I came to the United States in 1993 from a very small town in Georgia in the former Soviet Union. My passion was always dentistry because, in Georgia, dental health problems are very widespread. I remember going to the community dental center with my mother as a child and seeing the suffering she went through as she had to have teeth painfully extracted. I hated the pain part of that experience and the lengthy recovery that came afterwards. She said to me on one occasion, you need to become a dentist and help me get my teeth back.
So, in 1991 I graduated from college in Georgia to become a dental technician and help people in similar situations. When I immigrated to this country I knew I wanted to continue to pursue my education in dentistry and provide my patients with completely healthy and beautiful smiles. I have always strived for perfection in all things and graduated from Tufts Universitys School of Dental Medicine in 2004 as the #1 student in my class. From there I went on to take hundreds of hours of specialty courses in advanced techniques such as veneers, oral surgery, root canal therapy, orthodontics, and implants. With this extensive training and talent I have been able to save many people from the kind of suffering I witnessed people in Georgia go through and, of course, was able to completely rehabilitate my mothers smile.
Today, I own and work at three practices in Cambridge and Somerville. I have five associate dentists whom I take great joy in teaching and guiding and love being a leader to my amazing teams. I am dedicated to employing many talented professionals who are also immigrants to the United States and am proud to have created an Avalon Dental Center family that speaks many languages and comes from many backgrounds. I continue to be passionate about creating ideal smiles for my patients and am excited by the aesthetic possibilities of dentistry.
I love being able to help my patients achieve the kind of smile theyve always wanted through advanced techniques like veneers and implants, while also assuring that their teeth and gums remain completely healthy for life. I believe that what I do in my practices not only makes a patients mouth healthier, but can truly make them feel better as a whole person and encourage them to achieve bigger and better things in all aspects of their life..
After receiving myBachelors degree in Biology and Chemistry in 1993 Iobtained myDental degree with clinical honors from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, MA. I continueto take courses in advanced dental technology and aman expert in the placement of immediate dental implants, Invisalign and the Six-Months-Smile technique.

Dr. Ofir is a great dentist. I'm so glad I found him after trying a lot of dentists in MA that left me disappointed. He is up front about costs and truly doesn't rip you off in any way. The quality of his work is great. I did veneers last summer and I couldn't be more happier with his work! I plan on being a patient for a long time. Thanks Dr. Ofir!

Absolutely thrilled with my veneer results. Doctor Ofir worked very hard on my veneers to ensure my total satisfaction. My results are incredible. I'm going to send my husband for cosmetic veneers as well. Highly recommended. Pricing is good too. Staff is really accommodating and love that they text to talk and remind about on appointments. I visited Dr. Michael Ofir complaining about my teeth appearance, he gave me different options, explained everything to me, including the procedures as well as the pros and cons. I decided to go with veneer treatment, I was handled with care, he was very professional and friendly. I can smile freely now and I'm comfortable with opening my teeth in public, thank you Dr Michael Ofir.

I officially have my veneers! I'm so happy! I was looking for a natural look that wouldn't make it look like I had any cosmetic work done and that's exactly how it looks! Dr.Ofir did an incredible job. I would give him a 10/10 and will absolutely be seeing him in the future as my primary dentist as well. He is a true professional! Thank you Doctor!

Had a great experience with Dr. Ofir. With years come along, I was getting older and had lost volume in my lips and smile. I hated the look of fillers in that area. Dr. Ofir assured me that the Lumineers would provide the smile that I was looking for. It is amazing. I look like my old self. Dr. Ofir was really professional and I never felt like I was being pressured into spending any more money. Is it expensive - yes it is. Is is worth it - yes, for sure! The staff was also wonderful and friendly to me all the time. I felt like I am a part of their family. Thank you Doctor and staff at Avalon Dental. I recommend this place for anyone who is looking to do lumineers!
