Dr. Vernon is a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist, Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. A Magna Cum Laude graduate of Loyola University (New Orleans) 1996, Dr. Vernon went on to earn her Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Maryland, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2002. As the daughter of a pediatrician, you might say it was in her DNA to seek her Dental Residency and Specialization in Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Vernon sought out and was matched into her Pediatric Residency Program, completing her multi-year Pediatric Dental Residency Program at the University of Maryland Baltimore College of Dental Surgery, where she was awarded her Pediatric Dental Specialist Certificate in 2004. Her professional dream came true!

Dr. Vernon has practiced pediatric dentistry in Anne Arundel County since completing her residency in 2004. She has been privileged to practice what she loves (pediatric dentistry) and to treat and care for many children. Dr. Vernon is humbled by the recognition brought to her by parents, children and colleagues, including her recognition as a selected 'Top Doc' for Pediatric Dentistry in Annapolis What 's Up magazine, her recognition as one of the 'Favorite Docs' for Pediatric Dentistry in Chesapeake Family Magazine, and her peer selection as a 'Top Dentist Pediatric Dentistry' in Baltimore Magazine.

In addition to her passion for pediatric dentistry, Dr. Vernon is passionate for the work of the Annapolis Lighthouse Shelter (a homeless prevention shelter for adults and families), St. Marys Catholic Church programs, as well as other local child based programs.

Dr. Vernon is married to her college sweetheart, Keith T. Vernon, and together they are proud parents of three amazing children, Cameron, Madison and Coleton. The family also has a Golden Retriever named Thor! Together the family enjoys the kids sports programs, the water, parks, museums, and just about anything outdoors!

I am most passionate about caring for those who have limited access to dental care. My main focus is treating children with very severe dental disease while they are under general anesthesia in the hospital. It is very exciting and fulfilling to complete all of their dental needs in one visit and take them to an optimal state of dental health.

I attend meetings and seminars several times throughout the year to keep current on the newest techniques and materials in pediatric dentistry. These courses also give me an opportunity to discuss cases and treatment approaches with fellow colleagues. I am also current in CPR and Pediatric Advanced Life Support.

I am originally from New York and currently live in Glenelg, MD, with my husband, Chet, our children, Julian and Jaya, and our two German Shepherds. My free time is spent traveling, reading, and skiing.

Our experienced team is especially interested in making all our patients feel right at home! We put your needs first to achieve efficient and comprehensive treatment. Our team strives to provide energetic and fun-loving service to each patient. Each member of our pediatric treatment team is highly trained, and our office staff members have years of experience in treating patients with the highest level of care.

A pediatric dentist is a dental specialist who solely treats infants, children, and adolescents. A pediatric dentist must complete a two to three year residency training after obtaining her Doctorate in Dental Surgery (D.D.S.). During this extensive training, pediatric dentists gain in depth knowledge and experience about the growth and development of the child's dentition, and they obtain the expertise in behavior modifications to help children have a positive dental experience in the dental home.
