My name is Dr. Richard Piotrowski, but please call me Rich. Ive been practicing family dentistry since 1998. Im originally from Milton, NY a small hamlet in Ulster County. I earned my college degree in Environmental Engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. I graduated from the SUNY Buffalo School of Dental Medicine in 1997. I then received further training at a General Practice Residency at Mountainside Hospital in Montclair, NJ.
We are conveniently located on Rt. 119 in Elmsford, just off exit 4 of I 287. Elmsford is centrally located in Westchester County, NY. Were halfway between the City of White Plains and the Tappan Zee Bridge.
Dry mouth is listed as a possible side effect on many medications. Saliva is the natural cleanser of the mouth. It buffers acid produced by the body as well as acid produced by bacteria that cause decay and periodontal disease. Patients with dry mouth are at higher risk for tooth decay and periodontal disease due to decreased saliva. Dry mouth can be exacerbated by ill-fitting dental appliances such as full or partial dentures. Be assured, we offer VERY NICE DENTURES and aim to custom fit your appliances to make you as comfortable as possible. To combat tooth decay and gum disease when you have a dry mouth, you need to be especially careful to follow good oral hygiene habits. Like all our patients we strongly encourage you to:
Certain products are available that can help alleviate dry mouth such as artificial saliva replacement drops, oral rinses such as Biotene mouth rinse and Oral Balance moisturizing oral rinse. Sugarless lemon drops have also been found to be an excellent saliva stimulant that can help increase saliva flow. Beware that most cough drops and mints contain sugar and will cause severe decay if used daily. Drinking water several times a day also improves dry mouth.

What a waste of my time and my money they told me that they take Medicaid and after everything they didn't. The receptionist told me she doesn't know how get the insurance to cover their services. I ended up going to Touro dental school in Hawthorne and they were able to get my Medicaid to cover my bridge. What upsets me is that I wasted my money on an x-ray and it was all for nothing on top of it all they told me they were going to file a claim with my insurance so I can get the money back and they never did so be careful coming here make sure they take your insurance before you do anything

My husband and I have been going to Dr Piotrowki for 15 years and think he's the best. He's always been there for dental emergencies like severe pain or chipped teeth and handles all the routine stuff painlessly (and my husband doesn't handle pain well at all ). Believe it or not, we live in Atlanta now and still come up twice a year for dental care. Dr Piotrowki is honest and straightforward. You won't find a better person for your dental care.

Dr. P has been my families dentist for years now (all 6 of us) and we always have gotten great care, service and advice. Warm and comfortable practice. This is a true one on one experience and NOT a crazy over booked dental practice.
