Do not go here if you are not interested in being sedated. I was very put off by this dentist office. Their website appointments are incorrect so they had to have me reschedule, and then I still had to wait 30 minutes when I got there. Every 5 minutes they would ask me if I had considered sedation dentistry, which is expensive and out of pocket. The whole visit felt like a sales pitch, not a doctor's visit, completely with fake schmoozing and upselling. When I finally got my exam from the Dr, there were 4 people in the cramped room, all talking about me and how small my mouth was. It was almost as if they were trying to make me extra nervous so that I would pay for the sedation. They were very upset when I said I was not interested in having any dental work done that day, just a checkup and cleaning and guilted me about not agreeing with them. The only bright spots were friendly hygienist Rachel and Dr. Maya Martin who listened to my frustrations and comped my bill.

Village Dental in Old Raleigh Village is rhe best - they have earned their reputation from my perspective. I recently had an abscess that was excessively painful. I scheduled an appt but the pain quickly grew constant and unbearable. Village Dental at Olde Raleigh village worked me into the rotation to get some relief until the work can be completed. Huge shout out to Dr. Yoo, Jessy, Hayes, Natalie and the entire staff. The care I received and determination to eliminate as much discomfort as possible was outstanding.

Genuine scam artists, or at least Dr. Wheeler is. If dentists were actual medical doctors, they would be investigated for fraud & lying about diagnoses for financial gain. I went for a regular cleaning after moving to Raleigh and was told that I had pre-cavities that needed to be filled. I told them I would call back to schedule the appointment (since I had just started a new job and wanted to wait a few weeks before taking an afternoon off). They called me FOUR TIMES within 2 weeks to try to scare me & say that my teeth would crack in half and begin to rot. For alleged pre-cavities, they needed me (and my money) in the office immediately apparently. I went to see two other dentists in the area afterwards & they both were shocked to hear that my perfectly fine teeth apparently needed 7 procedures.

I don't even know where to begin with the quality of service I received. I am beyond scared of dental procedures, and they helped me every single step of the way. Every single staff member I came in contact with was extremely friendly and warm. They are the only place I will trust with all future dental procedures. Also a huge shout out to Natalie for being an all star

This place feels more like your buying a car than getting dental work done. Went in to see about replacing a crown that fell out. Was told there was replacing the crown would not be viable and I would need a bridge or an implant. After quoting me for over 5k worth of work I was skeptical. Only came here because my dentist was closed on Friday and it was an emergency. They tried to rush me into doing the work that day. Instead I paid my $180 bill and went to my usual dentist the following week. Without hesitation he said he could replace the crown and it would be better than any implant or bridge. So I almost underwent major surgery that would have lasted 6 to 8 months to complete instead of the 1 hour job it took my dentist to fix my tooth and also only cost 1/3 the price. Every one seems nice there but just want to oversell you on things you likely don't need. I would not recommend.

Been a customer for 3 years and never had an issue until recently. Had a scheduled appointment for me and my son in mid-August for general teeth cleaning. Get a text message the day before our appointment to reschedule due to staffing issues. Ok, no problem. It was a bummer because I wanted to get my son's teeth cleaned before he went back to school, but whatever. Well I responded back to the text message asking for a new appointment and no answer. Sent another message a few days later, no answer. Sent a third message and still no answer. It is now October and no one has reached out to me about rescheduling. Moving on to another dentist. Also, they try really hard to upsell on dental treatments.

I can't recommend Village Dental enough. I have a lot of nervousness and anxiety when going to the dentist, on top of worrying about the cost but Village Dental made sure through my whole time in the office that I was taken care of in the best way possible and understood everything that was happening from inside my mouth to the cost of everything. I didn't expect to go in and have to have the amount of work done needed on my mouth besides one area that was causing my a lot of pain and sensitivity from a filling in my back molar and probably needed to get my wisdom teeth out which had been long overdue, but it had been a while since i had been to any dentist because of how they have made me feel in the past and i tend to put things off until I can't take it anymore so I knew there were probably other things that needed to be done too. Once I got back to do a consult those fears, worries and anxiousness melted away by how genuine they are as people. Bri was amazing! She really listening to my concerns during the consult and very thorough for the xray portion. Liz was able to really work with my wife and I in a non-pressuring way to figure out what would be best for us financially to do over my visit to help figure out a way to make things as affordable for us as we could. Dr. Martin, Bri, Liz, Teri, and Travis are all just incredible people and you can tell they really are there for their patients and care- from my consult, to deciding on what to do (if you're like me and need a lot done) and procedure, down to giving me a blanket to make sure I was even more comfy through my sedation period. I truly feel like they treat you like family, and I will definitely bring mine here in the future. Thank you Village Dental for giving me one of the greatest dental experiences and sense of a dental family!

I ended up in the hospital for a week after getting my wisdom teeth removed by Dr Martin. Everything about my experience was awful and I recommend finding a real dental surgeon, not one that does cleaning only to refer you to himself for surgery. I experienced severe swelling of the neck days after extraction and returned to the office to see what they could do. Dr Martin gave me oral antibiotics due to an infection in a socket and said to call him if it got worse. I later learned that any person with actual medical training would have known to send me to the ED immediately, but I don't think Dr Martin has real medical training. My swelling did get worse and I was unable to reach him on the numbers he gave me. Thankfully I made the decision to go the ED and was sent into surgery within a day as my airways were almost closed and I wasn't responding to antibiotics. I was in the hospital for a full week waiting on the infection to drain from a straw in my neck and still have a scar to remind me of it. All of this could have been prevented if they gave proper cleaning instructions and provided a cleaning syringe like most surgeons would have, or if he had sent me in for IV antibiotics when he should have. I suggest finding a better dentist.

