Dr. Matt was born in Minneapolis, MN, but grew up in Sioux Falls, SD. He graduated from South Dakota State University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, and then went on to the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry. While there, he met his wife, Dr. Taylor. After earning his Doctorate of Dental Surgery, he and Dr. Taylor returned to Sioux Falls to practice for a couple of years before deciding to move to the mountains of Colorado. Dr. Matt is a member of the American Dental Association, Colorado Dental Association, Carbondale Chamber of Commerce, and is an associate member of the American Association of Endodontists. Dr. Matt enjoys many of the outdoor activities of the valley, including golf and mountain biking in the warm months, and during the winter, he skis and snowboards.
Dr. Taylor was born and raised in Montana. She has always dreamed of living and raising a family in the mountains. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree at Concordia College in Moorhead, MN, then went on to study at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. Since receiving her Doctorate of Dental Surgery at the U of M, she has been involved in Mission Dental trips to Jamaica and continuing education to stay current on advances in the field. Dr. Taylor is a member of the American Dental Association, Colorado Dental Association, and Carbondale Chamber of Commerce. When she is not busy, you will find her hitting the slopes or biking the many trails around the area and chasing her five year old son. Dr. Taylor values communication and is dedicated to making sure her patients feel cared for and informed.

Katherine gave my teeth a thorough cleaning yesterday. My appointment time wasn't for a month, but Sally was able to fit me in earlier. Dr. Matt came in after the cleaning and made sure my mouth, teeth and gums were all healthy. I live outside the USA during the winter months, so getting in earlier was a major bonus for me. The overall experience at Verheul Family Dentistry is top notch. Thank you so much!!

I've been going to Verheul Dentistry for quite a number of years and I've gotten to know almost everyone on a first name basis. They are friendly and professional and go out of their way to address your issues and making you as comfortable as possible. I highly recommend them to everybody, whether it is a routine cleaning or more involved work, they won't let you down!

Catherine is a knowledgeable, thorough and astute hygienist, and Dr Matt gave honest suggestion to not pursue any course of treatment for condition that would be better left alone! The best quality care I know of in the valley, without question.

I try my best to support the businesses in the Roaring Fork Valley. I learned from my dentist that I needed to have a tooth extracted. I learned that most dentists these days don't do extractions. I learned that dentists in the Valley are reluctant to refer patients to others in the Valley that do extractions and was recommended to visit oral surgeons in Grand Junction. I was so relieved that Dr. Matthew Verheul was able to do the extraction, WITHOUT the application of a general anesthetic! Dr. Matt and his staff are all incredible. Very professional, caring, thorough and exude confidence. I needed a bone graph and have to wait three months before I'm able to move forward with an implant.

I was delighted to receive such care and compassion from Keiko and Dr. Matt. Wow! Such a delightful visit to keep track of my healthy mouth. Some swollen and tender gums indicated some bacteria in hard to reach places. Keiko introduced me to a tiny brush that can get into those hard to reach spots! How wonderful! Thank you for taking such care of my teeth, gums, and mouth. Love you!

My first time at Verheul Dentistry was an excellent experience. First, the office is very pleasant, modern and clean, without being over the top with lavish furnishings. Secondly, the desk staff is friendly and efficient. Finally, Dr. Matt and his assistant were thorough in their exam, evaluation and explanations....I have never left a dentist's office so well informed and so eager to apply the information they gave me to my dental hygiene. I actually look forward to future visits and believe that my teeth will remain in good condition under the dentist's gentle care.

Right from the moment I entered the office, I was greeted by a smiling face and a very professional and friendly demeanor. I then had a lovely lady named Jennifer take me back to a very bright and comfortable room where, after providing an explanation of what she was doing, proceeded to take several images of my teeth. She was very gentle when placing the items in my mouth, and the technology was pretty impressive! When I met with Dr. Matt Verheul, he was professional, respectful, and kind. I have a complicated situation going on with my teeth, and at no time did I feel rushed as he patiently explained what he saw while going through my images seen on a monitor above me. He answered all my questions, and provided me with some very helpful tips on cleaning my teeth. I would highly recommend this dental practice to anyone who is looking for top-notch dental care.
