Dr. Vaughn A. Johnson has been creating beautiful smiles since 1994! Dr. Johnson attended Brigham Young University for his undergraduate studies and earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Washington. He completed specialty training in orthodontics at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, where he earned a masters degree and certificate of orthodontics.
A board-certified orthodontist, Dr. Johnson maintains memberships in the American Association of Orthodontists and the American Dental Association. He is a volunteer leader for the Boy Scouts of America and enjoys running, reading, and working on the family cattle ranch.

Orthodontic appliances are made of metal, ceramic, or plastic. They may be removable or they may be brackets bonded to the teeth. By placing a constant, gentle force in a carefully controlled direction, braces slowly move teeth to the proper position.
Gone are the days when a metal band with a bracket was placed around each tooth. You can now choose clear or metal brackets and, in some cases, the color of your appliance. Wires are far less noticeable, and the latest materials are designed to move teeth faster with more comfort. Today, any age is a great age to wear braces!
Treatment time varies and can last between one and three years, depending on several factors including age, treatment method, and how minor or severe your case is. A big factor in a successful treatment is you! The more involved and diligent you are, the more efficient your treatment will be. For children, receiving interceptive or early treatment can also help provide a quicker treatment time.

Great experience! I went in for a consultation. All my questions were answered I did not feel like I was being rushed. Everyone was friendly but professional at the same time. Dr Johnson walked me through the exam so I felt comfortable.

Dr Johnson is obviously very knowledgeable and explains the treatment plan in a way for both the kids and the parents to understand. He is always willing to answer any questions that you may have, and is so great with kids. A wonderful choice for an orthodontist you can trust.

We originally started my daughter on braces with a different orthodontist, but that relationship wasn't working so we decided to try Dr. Johnson. What a difference! The other place mispronounced my daughter's name, even after 2 years! This is a relatively small thing, but is also one of the pronounced differences between the two experiences. Everyone at Vaughn Johnson Orthodontist is not only professional and skilled, but warm and genuinely caring. There have been several times when my daughter had issues with her braces (just standard stuff like wires getting too long...because they're working! and poking in to her cheek.) and they have made time to see her usually within the same day I call about. One time was on a Sunday and a bracket had come off, Dr. Johnson came in on his day off to take care of her. The "other" place would have told her to wait for her next appointment...which might have been 2 weeks away. They have great incentives to help the kids with self-care, too. So, yeah!

Great experience. Dr. Johnson and his staff are very welcoming, kind, and good at what they do. They have been flexible with my appointments and my orthodontic work is going perfectly as planned. Additionally, the payment plan option makes orthodontic attention accessible for everyone!

At well past retirement age, this is the first time I can say going to the dentist was fun. The staff and Dr. Vaughn are a delight, and my Invisalign corrected teeth are a great improvement.

Dr. Johnson is such a great dr. The staff that work there are so pleasant, friendly, and I actually enjoy going in to see them. I can't recommend them high enough, this was a generally pleasant experience, I mean having your mouth literally moved comes with some obvious discomfort, but to be honest I was ever really only a little sore. One area that I have been the most impressed with was how precise Dr. Johnson's calculations were in the original placement of the brackets. The second most impressive note is that the treatment's pace was really thoughtful - if a ortho' rushes it can damage the bone density in your jaw (or so I've been told). The pacing, the service, and the attention to details make this an office and service I can highly recommend.

The absolute best! I came to Dr. Johnson's to go through the Invisalign program. The team there is extremely friendly and helpful. Everyone involved went above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied with how my teeth look now (incredibly straight and awesome!) Couldn't have asked for a better experience.
