dental hygienist with the Nez Perce Tribe in Lapwai for several years, and was also able to pick up a few odd-ball shifts at other offices, as she filled in her work weeks and gained valuable experience and confidence. Fortunately, we were introduced to Shalomie early on in her hygiene career, so when a full time opening presented itself, our team unanimously pursued her for the position.

Like our other dental hygienists, she too is part of a legacy of talented and committed professionals, whose primary focus is your overall health. In particular, shes an integral part of a hygiene team, which has incorporated a comprehensive soft tissue (gums and bone) management philosophy that focuses on maintaining a healthy mouth, in addition to the systemic human body that it is attached to. We still think that the link between your oral health and your overall health is incredibly fascinating, so dont forget to ask Shalomie any questions you might have.

On top of keeping a watchful, big-sister-eye on her two youngest brothers, Shalomie also spends time with her family, hiking, camping, and testing her skills behind the lens of a camera. She also has become an integral part of her local Church, serving as an Awana Leader, in addition to working in the Church Nursery during Adult Services. Youre gonna love seeing this warm and friendly team member...Your Dental Hygienist, Shalomie.

Jennifer grew up in Culdesac and finished high school there in 2001. After graduation, she attended culinary school at North Idaho College in Coeur d Alene, and worked for a couple of years as a pastry chef. Regretfully, the baking world suffered a huge loss, when we added Jennifer to our Hygiene Corp in May of 2013.

Jennifer and her husband, Jake, were married in 2006, after which they moved to Pocatello for five years. During their time there, Jen earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Dental Hygiene from Idaho State University in 2010. While in Southern Idaho, they started their family, and returned to North-Central Idaho with two kids in tow. Currently the mother of three energetic boys, Jennifer and Jake rounded out their adorable family in August of 2015, with a beautiful little girl.

When Jennifer started here as a part time hygienist, it could have been tough, as blending in with an established full-time crew can be difficult. In her case, it wasnt, as her pleasant and caring personality, paired with exceptional clinical and patient skills are beyond compare. Now a full-time anchor, we couldnt be happier, as our patients love seeing her.

Jennifer and her family enjoy their time outdoors together. Whether it is camping or helping out on the family farms, anything that keeps the kids occupied is a plus. And considering that each of these youngsters comes from a long line of really, really tall relatives, Jennifers need to keep the fridge full of groceries is a mustall the better for our patients, our team, and Dr. J., as they will all benefit from their upcoming years with JenniferYour Dental Hygienist.

Sandy has been a valuable member of Your Team since early 2012. She brings a wealth of dental knowledge and experience with her, having spent the better part of the last 40 years working for several different dentists.

Despite being a wicked shot with the air-water sprayer in the office, we know that you will enjoy your time with Sandy at your side during treatment. On top of the skillset she brings, she shares a tremendous level of empathy that patients find comforting. She also has a keen memory and a high level of understanding of some pretty obscure stuffin particular, if you ask her about the weather, you will get a detailed and accurate report that surpasses the predictions of our local weatherman (Dr. Johnson refers to this as Sandy-Doppler Radar). The friendly coffee bets we hold in our office are all too frequently won by Sandy, even when we unfairly stack her up against Google.

Together with her husband, Doyle, Sandy has raised two sons, whove both enjoyed a great deal of academic and professional success themselves. She and her husband have also developed a tight knit group of friends within their Church Family, and serve many functions within this collection of followers. Having served on a handful of missions to New Mexico over the past several years, she looks forward to her next opportunity to spread The Good News and to serve others.

Kim grew up in Lewiston and graduated from LHS in 1987. A talented singer, she and a handful of classmates still play music together, only nowadays it is part of the worship-team at her local Church. Occasionally, she gets volunteered by one of her children to sing the National Anthem at the beginning of an event...she never disappoints.

Together with her husband, Mike, Kim is busily raising three children. All are currently in their teens, and Kim is beginning to wonder what her life is going to look like in just a few years. For now, she and Mike are incredibly active with the LC Neptunes and Clarkston High School Girls Swim Team, as the kids all swim competitively. When the season lulls, or when time permits, you are likely to find Kim camping on the Lochsa River. On other days, you might just as readily find her gardening at home. Regardless, shes a busy woman with a lot to do.

