Dr. David Archibald graduated from Tufts University and is an honors graduate of the Harvard School of Dental Medicine. Following dental school, he received two years of additional training, first as a general practice resident in hospitals in western Massachusetts and then at Harvard hospitals dealing with the oral aspects of cancer treatment. In addition to his dental degree, Dr. Archibald holds a Doctorate of Science (ScD) in cancer biology from the Harvard School of Public Health.

Dr. Archibald was a tenured associate professor at the University of Maryland Dental School and lectured at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine for several years. He is the author of more than 70 medical and dental publications.

To maintain the best level of care for his patients, Dr. Archibald is committed to keeping current with the latest advances in clinically proven, evidence-based dental treatments and technology. He takes many hours of continuing education each year, to evaluatedevelopments and expandhis skills forthe benefit of his patients and their smiles.

Dr. Archibald grew up in Melrose and has lived in West Newbury for almost 25 years. He and his wife Marilyn have three great children who are mostly grown now. With the kids out of the house, the couplefocuses their energy on their Australian shepherd Truman, their horse Chandler, and two cats Eloise and Toast.

Dr. Archibalds favorite activities include spending time with his family, working in the yard, racing his sailboat, and doing obstacle course races. He is also a selectman in the Town of West Newbury, a wonderfulway for him to help the town government run better.

Mary graduated with a bachelors degree in dental hygiene from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, TX in 1984. She moved to Germany the following yearand worked as a hygienist for the U.S. Army in Nurnberg, Germany. She spent two years working in private practices in Hamburg, Germany, and was a founding member of the German Dental Hygiene Association (DDHV). Mary joined Village Dental in 2009. As our dental hygienist, she helps patients keep a healthy mouth by providing cleanings, fluoride, and oral hygiene education.

Mary and her husband live in Merrimac and like to travel. They regularly visit Europe and Texas, but also try to see other parts of the world. Mary has three teenage children: a daughter who attends Whittier Tech and twin sons who attend Pentucket Regional.

Michele is a graduate of Forsyth Dental/Northeastern University. Shes worked in the dental field since 1983 and joined Village Dental in 2005. As a dental hygienist, Michele works one-to-one with patients, assessing their oral health, looking for signs of dental disease, and providing thorough, gentle cleanings. Michele knows its important people understand how the health of the mouth affects the body and vice versa. She spends a lot of time educating patients about proper home oral hygiene, nutrition, and how to develop healthy habits.

Ruby has been an integral part of Village Dental since 2004, though she started in the dental field in 1999. Shes a Registered and Certified Dental Assistant and is certified in CPR, too. Wearing two hats in the practice, Ruby manages the front office, handling insurance claims, billings, answering the phones and emails, and managing our schedule. In our clinic, Ruby provides chairside assistance and is a patient coordinator. She loves helping patients receive the best dental care and making sure everyone leaves with big smiles.

Nancy became part of the Village Dental family in 2015, bringing with her more than 20 years of experience in general dentistry and periodontal care. Her warm, calm demeanor helps nervous patients relax, as she reassures them that we offer painless dental treatments. Nancy prepares the operatory for the patient and then prepares the patient for the doctor. Sitting chairside, she assists the doctor with various procedures while tending to the needs and comfort of their patient. Nancy also provides patient education and post-op instructions. She loves working and living in the same town, helping friends and neighbors develop healthier smiles.
