Dr. Racine grew up in Flint and Grand Blanc, the 4th in a family of 6 children. He was a part of the first class to graduate from Powers Catholic High School. Dr. Racine didnt always know he wanted to be a dentist. In fact, at one point after high school, he thought about a life in the priesthood and studied at Thomas Aquinas University in Rome, Italy. He returned to America and attended the University of Michigan-Flint where he received a degree in Biology, and continued on to Ann Arbor to graduate from the University of Michigan Dental School in 1983. He practiced in Flint for 4 years before joining Dr. Gregory Peacock in Clio in 1987, and has loved it here ever since! He is caring, kind, and compassionate and his love for dentistry shows in the great practice and staff he has attained over the years.
Dr. Racines passion for dentistry is reflected in his constant drive to further his education. He has completed over 2,500 hours of continuing education with particular emphasis on Prosthodontics, Sedation, Occlusion, Cosmetic and Implant Dentistry. He has also completed two mini-residencies in Implant Dentistry and has performed implant procedures since 1990. He is an active member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology. Dr. Racine also attained a Mastership in the Academy of General Dentistry, a Fellowship from the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, and a Mastership in the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology. He has been a research associate with the University of Michigan and a member of the Peer Review Committee for the Genesee District Dental Society.
Dr. Racine has a full life outside of work as well! He and his wife Sandy have been married since 1985 and stay active keeping up with their five children and four (and counting!) grandchildren. Outside of work, Dr. Racine's hobbies include swimming, biking, kayaking, cross-country skiing, and a general interest in liberal arts. He loves spending time up north with his family and having a good time.
Dr. Nermine Shehata grew up in Grand Blanc, and received her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan. She spent the next 4 years at Midwestern University in Arizona, where she received her D.M.D. Dr. Shehata then returned to her home state and completed her residency at the University of Detroit Mercy in Advanced Education in General Dentistry. Dr. Shehata practices all aspects of general dentistry, with special interests in implant restoration, digital, and cosmetic dentistry. She has completed numerous hours of continuing education with some of the top educators in the country. She has completed a residency in Digital Smile Design, participated in the Clinical Mastery series, attended the Kois Institute, and has completed Invisalign training. Dr. Shehata loves to give her patients the best dentistry has to offer by expanding her knowledge and staying current with new technology and techniques. Dr. Shehata and her husband Mena stay busy keeping up with their three children, Jacob, Andrew, and Alaina. During her spare time, she enjoys being outdoors and traveling.
Dr. Misch received her B.S. in Nutritional Sciences from Michigan State University and continued on to receive her D.D.S and M.S in Periodontics from the University of Michigan. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, a Diplomate of the International Congress of Oral Implantology, a Fellow & Faculty of the Misch International Implant Institute, and a Recognized Kois Center Specialist. She is currently the President of the Russell Bunting Periodontal Society and an active member of many dental organizations. Dr. Misch is a Dean's Faculty in the Periodontal Department at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. She has written publications in reputable periodontal and implant journals, as well as lectures on topics such as implants, surgical complications, bone grafting, etc. She has received numerous awards including Dr. & Mrs. Gerald Kramer Award for Excellence (2008 nominee), the Billy A. Smith Patient Rapport Award (2007), the Academy of Osseointegration Outstanding Dental Student Award in Implant Dentistry (2005) and the Russell Bunting Periodontal Study Club Award (2005). Dr. Misch is married and mom of three busy boys! In her spare time she enjoys running, reading and spending time with her family.
Dr. Richard J. Resler, Jr. is a Board Certified Orthodontist, and is licensed by the State of Michigan as a specialist in the dental practice of orthodontics. Dr. Resler is a graduate of Michigan State University, where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree. He then continued on to the Medical University of South Carolina and earned his Doctorate Degree in Dentistry. The final part of Dr. Resler's education was three years of intense training in the specialty of Orthodontics at Temple University. He was ultimately granted his Master of Science Degree in Oral Biology and his Certificate in Orthodontics. Dr. Resler has established practices in Saginaw and Caro, where he works alongside of his wife, Dr. Tracie Resler. He joined the practice of Drs. Racine and Shehata in 2007. Outside the office, Dr. Resler loves spending time with his wife and two young sons, and he also enjoys many outdoor activities such as biking, skiing, hunting, snowmobiling, boating, and golfing.
