Dr. Jessica Vaughn completed her Bachelors degree at the University of Missouri- Columbia and earned her Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Missouri- Kansas City (UMKC). Dr. Vaughn is passionate about advancing her knowledge in the dental field and strives to provide the best dental care possible for her patients. She has worked as an associate in private practice for 2 years and also worked for a non-profit organization that provided dental care to underserved children in North Kansas City. She loves helping others and has found that dentistry is a wonderful way to give back to the community and help those in need. She maintains memberships in the Academy of General dentistry, Missouri dental association, and the American Dental Association. Outside of the office Dr. Vaughn enjoys spending time with her husband Nick and her son Declan and their dog Gertie. She also loves riding bikes, hiking, cooking, gardening, and traveling.
Natalie graduated from State Fair Community College in 2016 as the Dental Hygiene valedictorian with an Associate of Applied Science in Dental Hygiene and a Bachelor of Art in Psychology from Colombia College in 2010. She is classically trained as an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant with over Five years of dental assisting experience. With her diverse background, Natalie uses both of her degrees and dental experience daily while treating every patient individually according to their unique oral health needs. In her spare time, Natalie enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and their two dogs.
Amber joined our Vaughn family dental team in 2019. She was trained for dental assisting at Everest College in Kansas City. She has been in the dental field for 5 years now. Aside from dental assisting Amber enjoys going to the lake, cheering on the chiefs and spending time with her husband and their dog Ellie.
Brittany graduated from UMKC in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene and minor in Sociology. Born and raised in the Kansas City area, shes been interested in the dental field since elementary school and knew she wanted to be a hygienist since she was a freshman in high school. She is licensed in both Kansas and Missouri.
Ashley is the lead Dental Assistant at Vaughn Family Dental. She has been an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant for seven years. She is expanded in Restorative I and Prosthodontics. She received her certificates at Penn Valley Community College. Ashley spent four of the seven years as a contract dental assistant for the United States Army at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Ashley joined Vaughn Family Dental in June of 2016 and is happy to tell friends and family that she has found her forever home. Aside from dental assisting, Ashley enjoys kayaking, photography, farming and spending time with her husband.
Jane has been a life long resident of Independence. After several years in the field of cosmetology, she decided to change careers. She decided to switch to the dental field and has been the insurance/ patient coordinator for the last 11 years. She enjoys working with people and has enjoyed her journey in the dental field.

Infection control has always been a top priority for our practice and you may have seen this during your visits to our office. Our infection control processes are made so that when you receive care, its both safe and comfortable. We want to tell you about the infection control procedures we follow in our practice in accordance with American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) to keep patients and staff safe. Before you enter the examination room, all surfaces, such as the dental chair, cabinet handles & countertops have been cleaned & disinfected which hospital grade disinfectants. Some equipment will have protective covers on them which are replaced after each patient. Disposable instruments & needles are never reused. After each use, all non-disposable dental instruments receive the highest level of medical sterilization available. Before seeing each patient everyone in the treatment team washes their hands & puts on a new pair of gloves. These processes have always been of utmost importance in our office & will continue to be the standards we uphold for the community.

Had an 8am yearly check-up. Showed up at 8am, was in the chair by 8:05. Had a nice chat with Brittany as she painlessly cleaned my teach. Dentist came in and with a few reminders I was sent on my way by 8:40. Great people, great practice.

Our DDS for 43 yrs, retired. Talk about anxiety. After researching reviews, we tried Vaughn. OMG, so pleased! NO PAIN! We really liked the fact that they take notes & remember your specific concerns. Everyone makes you feel so at ease.

I was definitely nervous about going to the dentist as I hadn't been in many years. I read the reviews for this office and was thoroughly impressed. I booked my appointment and I can say 5 stars just isn't enough, if I could give more I would. The ladies at the front desk are the sweetest and very helpful while checking in/scheduling future visits. I absolutely love and adore Natalie and would recommend her to anyone. I felt extremely comfortable and at home during my entire visit with her. She eased my anxiety and talked me through everything she would be doing. She explained thoroughly what my teeth needed and set up a game plan for giving me a healthy smile I will love once again. She made the visit very personable. Dr. Vaughn was nice as well. She was very quick and to the point (as you'd expect the doctor to be) not as thorough at explaining as Natalie though unfortunately however still a good experience. Overall, if you're looking for a judgement free, extremely friendly, caring, and professional dentist to go to, I will always strongly recommend this office and especially Natalie. I am proud to become a patient here and look forward to seeing these ladies again!!

Vaughn Family Dental is top tier. Friendly, thorough, and efficient, Dr. Vaughn, Natalie, and the rest of the team take good care of my family's oral care. I have been attending their practice from the start and have never experienced anything other than excellent service. More importantly, they treat me like a person, not just a patient. I would highly recommend them.

This is the only dentist I've been to where everyone makes me feel comfortable and welcomed. My appointment didn't take too long and Charlotte today was personable and great to talk to! Im always happy with my results and will continue to go here!

Some people are afraid of snakes, spiders, heights etc. My fear is the dentist. I was forced to go after an accident this past October .Dr. Vaughn and her team have done everything they can to make sure that I am at my most comfortable state of mind when I am in her chair. My accident required several crowns, veneers and root canals. Dr. Vaughn not only repaired the terrible emergency dental work I had received from another dentist but was able to perfectly repair all the other damaged teeth from my accident. Dr. Vaughn's office is the most professional, caring group of people I have seen in a dentist office. I can't put into words how grateful I am to Dr. Vaughn and her staff from the front desk to the hygienists, every step of the way they have provided me with all of the extra assistance I needed working through several months of these repairs. I would only recommend Dr. Vaughn to my family and friends for dental work!

Had my first visit today - and while the entire process was very professional, I got the sense that they were making a lot of effort to make me feel like part of the family. The email reminders and instructions were clear and concise - and there was no ambiguity on what I should be doing especially in COVID times. Brittney, my hygienist, was engaging and great at what she does. Dr Vaughn was very welcoming as well and she took time to explain to me what her recommendations for my bad tooth situation. I was debating between getting a dental implant vs dental bridge and though getting a dental bridge would be financially more beneficial to her practice, she recommend me to go with the dental implant since it is the better option in the long run. This was very much appreciated especially since she took time to explain (using visual diagrams) the pros and cons between both procedures. All in all, I was very impressed with Dr Vaughn and her staff and was happy I was able to cross paths with her and her team. Already made an appointment to get a couple of my teeth filled with her practice.