Kim began her dental career in 1991, working several years with a well-respected dentist here in the LCV, until his retirement. She then took a position at Lewis Clark State College, in Lewiston, where she worked with administrators and students in the Dental Hygiene School for eight years. When we were finally able to wrestle Kim away from the hygiene school, it was a boon for our dental assisting team. Without getting too much into detail, she just makes us all better, and we are confident that you will see this too...as Your Dental Assistant.

A graduate of St. Maries High School in 2001, Rheanda and her husband, Kenny, are busy parents of a grown daughter and two little girls, who keep the entire house hopping. Together, they spend a great deal of time in the great outdoors. Rarely does a weekend escape them when they arent boating, fishing, or hunting. They also enjoy their time on their Razor, and completing their never-ending house projects just a few miles out of town.

Like many of our team members, Rheanda is a jack-of-all-trades, having worked in both dentistry and banking for years. Her time working for a local pedodontist (childrens dentist) has proven most valuable, as we continue to serve children of nearly every age with confidence and understanding. Many will agree that working with children can be a real challenge. Rheanda is always up to the task, though, as she brings this same level of care to her adult patients too. We know that if you have the opportunity to work with Rheanda as your dental assistant that you will truly enjoy her pleasant personality and genuine and honest demeanor...as Your Dental Assistant.

Verla grew up in, and graduated from high school in Kamiah, ultimately completing her college training at the Northwest College of Business in Portland. She lives in Lewiston, and has raised a daughter and two sons. When time permits, she enjoys traveling to parts unknown, DIY projects around the house, chasing her dogs, and gardening.

As an administrative person in our office, Verla could very well be one of the first voices you hear when you call. We are confident that you will find her friendly, engaging, and knowledgeable in all facets of your dental care. Over the past several years, she has evolved into our insurance guru, so can answer just about anything that might come across her desk.

Verla joined our team in the Spring of 2006, providing a wide array of medically focused experiences ranging for Advanced EMT Training, to phlebotomy, to medical office scheduling, to working in the insurance field. For us, she has become a jack-of-all-trades, serving roles ranging from Hygiene Coordinator to Dental Insurance Expert.

Regardless of whichever hat Verla is wearing when you meet her, we know you will be impressed with her experience and willingness to help you navigate the landmines of dental insurance in the 21st Century.

Jennifer came to our office during the summer of 2010, and has lit a spark under the team ever since. Her infectious smile, warm and inviting personality, and genuine laugh will welcome you on the phone AND at the front desk when you come in.

She is a busy mother of three daughters...two attending college, and another finishing up at LHS. With her husband, Taj, they keep as busy as possible, remaining active in the lives of their girls, camping, shooting, boating, and riding dirt bikes.

An Asotin High School graduate, many Valley residents will recognize Jenna from her days behind the counter at one of our busy coffee shops, where Dr. Johnson first met her, wondering when or if shed ever be available to work in his office. She is truly one of those...hard working and amazingly gifted in the manner in which she cares for patients, friends, and family. Yes. Your Scheduling Coordinator... Jenna. Youre gonna love this one!!

Amy is the newest member of our team. She grew up in Woodland, Washington and graduated from high school there in 2003. When you call our office or come in the front door, you have a good chance that you will engage with Amy first. Having worked as a dental assistant and in administrative positions in large, group dental offices, Amy brings a wealth of clinical and corporate perspective that is relatively unique to our team.

She and her husband, Aaron, relocated to the area in 2018 with their teenage son. Though the move tested them a bit more than theyd care to admit, it has been a joy watching Amys family gain traction, and move into a wonderful little house about 20 miles out of Lewiston where they are able to have horses and raise a few critters. Far more reserved than some of her wilder teammates, it is always fun to ask Amy how her weekend went, and see how her face beams with delight, as she shares the horseback riding stories, the fishing adventures, the details of their quad rides, and where they pitched their tent over the weekend. The twinkle in her eyes reminds you of a child on Christmas Morning, as you can tell that she has discovered something new that shes dying to share.
