I first observed how powerful and transforming orthodontics can be in peoples lives through the work of a family friend who was an orthodontist in my hometown of DeKalb, Illinois (IL). I was inspired to become an orthodontist myself after watching him create beautiful and healthy smiles for his patients.
I attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and received a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering with Distinction in 1999. After working for several years as a research engineer in the aerospace industry with low observables (stealth technology), I went back to school and received a D.D.S from the University of Illinois at Chicago, College of Dentistry. During my time at the College of Dentistry, I was honored to receive the highest awards for academic excellence conferred upon a student by both the Illinois State Dental Society and Chicago Dental Society. Following graduation from dental school, I attended a three year residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago and received a specialty certificate in Orthodontics and an M.S. degree in Oral Science.
I grew up with three older brothers, one of whom is my identical twin and works as an optometrist. I live in North Barrington, and when I am not working, I enjoy doing Crossfit to stay in shape, as well as watching sci-fi movies and White Sox games during the baseball season.
Treatment Coordinator & Initial Exam Assistant Lori hasbeen a proud member of our team since 1994. Lori and her husband, Tim, have a daughter, Ryleigh. She enjoys many outdoor activities, including running and biking.
Clinical Lead Orthodontic Assistant Megan has been with the team since September of 2000. When shes not in the office, Megan enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, Drew and Kelli. She also enjoys cooking and baking for her family!
Orthodontic Assistant Maggie was a past patient of Dr. Verbics which sparked her interest and is our newest team member since beginning her orthodontic career in January of 2017. On days off she enjoys kickboxing and motorcycle rides in the summer.

Dr. Verbic is the best! Adult orthodontics are different & these folks know their stuff. It's been a long & complex project but definitely worth the wait. STRONGLY recommend them for adult services. Big shoutout to the best ortho out there!! You never walk out the door disappointed. Any ortho may have the knowledge and skill, but Verbic ortho has the friendliest staff (shoutout to Megan!). Not to mention the small goodies on the side such as warm cookies, endless chapstick, coffee for those waiting family members, and so much more! (Having a great smile at the end of the day helps too).

I recently went to the new Palatine office to get fitted for a retainer and received great service! I was in and out in under 20 minutes, and the staff was extremely diligent and personable. I would definitely recommend Verbic O. :)

I got my braces off nearly five years ago. Recently, I lost my retainer. I called the office inquiring about a new one and everyone was willing to help.The process to get a new retainer was very easy. The team is well organized, detailed and kind. I would highly recommend this practice if you are looking to get braces in the future.
