What I thought would be a more challenging visit due to a downtown location, became easy, encouraging and positive. Its never fun to go to a dentist. I had a little anxiety going in but everyone from security, admin staff, admissions and finally the dentist was caring and supportive answering my questions and addressing my needs. The appointment process was super easy over the phone and after my consultation and procedure when I left, my parking claim ticket was validated. This is a teaching hospital so there are a lot of patients and students. I will be back! Thank you for a positive experience and a happier smile

Although, it is extremely difficult to get an appointment, when you do it is so worth it. Nothing after that is difficult. They are efficient, effective, and friendly. My time was well spent.

Ridiculous of how the wait time is! I have come from Alexandria and arrived before 7 am. They opened at 7:30 and right now it is 1:32 pm. Still have not take me in for my wisdom removal. Ridiculous!

I have tried becoming a new patient several times. The first time I called in the middle of the month and said they were all booked. Second time I called at 10 am on the first of the month and they were all booked. Now I call the first of the month at 8 am and the automated system hangs up on me every time I press 3 to become a new patient.

Wonderful experience with Dr. Vaughn today. I was referred by my primary dentist to see the endodontics at vcu. I previously has a root canal done years ago and never went back for my crown. I ended up getting a infection and needed a new root canal. Dr Vaughn was so great! He was very thorough, felt no pain and the student that was with him was also very pleasant. I really feel like if I had went elsewhere they would have just extracted my tooth but thank goodness I waited for September openings because he was able to save my tooth and do a new root canal in a few short hours! I can't thank him and the team there enough!

I've been calling them for 6 months straight to get a fill in and it's always something I called yesterday and the receptionist gave me the runaround I called a week before that and the receptionist told me to call on the first I would be able to get an appointment the receptionist yesterday was very rude,I DO NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL!!!

The largest dental scam in Virginia. You aren't a patient, you are a learning tool, and nothing more. They will string you along for months instead of just saying the work is too complex for students. One filling, three hours. That falls out. And replaced incorrectly. Crowns "accidentally" popped off because they aren't being taught what to do. It generally takes 4-5 attempts to get me numb bc they have no idea about mouth anatomy, often with the attending making the final shot that actually gets in the right place. I've been in pain for months because of the incompetence of both students and faculty. Even as last resort, find somewhere else to go.

Great experience! I am so grateful for Jack Madigan, the student dentist who worked on my two teeth, the resident who stepped in, and the others who helped, especially the young lady who held my hand through the hardest part of the extraction. Everyone I interacted with from the ladies at the front desk to the students were super pleasant and encouraging. I was in and out fairly quickly. Thank you so much to everyone at VCU Dental School!
