As a Captain later rising to Fullbird Colonel, Dr. Moore has been awarded the Bronze Star, 2 Meritorious Service Medals, 3 Army Commendation Medals, 1 Army Achievement Medal, 2 National Defense Service Medals, 1 Global War on Terror Medal, and the Iraqi Campaign Medal. He has also earned the Expert Field Medical Badge and the German Sports Badge, in Gold.

Dr. Moore spent 3 years as an assistant professor in the UTDB, Houston Periodontics Residency, mentoring future periodontists. Dr. Moore also worked as Chief of Periodontics at Westpoint, and has lectured to many groups and study clubs, including active duty Army groups, civilian associations and American and Iraqi military and civilian dentists in Baghdad, Iraq. He is board certified and is a Diplomate of the American Academy of Periodontology and the American Board of Periodontology. Dr. Moore will soon join the local dental organizations within the DFW area.

After over 20+ years of military service, Drew and his family are excited to be back in North Central Texas, where they can be closer to family and friends in Dallas, Fort Worth, and surrounding areas. The Moore children currently attend Texas Christian University and Marcus High School.

When a tooth can not be saved we do the extraction in our office. Dr. Moore has over 25 years of experience extracting teeth. If sedation is desired or needed we offer those services too. We believe in making the patient as comfortable as possible. If the tooth is going to be replace with an implant, Dr. Moore will do socket preservation at the time of extraction.

Gingival Grafting - Also known as Gum Grafting, is used to thicken your gingiva and even cover recession surrounding your teeth. This procedure is used to reinforce your gums and teeth, help with sensitivity issues in the gums and to make your smile look and feel better.

Do you feel your teeth look too short and your smile is too gummy? If so, esthetic crown lengthening might be the solution for you. Both your genetics and health history may result in 'short' crowns. During this minimally invasive procedure, Dr. Moore removes excess gum tissue to sculpt a beautiful new smile. He will work with your dentist when crowns or veneers are planned.

When an upper molar tooth has been missing for an extended period of time, often, the sinus drops down. This limits the amount of bone available to place dental implants. Dr. Moore performs 2 techniques to 'lift' the sinus membrane and graft more bone in the area, so implants may be placed.

If a person has lost all or most of his or her teeth, the Hybrid may be the course of action. The remaining teeth are extracted and room is made to place implants and secure a titanium bar and acrylic denture to the implants. This denture is only taken out by your dentist once a year to check the tissue and clean it. No cream or bonds or pads.

If you have a receding gum line it may that your frenulum, the small band of tissue between your lip and gums, is pulling on the gums. A frenectomy is a surgical procedure that removes or loosens that band of tissue that connects the lip and bottom of the gums.

Dr. E. Drew Moore, DDS, MS, was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. After graduating from Texas Christian University and Baylor College of Dentistry, Dr. Moore was commissioned in the US Army as a Captain. He and his family served for 14 years on active duty in the Army Dental Corps. Dr. Moore served for 4 years in Germany. Drew and his wife, Jane, had their first child, Forest, during their time in Germany. MAJ Moore, Jane and Forest served in Texas, Hawaii and Korea, until 1999. The Moores then moved to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, where Dr. Moore did a 3-year surgical residency in Periodontics, earning his certificate and Master of Science in Periodontology from the Oklahoma University, College Dentistry where he graduated with honors. In Oklahoma City, Drew and Jane added two more children to the family, delivering Victoria in December of 1999 and Wyatt in July of 2001.

After the completion of his residency and the defense of his thesis in the summer of 2002, MAJ Moore and his family moved to Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. MAJ Moore attended the Command and General Staff College and served as the Vice President of the class of over 1200 majors and lieutenant colonels from the US Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard and Armies of 89 other countries.

In 2005, the Moores left active duty moving to Texas during Hurricane Katrina. Dr. Moore began his career in private practice of periodontics and became board-certified after his return to Texas. Dr. Moore transitioned into the TX ARNG in October 2005. LTC Moore took command of the 111th Multifunctional Medical Battalion. He is the only Dental Corps Officer to command any unit in the Texas Army National Guard.

LTC Moore and the 111th MMB, Alamo MED, deployed to Iraq where they had command and control of a Battalion Task Force of over 500 Soldiers, Sailors and Airmen in 14 Companies and Detachments and returned successfully from Operation Iraqi Freedom 08-09.