We should have read the reviews on Yelp before deciding to go here. We had an absolutely upsetting experience. My brother-in-law was referred here by his dentist so I took him in for his first appointment which was scheduled at 12:30. He was called back after 1:30. They told him not to eat/drink because he needed to be sedated for his procedure. While there, he was questioned by the Dentist about pain medication after surgery and he stated what he is normally given, and very unprofessional comments and sounds were made until he sternly informed them he was not a pill seeker, that he has a debilitating disease, relegating him to a certain type of pain medicine he won't even take. At 3:30, he was told they had to reschedule because it was too late in the day to start, so they re-scheduled him for two days later for first thing in the morning. Fortunately, he has some antibiotics from his referring Dentist. I took him back to his rescheduled appointment 2 days later and was expecting an apology that was promised to him for the unprofessional behavior/comment that was made at his first appointment but instead, was told "safety decisions" were made to NOT perform the procedure! No further measures other than two paper referrals were given. No special medicine, diet, or compress strategies were disseminated. Meanwhile, he's still in pain, has missed 3 days of work, and was left hanging until the middle of August taking the remainder of his antibiotic which will run out. Oh, and of course - no apology for their behavior from the prior visit. Where is the compassion? Professionalism?Unfathomable.

Went in for a sedative cleaning because I'm terrified of dental sounds and smells. Even though I wasn't able to be sedated. The services received was still great.

I'm awfully afraid of going to dentist after multiple incidents. I had to get 3 fillings redone and a crown. Dr. Hyer and his assistant did an outstanding job. The most delightful experience I've had. Initially I was shaking but as we got further in I was actually able to calm my nerves. Thank you for taking such great care of me and providing a positive experience. I also want to comment on how amazing their office atmosphere is. Every single person is friendly, laughing, helping each other out and having a good time. Walking in to such a welcoming environment is a HUGE game changer in itself! Would 110% recommend!

I am a new patient at Village Dental. My Dentist is Dr. Hyer who is extremely competent, knowledgable and friendly. I would say that those three adjectives seem to be applicable to everyone i have encountered there. This is a dental practice that definitely has its act together -- it is almost as if they brought in a dental practice expert consultant who developed a best way to do everything -- and they are following it to a T. Very impressed with these guys

I got my wisdom teeth out here earlier in the year and paid in full. It turns out they got greedy w/ the insurance and tried to bill for more than could be covered and then when insurance rejected those charges they tried to pass that down to me and charge me an extra 500$ more than I had agreed to in my contract. When I asked them to explain the charges they said they would give me a call and never did, yet are sending me late notices and will probably try to send me to collections and I'll have to get the charges thrown out and send a letter to the consumer protection agency. Village Dental is a second rate business with no integrity.

Bring your skepticism. My wife recently went in for a cleaning, she goes twice a year for cleanings and keeps great care of her teeth, and left with $13k of estimated work that needed to be done, fillings, and multiple potential crowns/root canals. She is also 4 months pregnant and was "highly recommended at least half the work needed to be done ASAP". She went to another childhood dentist and was told all she needed was a filling that could wait until after the pregnancy. The second dentist couldn't believe the recommendations that were given at Village Dental. The second opinion saved us literally tens of thousands of dollars and unnecessary work. The front desk, assistants, and dentist were all very nice and pleasant, however, we will never go back due to discrepancies in opinion of what needed to be done.

Village Dental has always taken great care of me each and every time I called them over the phone, and when I was in the office for a particular reason. They have always treated me with kindness, respect, professionalism and made sure I was ok throughout each visit. I had extensive dental work by Dr. Zalal over several months and did great work. Front office staff, as well as the nurses(Jamie, Megan, Haley) were always kind and worked with me regarding my appointments and changing work schedule. If I had an urgent dental issue they worked me into their schedule the same day or very next day.

I just wanted to share that I've always had a fear of dentists because as a child growing up in the foster home I had some very rough experience with the dentist I remember that I wasn't fully numb as they worked on my teeth and when I tried to tell to till them but to no avail they just kept going.so the fear lasted all these years I'm at the age of 61 1/2 and I've been dreading it so long to go back to the dentist and get work done that was well overdue I finally got up the courage to go I had no other choice just wanna let you know they have treated me so well. Village dental Old Raleigh was very professional very caring they made me feel so comfortable I was very embarrassed with the condition of my mouth.today I am so grateful my mouth looks wonderful they have done a magnificent job and I thank .Village dental Old Raleigh. So much

My experience with this practice was very bad. I went in for an exam and cleaning, and left with a treatment plan for about $6k of work. I was in no pain, take care of my teeth, etc. I was shocked. They didn't even do a cleaning. Feeling confused and unsure, I went to my childhood dentist in Cary. His findings were that I needed a couple of fillings for $250 total vs the multiple crowns, A ROOT CANAL, etc that this office said I would need. Be careful here and ask questions regarding your treatment. Do yourself a favor and search reddit and see the similar experiences other people have had. Choose a dental office that will put you over their bottom line.
