Dr. Trevor Veltkamp is a Whatcom County native who learned to love gray drizzle at a very young age. Although he was gone for 17 years to earn degrees from Calvin College, the University of Washington, Baylor, and Texas A & M his heart was always in Whatcom County.
Upon completion of his degrees, Dr. Veltkamp practiced in Ellensburg for seven years. After he and his wife had their third child, they decided it was finally time to come home, and Dr. Veltkamp has been practicing in Whatcom County since 2007.
Dr. Veltkamps orthodontic philosophy is to provide the right treatment, at the right time, for the right reasons. His orthodontic goals aim to create a healthy, functional bite with a spectacular smile. He uses up-to-date research, coupled with the best technology, and draws upon more than two decades of experience.
Dr. Veltkamp understands that one of the great joys and privileges of practicing orthodontics is the opportunity to develop relationships with patients and their families. Orthodontics not only encompasses the form and science of moving teeth, but also the art and pleasure of working with patients as he helps them enhance their self-image and improve their smile.
Besides creating smiles, Dr. Veltkamp enjoys golfing, skiing, fishing, mountain climbing, and coaching football. He occasionally grows giant pumpkins, has been seen kayaking in the oddest places, and is not afraid to try new adventures. He has had the privilege of serving various humanitarian causes, both locally and abroad. What he loves most is spending time with his wife (Dr. Jody Veltkamp) and being a father to his children.

We also want you to feel comfortable and confident throughout your entire orthodontic experience, and our practice is dedicated to making sure that you receive the quality care you deserve.
Orthodontic appliances are made of metal, ceramic, or plastic. They may be removable or they may be brackets bonded to the teeth. By placing a constant, gentle force in a carefully controlled direction, braces slowly move teeth to the proper position.
Gone are the days when a metal band with a bracket was placed around each tooth. You can now choose clear or metal brackets and, in some cases, the color of your appliance. Wires are far less noticeable, and the latest materials are designed to move teeth faster with more comfort. Today, any age is a great age to wear braces!
Treatment time varies and can last between one and three years, depending on several factors including age, treatment method, and how minor or severe your case is. A big factor in a successful treatment is you! The more involved and diligent you are, the more efficient your treatment will be. For children, receiving interceptive or early treatment can also help provide a quicker treatment time.

My kids are long grown so I wasn't sure who to turn to for my granddaughters ortho needs. I decided to start by turning to Google and looking at reviews. I had no experience with Dr. Velkamp but agree with the great reviews that led me there. The receptionist I talked to was so friendly-exactly what you'd want for a first impression! We sat in a clean, modest waiting room and didn't have long to wait. We were brought to an exam room by Emilee who was awesome. We didn't have many questions but the few I had were answered easily. We talked about the different options that we would need to consider due to a missing adult tooth and I appreciated that instead of just telling me what needed to be done, Dr. V was going to let us know pros/cons on both. We scheduled her next appointment and I was pleased at the price and payment options. I will for sure recommend this office 100% to anyone looking. Heck, I may get a retainer for fun. Lol.

Great Dentist and staff! Dr. Veltkamp and his staff made my 9 year old son comfortable during the appointment. He was not nervous at all seeing the Dentist and doing all the stuff he was asked to do.

I've received braces from this establishment and they work very well. The people are very friendly and informative. Orthodontist appointments are never looked forward to due to the physical pain that usually accompanies them but this place makes it very bearable. Overall a great place I do recommend.

I couldn't be happier with my choice for orthodontics. Dr. Veltkamp takes the time to make sure it's don't right the first time. He doesn't make false timeline promises and all Costs are up front and detailed. 18+ month payment plan is a major bonus.

Dr veltkamp and staff do a great job. Everyone goes above and beyond each and every time. I have 5 dentist friends and he is the number one recommended ortho for lynden. I did my research being an adult getting braces. Icing on the cake is everyone is always happy and joking around at the office. They genuinely seem to like working together and it makes the entire atmosphere completely relaxed. I have five kids and unfortunately all of them will need orthodontics, but if I have to take them, they're all going here!
