We strive to provide dental health care' focusing on prevention versus disease or emergency care. Thats why we focus on thorough exams checking the overall health of your teeth including an oral cancer check and taking x-rays only when necessary.
Infection control in our office is at the top of our priority list. To protect our patients and ourselves, we maintain strict sterilization and cross contamination processes, using standards recommended by the American Dental Association, OSHA and the CDC.
We are a team of highly trained and skilled clinicians. We take pride in providing the care you need to keep your smile healthy. To give you the best possible service and results, we are committed to continued education and learning. We attend dental lectures, meetings, classes and dental conventions to stay informed of new techniques, the latest products, and the newest equipment that can be used to provide state-of-the-art dental care.
Dr. Vera Dooley earned a degree in Dentistry in Eastern Europe, where she practiced pediatric dentistry in a non-profit government clinic for three years before attending dental school at the University of Southern California. After this, she attended a General Practice Residency at the LSU School of Dentistry in New Orleans, focusing on advanced topics in General Dentistry such as E.R. and Urgent dental care, anesthesiology, and special patient procedures.
Dr. Dooley recently settled in the Placerville area after travelling for many years with her husband Matt during his military assignments. Matt retired from the U.S. Air Force recently, where he served as a pilot and a foreign area officer. During Matts service, Vera got the chance to live in and travel to a variety of places, including Germany, Korea, Turkmenistan, Hawaii, St. Louis, Biloxi, Monterey, and many others. However, theyve decided that El Dorado County was the best place to settle down and raise their three boys.
I worked for Dr. Steve since May 2000 and have enjoyed the transition to Dr. Vera Dooley. I have been working as a dental hygienist for 32 years after attending Cal State Hayward and Foothill College in the Bay Area. I live in Folsom with my husband of 31 years, and we have two adult daughters. I enjoy spending time with my family, hiking, and fitness weight training.
I am often asked why I commute to Placerville to work when there are many dental offices close to my home, it is because I enjoy working where I trust and respect the dental treatment provided for myself, my family members, and the patients and friends in our practice.

Going somewhere new for the first time your not sure what to expect. The doctor and staff were fantastic. I felt comfortable and well taken care of. The operatory was very clean. The dental assistant was so very kind. Best cleaning I've ever had.

Dr.Dooley's Team Rocks! This dental office is amazing, everyone is so kind, so attentive and caring. I had The Best experience, superb service and quality dental care! I would highly recommend them. Dr. Vera is a great dentist and she takes good care of her patients. Shelly is fantastic - don't procrastinate, get your cleanings done with Shelly, you'd be amazed what it does to your smile! I also truly appreciate scheduling flexibility and timely reminders, but even more so - no billing surprises - thank you Erica, for proactively checking insurance benefits, providing cost estimates and advocating on our behalf! Wonderful service, the staff is incredibly efficient and extremely kind. I love Dr. Dooley. She's a perfectionist and truly cares about your teeth. She is also very kind and I totally trust her dentistry skills and her character. And the best part was she didn't guilt me for not flossing enough.

I just got a crown put on a tooth. Long overdue, but I had had such a bad experience at another dentist that I was very hesitant. Thank you Dr Dooley and other office staff! It was a very positive experience.

The BEST Dental office Ever. I have gone to dentists all my life and so glad I discovered Dr. Vera Dooley. Her office is close to home, welcoming and warm, thorough , safe and secure. All the staff are amazing and so glad my dental needs are met in such a great place. Highly recommend!

I found the hygenist, Shelly, to be very friendly and thorough during the cleaning of my teeth. I experienced no pain during the cleaning and she is very good making sure everyone is safe and well protected during this Covid time.

5 stars plus! I was having some pain and trouble with my gums and called a few other places before finding Dr.Dooley. All of them said the same thing I'd have to wait at least week or 2 to even be seen just for an exam. I called Dr. Dooley and spoke with Erika at the front desk who instantly made me feel at ease. Unlike the other offices I called first who made me feel a bit unwelcome and ashamed. :-( They got me an appointment the same day and Dr. Dooley took the time to address my issue and made me feel so welcome and comfortable. From the front desk to the sweetest hygienists and Dr. Dooley who is amazing and so gentle and understanding. I wish I could give them 100 stars. I'm so thankful to have found them! They are the best!!

I, unfortunately, had a dental emergency and was having a really hard time finding a dentist in the area who was: 1. willing to take a new patient, and 2. willing to take a patient with an emergency. LUCKILY for me, I called Dr. Dooley's office and was graciously greeted by Ericka. I explained my situation and she made me feel like I had always been a patient there and was (again luckily) able to get me in right away! Upon arriving the staff was at once very welcoming, and very VERY reassuring that they'd figure out what was causing me such pain. After a couple x-rats, Dr. Dooley came in; explained my options and got down to business all the while reassuring me and ensuring my care and comfort. All I can say is, "Wow!" I truly wish I would've come across this practice sooner, they've made a lifelong patient out of me FOR SURE!

Great dental office! Shelley has been my hygienist for about 5 years. She does great work cleaning and making suggestions for better self care. Dr Dooley is a wonderful, well-accomplished dentist, and friendly, so I feel I am in good hands.

Need a new crown and a cavity filled today, was in and out in a very timely manner. Dr Dooley does a great job and I'm happy that I don't have to spend a lot of time in the chair as I'm not a fan of going to the dentist but she is great.
