We like to put names to faces, so we thought youmight likethe same! Our goal from the moment you enter the door as a new patient is to make sure that you stay comfortable, feel taken care of, and leave with the intent of seeing us again!
Dr. Tafoya relocated to Boise from New Mexico in 2000. He immediately fell in love with all that Idaho has to offer and later attended Boise State University. There he met his beautiful wife and received his degree in Biology. He then attended the University of Louisville School of Dentistry on a Navy Scholarship and graduated in 2013.After dental school, Dr. Tafoya provided comprehensive dental care to our servicemen and women in South Carolina, Japan, and finally in San Diego. In 2016, he was selected to deploy for 5 months with the USNS Mercy, a Navy hospital ship. As part of this opportunity, he traveled throughout South East Asia teaching and providing dental care to isolated communities throughout the region.
After working with our team for a year, Dr. Tafoya purchased the practice in May 2019. Patient comfort and quality care are always his main priorities. He is also excited to be offering orthodontic services in the form of invisible aligners via Invisalign.Dr. Tafoya is thrilled to be back in the Boise area with his wife and four awesome children. They love exploring the outdoors, mountain biking, skiing, camping, and Boise State football. He also loves scuba diving, a hobby he picked up while living in Japan for three years. They are excited to finally return to their Idaho home where they can be closer to family, be involved in the community, and enjoy Idaho again!
Stacey has been with our office since it opened in July 2011, but she has been in the dental field for 25+ years! She is our full-time receptionist, working every day answering the phones, scheduling, billing, and working with insurance companies. She is the first smile you see when you walk into our office! Our patients recognize Stacey as the 'go-to' gal with all their insurance and billing questions, as she is very knowledgeable.
She has 8 grand kidsand loves each of them dearly! In her free time, she loves to attend church activities, play with her grand kidsand escape to enjoy the outdoors with her husband, Mark, on the weekends.
Tanja joined our team in the Fall of 2018 on a part-time/fill-in basis to assist in the front office, allowingus to extend our hours to better serve our patients Monday thru Friday. She comes to us with over 25years of office experience, with the last 13 years being in the Real Estate listing/marketing world. When the opportunity arose to workpart-timeforVictory Dental, she eagerly jumped at the chance, wanting to once again be a part of an office team.
Tanja moved from Bonners Ferry, Idaho to Boise in August of 2011, when she married her husband, Mike.Combined, they have 3 children and 1 granddaughter;whoarethe light of their lives! Sheenjoys cooking, baking, writing and photography as well as all thingsforest-related. Growing up ina small Northern town has given her a true love of the great outdoors and she gets back to the woodsevery chance she gets!
Penny joined our team working as our full-time hygienist in September 2012. Penny graduated from Idaho State University in 2006. Working previously at a Periodontal office, her gentle hand is greatly appreciated! Everyone loves Penny, toddlers and seniors alike.
Having 5 kids and 3 grand-kids, Penny is always on the go! From baseball and basketball to volleyball, and having family out of town, Penny enjoys traveling for games and visiting family back home in Preston, Idaho. When Penny and her family aren't on the road, they love to ride four-wheelers and camp for fun!
Rita became a team member in 2016. She graduated from Idaho State University and has been a hygienist for 30 years working at general dental offices as well as Periodontal offices. Our patients love her candor and genuine care for her patients. She loves dentistry and is always striving to learn everything she can to better educate herself and her patients.
Cierra graduated from the CWI Dental Assisting program in 2020 and joined our team soon after! She is quick on her toes and is a great asset to our team. She has a passion for her patients and loves to get to know them.
She moved here four years ago from Indiana. When she isn't working, her and her fiance, Tyler like to go camping, being outside and exploring Idaho, woodworking, and take their dog, Peyton to the dog park.

I have high anxiety around dental procedures. I recently had to have a tooth extracted, and Dr. Dave and the staff were so kind and understanding. They made sure I was comfortable and did everything they could to minimize my anxiety. You can tell that they really do care about each of their patients!

The best dental experience I've ever had, as soon as I got there I was taken to dental chair and the Dentist was there waiting for me. The staff is very friendly and supportive. It seemed as if my comfort was their highest priority. Dr. Tafoya explain the procedure and the process in terms that I can understand. Him and his staff earn my loyalty. Thanks for being so professional and attentive to detail and all my needs were done in a timely manner. I will recommend Victory Dental to all my friends and family. Keep up the excellent work!

Our entire family loves this office. We were trying to teach the importance of good dental hygiene to our 6 year old. We told her to brush thoroughly each time or she might have to go the dentist to have another cavity filled. Her response, "that's okay, I like the dentist!" Although great, it is not what we were expecting. Keep up the good work Victory Dental!

I had an abscess tooth causing large amount of swelling, pain and my tooth to be actually loose. My old dentist couldn't get me in for a week, I called victory dental at 830am. At 930 I was in seeing the doc, ended up having to pull my tooth. I was out by 10. Did an excellent job and for sure will be using them from now on. Excellent!

Dr Tafoya is working with me on implants for a lower denture. He diagnosed me with an infection I have had making me very ill for a long time. His detailed work/skill set and great communication is why I drive from Oregon to go to him! I wish I would have found him years ago . He will take the time to explain every step of a procedure and has called me to see how I was doing more than once! Not just an excellent Dentist an awesome human in general! Thank you so much !

Doctor is great answers all questions makes you feel very comfortable, doesn't pressure you to getting extra work done on your teeth. Dental hygienist are all very nice and do an excellent job with gently cleaning your teeth. Highly recommend this place

We love absolutely Victory Dental! All the staff is always so kind and friendly. We take our kids there as well and they are so patient with them. I had to get a crown recently and Dr. Tafoya was able to make it in house and I didn't have to come back for another appointment. He takes his time and does such a great job! This is the first time in my life that I don't feel nervous about going to the dentist!!

Excellent experience. Receptionist is very easy to work with, assisted with my insurance and has a happy warm reception waiting for you when you walk through the door. The staff was helpful in getting me set up for what turned out to be somewhat of an emergency visit and made me feel comfortable. Dr. Tafoya is cool calm and collected. He listens (explained I am a wimp when it comes to mouth pain) and explains every step of the way. Made my visit extremely comfortable.

Honestly, Dr. Tafoya is the best dentist I've ever been to. The staff was kind, and not only listened to my concerns, but addressed them as well (!!). For instance, I've had one particular issue from having braces as a teen that I've seen several dentists about with no results. Dr. Tafoya was able to eliminate the issue on my second visit. I teared up when I saw the result and I can confidently smile again. They were also very informative without lecturing. I look forward to my future appointments. Thank you!!
