I first observed how powerful and transforming orthodontics can be in peoples lives through the work of a family friend who was an orthodontist in my hometown of DeKalb, Illinois (IL). I was inspired to become an orthodontist myself after watching him create beautiful and healthy smiles for his patients.
I attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and received a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering with Distinction in 1999. After working for several years as a research engineer in the aerospace industry with low observables (stealth technology), I went back to school and received a D.D.S from the University of Illinois at Chicago, College of Dentistry. During my time at the College of Dentistry, I was honored to receive the highest awards for academic excellence conferred upon a student by both the Illinois State Dental Society and Chicago Dental Society. Following graduation from dental school, I attended a three year residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago and received a specialty certificate in Orthodontics and an M.S. degree in Oral Science.
I grew up with three older brothers, one of whom is my identical twin and works as an optometrist. I live in North Barrington, and when I am not working, I enjoy doing Crossfit to stay in shape, as well as watching sci-fi movies and White Sox games during the baseball season.
Treatment Coordinator & Initial Exam Assistant Lori hasbeen a proud member of our team since 1994. Lori and her husband, Tim, have a daughter, Ryleigh. She enjoys many outdoor activities, including running and biking.
Clinical Lead Orthodontic Assistant Megan has been with the team since September of 2000. When shes not in the office, Megan enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, Drew and Kelli. She also enjoys cooking and baking for her family!
Orthodontic Assistant Maggie was a past patient of Dr. Verbics which sparked her interest and is our newest team member since beginning her orthodontic career in January of 2017. On days off she enjoys kickboxing and motorcycle rides in the summer.

I was a patient over 9 years ago when the practice was formerly Hayward Orthodontics. I came back after recently losing my retainer to inquire getting a new one. To my surprise, I recognized the team members who had treated me all those years ago. They continued to provide excellent care and was very accommodating for my scheduling needs. It was great to see that they have upgraded their orthodontic technology to better assist their patients to achieve their dream smile. Thank you for all that you do!

Verbic Orthodontics is very accommodating. We needed to replace a retainer for my son who is away for college. They were very flexible in scheduling the appointment during break and determining the best way to have the new retainer shipped back to him. I would recommend Verbic.

Where can I even begin??? I have gone here for several years and I am the 4th one in my family to use them as a orthodontist. They have always been very friendly, patient and considerate towards everyone in my family with their needs. They sure do know how to make impressions lively (because everyone there knows I hate them haha) They have gotten us quick in with appointments with emergencies, such as broken braces, and on top of that their facilities are always top-notch clean! My family and I would recommend Verbic Orthodontics to anyone with any needs with braces or retainers! P.S. They have hot cookies at the Barrington facility and they are delicious!

I've been attending this practice for about 5 years. During the five years, Dr. Verbic and his staff have done everything they could to help me through the slightly rough times and all the better times. Everybody has been totally supportive and helpful throughout. My end result is a great smile and healthy teeth. Thanks for everything Dr. Verbic and staff! When I wanted to get braces as an adult, I was apprehensive, but Dr. Verbic and his team made the process easy and comfortable every step of the way. They strike the perfect balance of being knowledgeable, professional and friendly. It's been a few years since I finished with Invisalign, and my teeth still look great. I recently had to come back in for a new retainer, and they were as nice and welcoming as always. Their new location is clean, modern and conveniently located. The warm cookies and other lobby treats are an added bonus!
